07-04-2017 (Tuesday) Once More a Bride

Roman asks Eric how he is doing; he is worried about a relapse, since Demos drugged him.  Eric tells him he’s fine, but, he says, he thinks he made a mistake with Nicole when he was under the influence.  Roman says he doesn’t need details, but asks whether they talked it over or not; he says yes, but they agreed not to say anything to Brady about waking up next to each other.  Brady and Nicole stroll through the Square with Tate; Eric tells Nicole they need to talk about what happened at that house when she was under the influence.  She tells him she just doesn’t remember anything that happened; they talk about Deimos, and how, with all those people under the influence anything could have happened.  He promises her that nobody and nothing will get in their way again.  Nicole suddenly begins not feeling well; she says she thinks she’s just exhausted.  He asks again what she remembers from that night; she flashes back to waking up next to Eric, but tells him she thinks those memories are buried forever.  Nicole goes for a stroll with Tate and Eric finds Brady in the park alone.  He asks Brady if Nicole told him; Brady says, “yes.”  Eric soon realizes they weren’t talking about the same thing; Nicole comes back by and ends up confessing to Brady that she remembers stumbling into Eric’s room and waking up on the bed with him.  For drama’s sake, she leaves out the fact that they were fully-clothed until a little later in the conversation; Brady says he completely understands.  He tells them both that he trusts them, and says it’s all good.

Kayla thanks Tripp once more for catching her mistake; she tells him she is really proud of him for caring so much.  She goes to check on a patient; Tripp calls Jade.  He tells her that he “did it again” but says it almost went horribly wrong; he tells her he could have killed somebody.  She reminds him that Kayla (supposedly) killed his mom; he says he is going to try one last time, but says he has to be more careful.  He gets into Kayla’s patient records again; Kayla comes back.  He lays her tablet down on the front desk; she invites him to go back home with her and says, later, they’ll go downtown to watch the fireworks.  They leave.  When they get home, Steve has the BBQ grill going; Kayla asks Tripp if he’d like to learn how to bake her famous apple pie, and they walk into the Pub; Tripp tells Joey he wants to know about his memories of Ava.  He tells Tripp that he met Ava when she came back to town for revenge, only she told him she was an old friend of his parents; he leaves out the fact that they became lovers.  Tripp says every time anyone talks about his mother, he feels like they are holding out on him; he asks Joey if he is holding something back.  Enter Steve and Kayla; dinner is ready.   They laugh and talk; after dinner, Jade calls.  Tripp goes outside and tells her that he thinks he wants to call things off; he says he doesn’t want to hurt Steve and Joey, and Kayla is actually really nice, and he doesn’t want to lose this family now.  Kayla gets a call from the hospital; the hospital director wants to see her ASAP.

Chad asks Abby if she is seriously getting married right now; he says the ink isn’t even dry on their divorce papers yet.  He brings up JJ being charged with murder and asks Abe if he is really okay with this; Abe says Abigail has made her decision.  Chad says he hasn’t heard her say anything yet; Gabi walks in and asks what’s going on.  When she is told it is a wedding, she asks why she wasn’t invited; Abby and Dario say they didn’t invite anyone.  Gabi says, if this is what they both want, then she is happy for them; Chad is pissed and asks if she can’t see the little strings attached to Abigail that Dario is pulling.  Abigail gets pissed at that comment and tells Chad she is no one’s puppet; she says she makes her own choices and tells him to leave.  Gabi tells Chad they should get going; he says he isn’t going anywhere.  Abigail says okay, if Chad thinks he needs to see this to know it is real, then he can stay; Dario invites Gabi to stay.  Abigail asks her if she would actually take a few photos for them so they have the memory; she says sure.  Abby resumes position, and Abe asks her to repeat after him; she does, …but she gets frustrated halfway through and asks if they can just skip the formal stuff.  Abe moves on to the rings; they each vow to honor and love “in all ways and forever.”

Momentarily, Chad jumps up and says, “stop” telling Abigail that he can’t let her do this because he loves her; Gabi asks if he is alright, and he (still sitting next to her) says, “yeah, I’m fine.”  Abe pronounces Dario and Abigail husband and wife; they kiss, and Chad looks away.  Dario tries to talk to Chad, civilly, after the ceremony, telling him that they both want the same thing – for him to be happy with Gabi and for the good of Thomas.  But Chad wants nothing to do with him; he tells Dario that his son isn’t going to have anything to do with him either, and Abby reminds Chad that she is Thomas’ mother so it’s not just up to him.  Chad remarks, “when you’re here.”  She tells him that was a low blow.  Gabi hugs Abigail and giggles over the fact that they are sisters-in-law now; Abby says she always thought of her as a sister anyway.  Dario brings out a bottle of champagne; Gabi tells him she’s happy for him, but asks why the rush.  He simply says, “it was time.”  She tells her brother she is going to go talk with Chad and try to calm him down; she tells him to go be with his bride.  He says he likes the sound of that; he takes the bottle and two glasses and leaves.  He makes a toast to Abigail, promising to be a good husband to her and a great father to Thomas; they click to their marriage.  When they get home, Gabi asks Chad if he wants to talk; he says no, adding that the ceremony just solidified what he already knew – that Abby is his past and “this” (as he grabs Gabi) is his future.
