11-20-2017 (Monday) So Much Confusion!

Sammi goes back to Susan Banks' house; Marlena tells John, there was no stopping her.  She gets there just in time to see Susan and ‘Will’ with their bags backed, ready to walk out the door.  Sammi grabs the arm of the man she believes to be Will; she tells Susan she isn’t taking him anywhere.  Sammi asks ‘Will’ to listen to her; he steps forward and tells Sammi it’s time she listen to him.  He says he wants her to stop making claims on his life; he says he remembers Susan being the one who took him to the hospital when he fell off his bike and broke his wrist.  Sammi tells him that is a story from her son’s childhood, his “father.”  He looks even more confused than before; Sammi starts to recall stories from Will’s childhood, which seem to be reaching him –maybe.

Marlena and John continue to analyze the situation, recalling events from Salem’s past, which involved Susan Banks and Steffano DeMira (and two other people I’m not familiar with, Kristen and D-something...) trying to pass E.J. off as John’s son?  Marlena says there isn’t much, even in Susan’s deepest, darkest secrets; she was troubled, but not inherently evil, she says.  She believes it was mostly Steffano’s influence; she wonders if Susan’s ex-husband would be able to help them.

Sammi shows ‘Will’ pictures on her phone of them, as a family, him as a child, his father, his grandma, Sonny, their wedding, and Susan’s real son, E.J.  He becomes overwhelmed and says he has to “go to work” and runs out the door.  Susan tries to follow him, but Sammy throws her to the ground and says, “you’re not going anywhere.”  Marlena tells John that Susan pretty much lost it when she lost E.J. and that’s when she decided to move back to Memphis; John says he knows “something that might work here.”  He leaves.

Hope ponders the situation; she can’t believe Sammi finds her son is alive, just as Abe might be losing his.  Rafe says he can’t believe JJ shot Theo; Hope says the one thing she can believe is that Sammi will end up getting thrown in jail doing something stupid again.  Hope also tells him she is frustrated that he risked his reputation to help Sammi; Rafe says it looks more like she is mad than frustrated – she pours herself a drink says he’s right, because he wasn’t there for her in all this… he was in Memphis with Sammi.  He apologizes for making her feel “abandoned” and says he didn’t mean to hurt her; he tries to explain his situation.  She says, none of that matters because he doesn’t know what she’s been through, since he wasn’t there.  She calls him “Detective Hernandez,” and tells him he better stop and think before he says another world.  (Wow.)

He apologizes, and asks if they are okay; Hope says, “I want us to be.”  He brushes her hair out of her face and says, “me too.”

Adrian tells Justin that she is worried about Sonny, saying he is determined to “get through to Will” and she can’t help but think about the hell Paul must be going through right now.  She likens it to what they have been through; he says all that matters is that they are there for him if, and when, he needs them.  Adrian gets very passionate all the sudden and decides she doesn’t want to wait any longer to make love; they undress and end up in bed.

Sonny comes into the bar in Memphis; he sees Paul there.  He says he was hoping to find Will; he turns, saying he is going to check Susan’s house…. Paul asks him to wait.  Sonny tells him, thanks to Susan Banks and Dr. Rolph, Will thinks he is E.J. DeMira; Paul is shocked.  When Sonny tells him Will doesn’t remember him or their life together, Paul says he is “so sorry” and Sonny asks, “but are you, really?”  He asks how he could have not told anyone before they got on a plane back to Salem, saying Susan could have taken him away and he “could have lost him all over again.”  Paul looks very hurt.  He asks Sonny to understand his position; how he feared he would lose everything they had together if he found Will alive.  Sonny sees Will walk in; Paul backs up Sonny’s claim that he is Will… ‘Will’ asks Paul who he is.  He tells him he is Sonny’s fiancĂ©`; now ‘Will’ is very confused.

Sammi tries her best to get through to Susan after ‘Will’ leaves; she knows Susan is using him to replace her dead son.  She reminds Susan of their history together, and says E.J. would be very disappointed in her.  Although, at moments, Susan appears to be regretful, she reaches out and slaps Sammi across the face, hard!  Surprisingly, Sammi doesn’t react; she responds… talking softly to Susan; Susan breaks down, Sammi says she sees her pain.  Susan cries; Sammi pleads with her, “tell Will the truth.”  Susan jumps up and says she won’t, calling Sammi a “horrible witch of a mother.”  Sammi takes a breath and asks E.J. (looking up) to help her, not to kill Susan.

Sonny explains, Will was gone already when he met Paul; Sonny mentions their wedding day, and Will getting shot… pointing right where he has the scar from the bullet.  Marlena comes in the bar next; Will says he knows she is supposed to be his grandma, from the pictures Sammi showed him.  She says she is.  Then, John brings in 'Elvis.'  Roger, as Susan calls him, refuses to back up Susan's story any longer, he says.

11-17-2017 (Friday) Will's Home Away from Home

We return to the house of Susan Banks, where ‘Will,’ now thinking he is “E.J.” paces the floor; he sits down and recalls Sonny saying he was his husband and Sammi saying she was his mother, him screaming at them.  He looks troubled.  Sammi is taken to jail again, still arguing her position; he son, raised from the dead, brainwashed to think he is her dead husband… the policeman makes fun of her.  He tells her it looks like she’s on her own; Marlena walks in and says, “no she’s not.”  Sammi is elated to see her; they hug.  Sammi tells Marlena that “Paul knew Will was alive” – Marlena says all that should matter is that he IS alive; Sammi tells her that isn’t true, because he doesn’t even know who he is and he hates her.  Marlena reminds Sammi that there was a time that Sammi hated her, and they got past it.  Sammi agrees and says, “maybe Susan’s scheme will backfire on her.”

Susan comes back into ‘E.J./Will’s room, with a box full of things from his supposed childhood; his first cut lock of hair, his first lost tooth, and a birth certificate… ‘Will’ questions why he can’t see the date on it; Susan says, “because somebody smudged it with their fingertips covered in peanut butter.”  She goes on to tell stories of E.J., as a little boy.  She begs him to let go of all of this; he says he doesn’t understand how he could have been married to Sammi.  He says it makes him feel weird; Susan says, “like you wanna throw up in your mouth, I know” adding, “she makes everyone feel that way, I think.”  He says it just doesn’t make sense, inquiring, why “that guy” would kiss him like that and say he is his husband “if it weren’t true.”

Paul calls Sonny and leaves a message apologizing for not telling him sooner, and says he loves him, “so much” and says he is there for him “no matter what.”  John comes around and gives Paul a hug; Sonny sees the message but doesn’t listen to it.  Paul admits that he realized Will was still alive before they came back to Salem, that he saw him in that bar, and he let Marlena believe her grandson was dead; he says he doesn’t think he can forgive himself.  Sonny tells his mother he is so angry at Paul for not telling him that Will was there, he doesn’t know if he can forgive him; Adrian says, he was afraid of losing him… Sonny says, “he should be.”  John asks Paul who his lie hurt in the end; Paul says, “no one more than me.”

When his ‘mother’ comes in, ‘Will’ asks her to tell him the truth about who he is; she finds it hard to look at him, holding his breakfast tray, she tries to think of what to say.  She says Sammi is just trying to make trouble for her and tries to make him feel bad for doubting “the mother who raised and loves him.”  He apologizes; she tells him to sit down and eat his breakfast.  He says he has to get some answers for himself, questioning who Will Horton is and why everyone is saying “E.J. DeMira is dead,” if he is E.J. DeMira.  He questions why his ‘mother’ doesn’t let him have a computer, why they don’t get the newspaper, or have a television; he asks, if he goes down the library to search for information on himself, will he find out something that he won’t like?

Susan looks down again, pursing her lips (boy, they sure made her an ugly character); she asks him if he doesn’t think he would remember if he were married to a man and had a child… she tells him to listen to his heart and he’ll know the truth.  Rafe tells Gabi about Will being alive; she gets very excited and starts to hug him, but he tells her, “there’s more.”  Paul fears that his lapse in judgment will be the thing that pushes Sonny back into his arms; Sonny tells his mom he has to make Will remember what they had together – he says he has to “go back and try again.”

11-16-2017 (Thursday) Kate's Regret

Abigail talks to her mom; Jen says she feels so terrible for Abe because he’s been such a good friend and there’s nothing she can do for him now, or for JJ.  JJ recalls the even again and says, “oh my god, I did see him.”  Lani tells her father that JJ swore to her that he didn’t know it was Theo when he pulled the trigger; Abe says all he knows is that somebody has to be held accountable.  Chad shows up and says, “I’m so sorry.”  Abe asks if that’s an admission of guilt.  He says of course not; “the DeMira denial,” Abe says.  Chad tells Abe, if he thought Andre did this, he would kill him himself because that’s how much he loves Theo.

JJ talks to Abigail, still kneeling in the Square; he can’t get over the fact that he shot Theo.  He tells her that he thinks he lied to Hope… he says he gave her the standard “cop answer” but now he believes he saw Theo’s face the moment he pulled the trigger.  Abigail says he is just convincing himself that he saw Theo’s face because now he knows it was Theo; she tells him the mind can make you think things that aren’t true and no one knows that better than her.  Abby reminds him that he loves Theo and would never knowingly shoot him.  Tripp tells Kate he is not giving her phone; he says he’ll wait and give it to the police, as he looks as the last missed call on the phone, from Kate.  Kate says she could take it to the police, but Tripp says he’d rather give it to Commissioner Brady himself.  Claire asks what difference it makes; Kate asks Tripp to come speak to her in the hall.

Tripp reminds Kate of his walking in on her and Theo talking the other day, and a few other things that make him suspicious of her; he says there is probably something on that message that the police need to hear.  She tells him, if he does, he will go to jail too; she reveals that she overheard a conversation, too, between his father and Kayla, right there at the hospital, about him.  She says she can do some more digging and could prove that Kayla almost lost her license because of him – Tripp says, he wasn’t in his right mind and has done all he could to make it up to her.  Kate points out that Hope Brady, the current Police Commissioner, could have also died because of what he did.  When that doesn’t change his mind, she tells him Kayla could also lose her job because she covered up for him after the fact; that appears to concern him.  She says, if he cares about Kayla at all, he needs to give her that phone.  He does, but he tells her he doesn’t know the password; she suggests he ask Claire if she knows it and he snaps at her, saying Claire is upset enough about Theo being shot and he isn't going to do that.

Jennifer asks Eric if he could go sit with JJ because he needs someone to talk to; Eric says he would be glad to, except that he thinks she needs him more right now.  They continue to talk; Eric says he can’t reassure her that everything will be okay, and she can’t be sure that JJ is in trouble.  He agrees to go with her to talk to JJ.  JJ tells his sister that today was Lani’s birthday and he told her he loved her for the first time; he wonders now, how she will ever “understand” why he shot her brother.  Kayla comes out of surgery and tells Abe, Claire and Lani that Theo is now in a coma, and she isn’t sure he will come out of it; they start to sob, hanging onto each other.  Claire goes and tells Tripp that she doesn’t know what to do now; he tries to reassure her that Theo will still hear her if she wants to talk to him, and then goes ahead and asks about Theo’s password.  She gets a little emotional, saying, “it’s C, L, A, I, R, E.”  He goes and tells Kate; she deletes the messages and gives the phone back to Tripp, saying he can give it to whomever.  He glares at her, extremely hateful; she breaks down after he leaves, asking, “what have I done?”

Chad finds Abby and JJ, and Eric and Jen at the Square; he tells them about the complication during Theo’s surgery.  Valerie tells Abe that she’s afraid it may have been her fault; she says her hands were shaking because she was anxious, she thinks, because she loves the two of them so much… Kayla steps forward and says she watched Valerie every step of the way and she did nothing wrong.  Valerie says she can’t help but feel responsible.  JJ runs off after hearing that Theo is now in a coma; Jen starts to go after him, but Eric stops her and tells her he needs to have some time to himself.  She cries; Eric holds her.

11-15-2017 (Wednesday) I Saw A Gun

Claire picks up Theo’s bag of clothing, sees the blood on the hoodie, hyperventilates and passes out again.  Tripp sits her down in a chair; she comes to on a table.  He comforts her, saying she needs to be strong for Theo.  Claire says, maybe if she hadn’t gotten so mad at him, or had stayed with him… Hope tells her this isn’t her fault.  She asks if she knows what Theo was doing after the party; Claire says no, only that he seemed to be distracted and said he had somewhere he needed to be.  Now, Hope tells Jen that JJ was the shooter; Jen is in disbelief.  JJ replays the event in his head as he looks over the ‘crime’ scene, which he probably shouldn’t be doing.

Mother to mother, Hope says, she understands how Jen feels, but she tells her that JJ cannot go anywhere near the hospital right now.  Jennifer calls JJ’s phone and leaves a message asking him to call her when he gets it.  Chad and Abigail discuss who might be trying to destroy their company; Jennifer calls.  Abby can tell something is wrong.

Kate leaves another message for Theo, telling him not to break into the building she tells him to call her when he gets this message.  Andre comes in, and asks if Kate truly believes him and she says she does.  Abigail and Chad come down stairs and tell Andre and Kate the news; Kate is obviously nervous, but Chad assumes Andre put Theo up to it.  Kate interrupts and says what’s important is that they are there for Theo and he’ll be okay.

Jennifer finds JJ sitting in the Square, next to the taped off area around the fountain; he says, he swears he didn’t know it was Theo.  Still sitting on the ground, he cries; Jen hugs him.  She says she knows he would never intentionally hurt anyone.  He asks her to go be with Theo and Lani for him, because he can’t; she says okay.  She walks in to hear how angry Abe is that JJ shot his son; she asks how Theo is.  Abe simply says, “he’s in surgery.”  She tells him JJ is beating himself up; Abe says, “he should be.”   Jen asks what she can say or do; he says, "nothing."  Jen reminds Abe that they love each other’s children as their own, but he tells her that the Carvers and the Hortons will never share anything again if his son dies because of what hers did.

Tripp tells Hope he found Theo’s phone on the floor and starts to hand it to her; Hope hears Jen and Abe fighting out in the hall and leaves to stop them.  Abigail comes in and asks her mom to come with her.  Abe walks off with Lani and tells her he tried to convince Theo to stay away from the DeMira’s, but Theo convinced him that he would be careful.  He angrily says if he finds out Andre had anything to do with Theo being near that building tonight, he will tear him apart.

JJ recalls the scene again and again as he stares at the fountain; he turns to see Lani standing behind him.  He tells her he would have rather taken the bullet himself than to have shot her brother; Abe asks Kate if the DeMira’s are “behind this” but Hope says no one should say anything until she looks at Theo’s phone.  She says it may tell them why he was at the warehouse in the first place… Kate mumbles to herself that if the police get Theo’s phone they will know everything; Abe orders Hope to start looking at Andre DeMira immediately.  Hope follows his orders and leaves without going back to get the phone from Tripp; Kate comes in and says she needs to take that phone.

Andre and Chad, still at home, have a passive aggressive discussion about whoever did this; Chad says he will make their life a living hell.  JJ replays the scene over and over in his head, and each time, he sees a little clearer… Theo’s face, as he turns to look at him.

11-14-2017 (Tuesday) Who Are You?

Claire appears to be in shock after she gets a phone call from Julie, telling her that Theo has been shot; she hyperventilates and passes out on the couch next to Tripp.  Abe doesn’t understand how JJ could “accidentally shoot Theo.”  Hope tells JJ she needs him to come to the station to give his statement; she asks how long he had been on duty when he got the call.  He says he had just come from a party and admits that he had drank one beer, and some champagne; he says they had gone home for a while though, he and Lani, then before he got the call.

He describes what he saw at the scene – a guy in a hoodie, trying to get in the back entrance of the warehouse, who took off running.  When he caught up to him, he says, he swears it looked like he had a gun in his hand; but it turned out to be some kind of a hand-held device he’d never seen before.  Hope says forensics told her it is a device used to override security codes; JJ realizes he should have said, “drop whatever is in your hand” rather than “drop the gun.”  Theo knew he didn’t have a gun.  They discuss Theo’s (autistic) tendency to take everything literally.  JJ says there is no way Theo would have been trying to break into the place on his own and they wonder who put him up to it.

Kayla asks Abe for consent to perform surgery on Theo; Valerie agrees to help try to save his life.  Lani comes in and tells her brother that he is her favorite person, and just about the most important thing to her.  Abe comes in, hugs her and tells his son he thanks god every day for the privilege of being his dad, especially after losing his mother, and begs Theo not to leave him too.  JJ is jolted into reality when Hope refers to Theo as his “victim” and tells him he can’t go anywhere near Theo right now.  She asks for his badge and gun, which he gives; he leaves.  Tripp brings Claire to the hospital; Kayla asks if she’s alright, and she says she is.  Kayla suggest that Tripp go with Claire to the E.R., as “backup” and he sees and hears her tell Theo he is the only guy she wants to be with ever and how she loves him so much.

John gets a call from Paul; he tells his dad that he has seen Will; John tells Marlena that Will is alive.  However, they don’t know that this ‘Will’ insists his name is E.J. DeMira; Marlena wonders by Will never came home.  Rafe, Sammi and JJ are in disbelief.  As Susan clings to him, this man explains that he lost the memory of his childhood, but he knows who they are, he says, because his “mother” told him.  He pushes past Rafe and Sammi and walks into ‘his’ room; they corner Susan and say it’s about time she tell them how she “saved” this boy, who is obviously not her son, E.J.  Susan denies that he is Will; Sammi says they will do DNA testing, pulling up pictures on her phone of E.J. to prove he looks nothing like him.

onny follows the man he believes to be Will into the room and tells him he is never going to give up on him; he says he has a brother, two sisters, two grandmothers and a daughter.  That catches his attention; when Sonny says her name, Ariana Grace, ‘Will’ appears to have a reaction.  He questions, though, how that could be if they are gay; Sonny explains it was a complicated time, but a very happy one.  He asks this man to consider coming back to Salem with him, just to see if anything triggers a memory; he scoffs at Sonny when Sonny tells him he was strangled to death.  He tells Sonny to get out; Susan starts to mouth off to Sammi about her children having “two different daddies” saying, “only dogs know how to do that.”  Sammi punches her, just as Rafe is dialing the local PD.

11-13-2017 (Monday) Will Theo Survive?

Claire complains to Tripp about Theo ‘bailing’ on her tonight; she says he had something better to do.  She says he’s just trying to make her feel better when he says there couldn’t be anything better to do than hang out with her.  Claire laughs about how she isn’t smart about “world things” (politics, history and such) and Tripp tells her that’s not nearly as important as being able to write things that make people feel good.  She tells him what she told Theo and he says that probably didn’t make him feel very good.  Claire proceeds to compliment Tripp, using words like “passion” and “intensity” and saying she is always the “opposite of bored” when she is with him.  He says it would probably be better not to tell Theo that they are “captivated by each other.”

When JJ tells the man he is chasing to "drop the weapon" and he turns around, with it still in his hand; JJ shoots... Theo falls to the ground.  JJ can not believe it when he goes to put cuffs on the man and rolls him over to see that it is Theo.  Lani rushes to her brother's side and tries desperately to stop the blood flow; the wound appears to be just above his heart.  Claire wonders why Theo isn’t coming home yet.  Doug and Julie, Abe and Valerie all sit and talk after the party, about “the younger days” and the great times they had back then.  Julie says she likes seeing Lani and JJ bringing their families together again; Abe says he used to have reservations about JJ being with Lani, but he has “come around.”  The ambulance arrives; when they load Theo onto a stretcher and roll him away, JJ turns around and throws up behind the fountain.

Sammi finds Paul and tells him that Will’s grave was empty; Paul tells her he already knows “because,” he says, he “saw him…at a bar in Memphis.”  Sammi gets angry at Paul for not saying something sooner.  Rafe goes back to talk to Susan; he tells her he knows that she lied to them and he isn’t going anywhere until she tells him where Will Horton is.  Susan is not cooperative; she mentions something about ‘her’ son dying; Rafe looks confused by this comment.  She tells him to get out… he goes to the hospital, looking for Sammi; Paul tells him that she and Sonny left an hour ago, to go see Will – he tells Rafe, Will has been working at a “local bar.”

When Sonny says Will’s name and hugs the bartender Paul told him about, the man stands coldly; he tells Sonny he doesn’t know anybody named Will.  The bartender insists he is not Will Horton, and that he doesn’t even know who Sonny is; Sonny decides kissing him might “trigger [his] memory” but …the man pushes him off and tells him “that crossed the line.”  He threatens to kick Sonny’s ass, then Sammi walks in; she runs up and hugs him, smiling and crying at the same time.  The guy looks really confused.  Sammi insists that she knows him and that he was the most amazing thing; he tells them he doesn’t know them and she doesn’t care that he doesn’t know them.  He says they are both crazy and asks them again to leave; Sammi begs him to look at them… he calls out, “mom” and Susan walks in the door.

When Susan tells the man, whom she calls, ‘her’ son, that this woman is Sammi, he says he knows about her and calls her a “lying, cheating whore.”  Rafe comes, also insisting that he is Will; the man says his name is not Will, it is “E.J.”  Paul calls his dad and says he has something to tell him.  When Abe gets to the hospital and asks who in the hell shot his son, JJ says, “I did.”

11-10-2017 (Friday) Who's Calling the Shots?

Rafe makes arrangements for the exhumation of Will’s grave; Sammi says she needs to be doing something, not standing around waiting and asks Rafe if they can get out of there.  They go back to the station; he gets a call when the grave is exhumed and is told that it is EMPTY.  Sammi gets excited and says she has to find her son.  Paul gets a call from Sonny, who says he is about to get out of the hospital.  He asks where Paul is; Paul looks over at the man behind the bar, who looks like Will… he tells Sonny he isn’t far away and he will “be right there.”  Sonny gets to the hospital to pick Sonny up and apologizes to Paul for not listening to him before; he proudly pulls out his engagement ring and puts it back on – it looks like Paul wants to tell him about that bartender, but when Sonny says, “let’s go home; let’s get married,” Paul only smiles.  But before they walk out the door, Paul tells Sonny to wait and says, “I can’t marry you.”  Sonny apologizes for the hesitation; he says he is ready now to move on… he says, “Will is my past; you are my future” but Paul tells him that’s not true.  He says, “Will is alive.”  He tells Sonny where he can find him; but when Sonny gets there, this supposed Will doesn’t appear to recognize Sonny.

Claire rubs her feet after she and Tripp get off of work; she tells Tripp that she didn’t realize how hard waiting tables was and when she is rich, she is going to be “the biggest tipper.”  Tripp tells her he has no doubt she will be one day; he invites her to go out with him but she says she and Theo have “a thing tonight.”  Tripp goes to the Pub where he finds his dad.  Steve says he can tell Tripp is “hung up on somebody” and wants to know whom it is.  JJ gets a call, just as he and Lani are getting off duty and preparing to go out; there’s been a break-in at the new Club, he’s told.  They go to check it out; they enter with guns drawn… it’s a surprise birthday party for Lani.  All of their family and friends are there – seemed a little risky to me, but okay.  JJ tells Lani he took the clip out of her gun, so it wouldn’t “put a damper on the party if" she shot somebody.

At the party, Claire gets upset with Theo again when he tells her he’s emailed the company he bought the follows from and they’ll be un-following her soon; he doesn’t understand why.  She makes it clear that Tripp does.  Lani brings Theo a piece of cake; he tells her that he did something to try to help Claire and she got mad at him for it, and then he undid it and she got mad at him for that too.  She tells him feelings are complicated and he needs to let Claire explain herself to him, but when she says she is ready to go, he wants to stay to talk to his dad.  She gets even more upset when he comes out and says he has something important to do, so he can’t go home with her; she takes that to me that he doesn’t think ‘they’ are important.

Steve suggests to Tripp that he might want to move out because of the feelings he obviously has for Claire; Steve warns him that “triangles” never work out, recalling the fight between he and Bo that cost him his eye.  Tripp says he can handle it and promises not to hurt Theo.  Kate reminds Theo that it is imperative that Chad NOT know he is doing this work for her (Theo is obviously not comfortable with keeping secrets, but he agrees) and tells Kate he will do whatever she needs to help Chad keep the company for Thomas. Andre acts appalled to think that Chad doesn’t trust him; he asks Abigail if she also thinks he’s guilty of trying to sabotage the company… she says she doesn’t believe he would do that.  Kate lets Andre know that she stands with Chad; Andre says, then, “it’s time for full disclosure.”  He says he took measures to implement certain measures “for DeMira, not against it.”  Abigail says she believes him; he asks Chad and Kate whether they do or not.  Neither of them answer for a moment, but then, Chad says, “I believe you.”  He looks at Kate and says, “I do… I believe him.”  They decide to work together to try to figure out who is really attempting to sabotage their family’s company.

Chad ponders; he says this feels more personal than like business… JJ and Lani are in bed and JJ gets another call about a break in.  It’s for real, this time, he says; someone attempts to enter the security code at the mansion.  Lani and JJ see a figure go around the corner; they follow.  Abe toasts to “very nearly the perfect night” as he and Valerie sip some champagne.  Kate calls Theo and tells him she doesn’t want him “to go ahead with the mission” as she thinks “it might be too dangerous,” but he doesn't get her call.  JJ catches up with the would-be burglar in the Square; he tells him to stop as he reaches the fountain.  The man appears to be holding a gun; JJ says he doesn’t want to shoot him, but will if he has to.  The man, who we now see is Theo, turns around –with what looks like a toy laser gun in his hand- JJ shoots; Theo falls to the ground.

11-09-2017 (Thursday) Chloe is My Alibi

Kate is on the phone with a reporter; she tells them the supposed demise of DeMira Enterprises has been greatly exaggerated.  She threatens to sue if they print their story; Andre comes home and says it wasn’t easy, but he “closed the deal.”  He asks how things went in Memphis; Kate says they got confirmation that Will is dead.  He tries to comfort her by putting his hand on his shoulder; she turns around and tells him not to touch her.  Kate recalls a conversation with Chad, saying she knows Andre could stab her in the back at any moment; she tells Andre he is her husband in name only and isn’t supposed to touch her.  He says he thought they were at least becoming friends and asks, “what’s changed.”  She gets another phone call; they’ve been outbid, once again, on another deal… she stands up and looks at Andre, saying, “this is war."

Chad tells Theo that he really needs to know if anyone is having him work on a secret project; he says Theo has just as much at stake as the rest of them, so if it’s so, he needs to know about it.  Theo takes a deep breath.  Chad tells him he can tell that he wants to say something; Theo recalls his conversation with Kate, saying if Andre suspected anything it would be a disaster and Chad could be hurt.  Theo tells Chad he isn’t doing anything wrong; Chad asks point blank if Andre has put him up to something and Theo says no, “Andre didn’t ask me to do anything.”  He asks them to leave now; as they stroll through the Square, Abby and Chad argue about whether Theo was acting guilty or not.  Chad tells Abigail that he believes Andre is using Theo to ruin the company; she gets defensive and says that Andre loves him and loves their son and would never destroy their legacy.  Chad says not everything Andre does makes sense.  He suggests he could be making an underhanded deal with a competitor.

Eve is pissy with the officers, refusing to answer their questions, being a smart ass; Rafe tells her she may want to cool the attitude.  He says if she doesn’t come up with an alibi for that date, she is going to be in trouble; she looks frantically through her phone to see what she was doing that evening.  Brady tells his grandfather not to worry about the drink he is having; he says he is just toasting the arrest of an enemy.  He reminds Victor that he said as soon as he ousted Eve, he could have control of Titan back; Victor tells him that is not going to happen now because he still has “an alcohol-infused mindset.”  He warns Brady that they could still figure out that he planted the amulet, which makes him look guilty, and since Brady wiped it clean before Eve touched it, Nicole’s prints aren’t on it anymore.

Brady says he still has Nicole’s confession on tape; Victor asks Brady if he’s ready to throw Nicole under the bus, because he might have to defend his own innocence now.  He says he won’t have to; he doesn’t believe Eve can pin the set up on him.  Victor says she might surprise him; Eve, he says, is “a worthy adversary.”

Chloe tries to stop Lucas from having another drink; he tells her its her bar and that’s bad for business.  He takes his drink back; he says he can drink if he wants because Adrian just dumped him.  Chloe says, “wasn’t that like two months ago?”  He snaps, that was the fake Adrian; the real one just dumped me.  Chloe is confused; I guess no one has filled her in yet.  She gets a phone call and has to leave; she tells Lucas to take care of himself.  He says that’s what he’s doing and takes another drink.  Chloe goes to the police station; she asks Eve what’s going on.  They tell her Eve is being held for suspicion of the murder of Deimos Kariakis; Chloe says she barely even knew the guy.  They say she knew him enough to marry him; Chloe is shocked and asks Eve why she didn’t tell her.  Eve says her “secret love isn’t secret anymore.”  Rafe says that only makes it seem worse; Eve smiles.  She says, “Chloe is my alibi.”  Eve insists that either Victor or Brady set her up and they better start looking their direction; Eli considers what she says as she leaves.  Brady is obviously upset when Eve walks back in the door and tells them about her “iron clad alibi” – she thanks Brady for putting her in touch with Chloe way back when.

Sammi tells her dad (Roman) that she thinks Susan Banks is a liar; she says she still isn’t sure that Will is dead.  She says she just can’t believe that Rolf had any feelings for that women, calling her “an orthodontic nightmare.”  Roman says she has a point; Marlena brings up Sammi’s other kids and Roman agrees they need her.  Sammi says, if Will is alive, he needs her more than ever… and she will die trying to save him.  She storms out of the Pub; Marlena and Roman say they can’t stop her because she’s too hard-headed.  Sammi shows up at the police station and tells Rafe she needs to talk to him in private; they go to the park, where she says she has decided to “have Will’s body exhumed after all.”  She says she still believes in miracles; Rafe says he will see what he can do.  He makes a call and tells her they agreed to expedite the process; they can start right now.

11-08-2017 (Wednesday) Listen Closely

Abby and Chad run into Gabi in the Square; Abby mentions that she is going to work for DeMira Enterprises as soon as their “staycation” is over, and Gabi mentions that Kate wants to buy her company to merge with Wilamina whatever and have her come to work for her at DeMira as well.  They all look a little awkward for a moment; Abigail asks if she’s accepted the job.  Gabi says no, because she has some concerns; she says she will turn down the offer if either of them have a problem with it.

Claire gets excited when her tablet starts dinging non-stop; she tells Theo, “I’m trending!”  The new song she posted is “blowing up.”  She says it’s the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to her, except for dating him; Theo says he isn’t surprised.   He tells her he is the reason she got all those followers; she looks confused.  He says he “bought her some followers.”  Claire gets angry; Theo doesn’t understand why.  He thought it would make her happy; she yells at him, it doesn’t make her happy… she says those are “fake likes” and that’s not what she wanted.  He says some of those people might start liking her for real and that will help her numbers keep going up.  She leaves, saying she has to get to work; Theo reminds him that they have plans later, and she says she’ll meet him there, “maybe.”

Kate comes to see Kayla at the hospital; she says the board members would like to know who that large ‘anonymous’ donation was made by, and she’s hoping Kayla can help.  Kayla obviously doesn’t want to tell.  She says the donor wants to remain anonymous; she admits that some people may not feel comfortable where the money came from…but she ends up telling her it was Tripp.  Kate says that might reflect badly on the hospital, accepting “mob money” but Kayla defends the donation.  She says he could have done worse with it; he wanted to do good instead.  Kate agrees it was generous and forgiving, since the hospital is where his mother was murdered.  Says says, “it’s almost saintly” and Kate responds, “Tripp is no saint.”  Kate recalls Theo telling her that Tripp is in no position to judge them for what he overheard; she asks Kayla what she means by that.  Kayla says she shouldn’t have said that; she says he’s just had a rough life, that’s all.  Kate agrees to leave it alone and excuses herself.

Tripp sits on the bench in the Square, looking at pictures of Claire and smiling; Steve happens by and notices.  Tripp tells him he’s just happy for her because she’s a friend; then Claire walks by.  Tripp asks her what’s wrong; she says she just wants to scream.  Theo calls and she ignores the call; she says Theo Carver is the last person she wants to talk to right now.  Theo recalls Claire’s words, “sometimes I feel like you just don’t know me at all.”  Claire explains to Tripp why she got upset; she says she was so excited at first, thinking that these people really liked her song, but it was all a lie.  Kayla recalls her first conversation with Tripp about the donation, and her negative reaction to it; Steve comes in to see Kayla and tells her that Tripp still thinks he wants to go into medicine, even though he knows he could never come back "here."  She tells him about her meeting with Kate today; Steve is upset when she says she told Kate it was Tripp.  Kayla tells him, it’s okay because she didn’t say anything incriminating; Kate listens from behind the doorway.  Kayla goes on talking, saying she would be in trouble if the board knew Tripp was behind all those instances that made her look guilty of killing patients; Kate smiles.

Brady calls a meeting; Eve comes in first, then Eli and Rafe.  He tells Eli and Rafe that Eve is Deimos’ killer; he says she killed him to inherit everything he had.  They have to admit, that is quite a motive for murder; Eli says they should at least check into it.  Eve refuses to say anything until she gets an attorney; Brady says he has “proof.”  He brings up the amulet; Eve denies ever having seen the amulet, but Brady says she’s lying.  Brady calls Henderson, the butler, who had been given instructions to throw Eve’s things out in the yard.  Henderson tells Rafe and Eli that, when he went in her room, he saw the amulet laying in her bag; Eve says he’s lying too, but when she looks in her bag, the amulet IS in there.  She tells Rafe she’s never seen it before; she says Brady set this whole thing up.  Brady says he only wanted her out of his house, but now that he knows she killed his “great uncle” he wants her behind bars where she belongs.

Eve shoves Brady, saying she knows he’s behind this; she says he “wrote the story.”  She tells the officers that this is just revenge because he’s mad that she is now in charge of Basic Black; they question this and her answers only make her look more guilty.  Brady whispers, “you didn’t think this one through, did you?”  She turns, shoves him again and says, “I will kill you for this.”  A death threat, right in front of police officers; not very smart.  Lol.  Rafe tells Eve she needs to come with them down to the station for questioning; after they leave, Brady thanks Henderson for bringing that to his attention; Henderson leaves the room.  Brady goes straight to the decanter and pours himself a drink; he says, “well, that was easier than I thought.”  Victor comes in and tells Brady that he thinks his little scheme was derived by PUI; Brady asks what that is, and Victor answers, “Planning Under the Influence.”  He says, “what if she has an alibi?”  Eve sits in the police station; says she would ‘kill’ for a drink right now.  Rafe says she may want to refrain from using that word; she says to herself, “Brady has messed with the wrong woman.”

11-07-2017 (Tuesday) Extra, Extra...

Gabi talks to Eli about losing hope that Will is alive; Eli moves closer to her, then apologizes because they agreed to take things slow.  She says, “not too slow, I hope” and kisses him; Rafe walks in to see it.  Rafe tells him to go through the stack of files on his desk; Eli says he already did – he says he is a speed reader with a photographic memory.  Rafe orders him to get some coffee then; Eli sits down and says they need to get something straight.  Eli reminds him that he isn’t his boss, he is his partner; Rafe says they do that to all the rookies.  Eli tells him that he doesn’t think this is about him… he thinks it’s about “Commissioner Brady.”

Abigail talks to Chad (in bed) about the “mole” inside the company; Chad asks if she means Andre… she says no.  He suggests they go out to breakfast before going to the office.  She still jokes about whether or not they can get along at the office; he tells her they can do anything together, as long as they keep their priorities straight.  Kate sees Gabi at a table in the Square; she asks how she’s doing.  She compliments her on her new business, Gabi Chic; Kate says she is going to make her an offer she can’t refuse.  Gabi looks nervous.  Kate wants to buy Gabi’s company; Gabi isn’t sure she wants to turn it over to them.  Kate says she has a meeting to get to and asks Gabi to give her call; Gabi thanks her for the offer and says she will call.Brady complains that Deimos left Eve controlling interest in Basic Black; she remarks that if Nicole hadn’t skipped town, she might have kept her on.  She just finished riding, and says “keeping those studs in line” really makes her sweat.

Eric talks to Jennifer; he says he still thinks it’s his fault that Nicole left town.  He tells Jennifer he is grateful he has something to distract him - she says he has lots of reasons to stay in Salem; he says its nice to know that he still has a “few good friends” in his corner.  He thanks her for always having his back; for always being there.Victor tells Brady he is relieving him of his duties at Titan; he says he is a mess right now, making rash decisions and he thinks Sonny is the best one to run the business.  He is putting him in charge as soon as he gets back; he tells Brady he better get his act together.  Brady asks what he means; Victor says he knows that he has been drinking and he doesn’t believe he wants to work on his sobriety, reminding him that he has to do it for himself.  He tells him his assignment, for now, is to take care of Eve.  Brady insists he hasn’t had a drink today, and didn’t have one yesterday; Victor tells him he has a way to go still.Abigail and Chad come into the Pub, kissing; Gabi looks up and sees them.  She nervously gets up to leave; they ask her how she is doing, after the news that Will might be alive.  Gabi says she is doing fine.

11-06-2017 (Monday) Flirting with Danger

Theo tells Kate that he did manage to find out who was hacking DeMira Enterprises after all; he tells her the signal originated from the docks.  Lucas calls his mother, still drunk; he tells her he was dumped first by the fake Adrian and then again by the real one.  Kate says he isn’t making any sense; she tells him he needs to pull himself together because Sammi is going to need his help.

Susan Banks threatens to shoot Sammi; John steps in front of her and pulls Sammi back.  Susan tells them they need to get out of there right now; she says she wants to grieve her son and suggests Sammi try to do the same.  Paul worries about Lucas after Lucas tells him he just saw Will; or is he worried that Lucas really saw Will?  Paul sees the bartender; he thinks it’s Will.  John calls to tell Paul that Elvis is living with EJ’s crazy mother, Susan Banks; he asks if Paul has found anything and Paul says they need to talk about that in private.  John suggests he swing by the hotel to talk to them.  Paul tells John and Marlena that he saw “someone” – he tells them that Lucas was at the bar.  They say they know, he followed them down there.  Marlena says they need to accept that Will is gone and move on; Paul nervously shakes his head.  She says they need to tell Sonny; Paul says he will do that.  John tells Paul he is happy that he and Sonny get the chance to have that wedding and move on, like it was meant to be.

Claire watches Tripp at work, seemingly impressed with his talent for waiting tables; she asks him to show her how he carries three plates at a time.  She is a bit dramatic about asking if she’s “doing it right.”  Then she asks him if her apron is straight; he straightens it.  She asks him to take her picture, holding three plates; he offers to run home on his break to get his phone so he can take her picture.  (Talk about going out of your way.)  Abigail defends Andre, telling Chad she doesn’t think he would sabotage the company; Chad reminds her that he’s done it before… and she helped him.  Theo tells Kate he checked out the building; all the doors were locked and alarmed so he thinks the server is being remotely operated.  He asks if she wants him to break into the building to look for the circuit; she reminds him that would be illegal.  They are interrupted by Tripp, coming in to get his phone; Kate asks Theo if they need to worry about him saying anything he might have overheard to anyone.  Theo says Tripp has done some pretty bad things and isn’t in any position to judge.  Kate tells Theo to explore all other options and then let her know if they absolutely need access to the building; she tells him he is amazing and says she couldn’t do this without him.  She reminds him that Andre cannot get wind of what they are doing.

Abigail tells Chad that she is officially unemployed now and looking forward to starting her new career; Chad asks when she can start.  He tells her DeMira needs her; she jokingly says she isn’t sure and asks if they wouldn’t have a problem working together.  He says he could spend 24 hours a day around her for the rest of his life.  She kisses him; he asks if that means she’s taking the job.  She says she is negotiating; he suggests they take the negotiation upstairs.

Sammi tells Lucas, if she can’t have her son back, she wants to help him out of this downward spiral he’s in; he refuses at first, but then agrees to her request.  She says she has to accept the fact that Will is gone.Elvis comes back and Susan tells him they all came back, and she did what she had to do.  Sammi comes back to tell Lucas that Susan told her she planned to kill Will, to pay Sammi back for EJ’s death… but “Ben Weston beat her to it.”  She says Susan paid Rolf to bring Will back to life, so she could kill him again, herself; crazy.  Lucas asks if Will is alive then or not; Sammi says she still doesn’t know.  ‘Elvis’ tries to comfort Susan; he tells her the past is in the past and they have to let it go.

11-03-2017 (Friday) I Chose You

Kate tells Mr. Shin it was her decision not to acquire that company; she assures him she has everything under control.  She hangs up and says there will be hell to pay when she finds out who is sabotaging them.  Theo waits for Kate at the mansion; he pretends to be there for other reasons when Chad comes in.  He asks if there’s any news about Will and then asks Chad if he has time for a game of chess.  When Kate comes home, Theo gets nervous; after making a thoughtless move, leaving his Queen exposed, he says he needs to leave, claiming to have remembered something he has to do.  Chad wonders why he was acting so weird; he says, it’s like someone is trying to use Theo to further their own agenda – Kate appears nervous – he guesses it’s Andre.

John asks Susan to put the gun down; she asks what they are doing there.  Sammi tells her she’s looking for her son, and they tell Susan what they know at Dr. Rolf; Sammi gets agitated and demands to know if Will is alive.  She reminds Susan she is the mother of her grandchildren, trying to connect; when she mentions Rolf, Susan tells them that Rolf was “smitten” with her and would have done anything for her.  Sammi takes that as further proof that Will could be alive; she demands answers.  Susan says she decorated the room that way to make her feel closer to her boy; it’s a shrine.  She angrily points the gun at Sammi and tells her she blames her for EJ’s death.

Lucas swears he sees Will, behind the bar, unpacking bottles and putting them on the shelf; he says he isn’t that drunk yet and wonders if that could really be Will.  He is surprised when Paul touches him on his shoulder; Paul tells him no one is there.  Paul asks Lucas if he’s okay; he pours himself another glass of whatever it is he’s drinking.

Adrian tells Justin that she broke up with Lucas; she says that kiss at the prison changed everything for her.  He can hardly believe it; he asks if she is really coming back to him.  She says she still cares about Lucas and always will, but she knows now that they belong together.  He says he’s waited a long time to hear that; has asks if she’s sure.  She says, “I chose you.”  They kiss.

11-02-2017 (Thursday) Eve Moves Into the Mansion

Adrian goes to find Lucas at his hotel; he tells her to get lost – says he has lots of drinking to do.  Adrian refuses to leave; she stands outside of his door and threatens to start singing in the hallway.  He lets her in; she tells him it was not her that broke up with him, and does her best to explain.  Lucas can hardly believe it… he asks her if that means they are okay; she hesitates to answer.  He asks if she still loves him, and she assures him she does; he realizes he is not the only one though.  She tries to explain herself, saying, “Justin rescued me” and admits that she felt not only gratitude, but love for him.  She says she still wants to “be there” for him.  He gets angry and tells her he doesn’t need her pity, nor want her love anymore – he says they are over.  She says she still wants to help him, offering to take him to a rehab; he yells at her and says he doesn’t want anything from her.  He takes another drink; she cries and says she is sorry as she walks out the door.  He goes to a bar/pool hall to keep drinking.

Sammi sneaks back into the house she was ordered to stay away from; she is shocked to see large wooden letters on the wall (“E.J.”) above the bed.  She wonders what is going on; Marlena and John show up, trying to save her from herself.  They end up helping her search the house; John finds women’s clothing in the main closet – apparently this ‘Elvis’ is living there with a woman.  They deduce that woman would be “Susan Banks” and just as they do, the door pops open; an odd-looking woman says, “did someone say my name.”

Justin talks to Paul as they wait in the hospital for Sonny to be released; Paul asks Justin what he thinks Sonny would do, if Will were found to be alive.  Justin says he can’t say one way or the other; Justin tells Paul that he knows he loves his son and he appreciates that.  They hug and Paul leaves.  Adrian comes back and tells Justin about her meeting with Lucas; he assumes they are back together, but she tells him they are not, “because of you,” she says.Maggie and Victor talk about how glad they are that Bonnie was exposed as a fraud and that Adrian has been rescued from prison; Eve walks into Victor’s house and announces that she is Deimos’ widow, and says she is moving in to the mansion.

Eve has her ‘assistant’ Lars take her boxes up to her late husband’s room; Victor says she should tell him to take them somewhere else because she isn’t staying there.  Eve insists, they are family now and should stick together.  She suddenly thinks, if Will may be alive, maybe Page is alive too; Victor starts to call Henderson to throw her things out.  Maggie tells Victor he can’t do that; she says she is grieving and she needs some compassion.  He says, “fine” and tells Maggie she can have 24 hours of compassion and then he is throwing her out on her ass.  Eve goes to the Square and finds JJ, but when she isn’t happy with his answer, she heads to the police station.  JJ follows her and apologizes, and comforts her; Lani stands in the doorway watching him.  Eve tells JJ that she is staying in Salem “for good.”

11-01-2017 (Wednesday) Who is Elvis' Roommate?

Sonny Wakes up and thinks he sees Will sitting at his bedside; it’s Paul.  He says it’s okay and tells Sonny he was worried about him.  He wants to get up but before he can, Justin and Adrian come in; she apologizes for missing so much time with him.  Sonny asks his mom if she has talked to Lucas yet; she says when she went to his room, all she found was a bunch of empty bottles.

John and Marlena worry about how to get Sammi out of jail; Lucas shows up at the station to talk to her.  She isn’t happy to see him; he laughs at her when she says they didn’t tell him because they figured he would get into trouble.  She tells him he has to break her out of there; she suggests he pretend to be drunk and cause a distraction.  He tells her he is going to find some real answers, on his own and he leaves angry; Sammi says fine, she’ll get out on her own.  Justin runs into John and Marlena at the hospital; he agrees to help Sammi.

Elvis comes back in his house, telling this unseen person that he “took care of everything.”  He invites him to come into the kitchen while he makes something for them to eat.

Justin comes in and tells Sammi that she is going to be released; he says she has to stay away from the house they were in though; the officer warns her not to violate that restraining order…she sarcastically says she has learned her lesson.  She tells Justin she is headed to the hospital and he finishes her paperwork; when he gets to the hospital, John and Marlena tell him she hasn’t been there.  They figure they know where she went; she is sneaking back into Elvis’ house.  She is stunned when she turns to see the letters E and J on the wall above a bed.

Ariana is upset when she finds out that her daddy isn’t going to be able to make it to daddy-daughter day at Preschool with her tomorrow.  Gabi says she could come read; Ari says she wants her daddy.  Eli offers to take Ari; Ariana says she would like that.

10-31-2017 (Tuesday) A Creepy Night in Salem

Chad and Abby talk about how much fun they had trick or treating with Thomas; she says she can’t wait for next year.  Chad checks his phone; Abby asks why.  He says, “it’s Ben.”  Rafe tries to scare Hope, but his attempt fails; she recognizes his after shave.  JJ and Lani return to the police station to tell Hope and Rafe that Ben escaped; we see someone dressed in scrubs, mask and all, exit the hospital elevator, but are then directed to a conversation between Kayla and Steve.  Of course he is dressed like a cowboy; he says he is going to check on the Pub and asks Kayla to meet him there when she gets off work.  She says she just wants to go home; Halloween isn’t her favorite night after being locked in a coffin last year.  Steve tells her it’s okay because “he’s dead, and the dead are going to stay dead.”    Ben pulls down his mask after entering the morgue; he calls a dead man “sleeping beauty” and pulls out a syringe.

The man who bit down on the cyanide tablet yesterday (Rolf) wakes with a start; he asks who Ben is… he says, “I’m Clyde Weston’s son.”  He tells this man, his dad told him he brought Will Horton back to life and he has a whole list of people he wants him to work his magic on.  Next thing we see, this newly resurrected man is at the graveyard, digging up someone’s grave.  Rafe gets a call from some kids who saw a man in the cemetery ‘disturbing’ a grave; he and Hope go to check it out.  Kayla scares Steve when she shows up at the Pub after all; Steve gets them each a beer.  She talks about not taking life for granted and tells him he has made her happier than she ever expected to be; they kiss.  She is acting weird, he says; she does seem nervous.  A policeman knocks on the door; he tells Steve that his wife was strangled to death tonight.  Steve laughs and says his wife is right here, but when he turns to look, Kayla is gone.

Rafe and Hope stop the man; it is Rolf – Hope is surprised, but he tells her his “return from the dead should not be that big a surprise.”  He speaks into his watch, “activate the satellite” and Hope falls to the ground, eyes closed; when she wakes up, she thinks she is someone else, “Princess Gina.”  JJ, while standing in the Square, thinks about the day he met Page; all of the sudden, she is standing in front of him.  He asks if it’s really her; she says it is.  He hugs her; he says there were so many things he wanted to tell her… if only they had more time.  Lani returns and asks who this is; he, excitedly, tells her this is Page.  Lani just seems irritated; she tells Page she is JJ’s girlfriend and Page gets angry that he “cheated on” her again.  She looks over and sees a pitchfork, and grabs it; she stabs Lani in the stomach.  JJ holds Lani and asks Page how she could have done that; she just laughs and says he’ll have to be faithful to her if they are going to be together again.  She asks him to make love to her, but he pushes her away.  She pulls out Lani’s gun and shoots JJ.

Hope is talking in an accent, she says she despises Hope and tells Rafe not to touch her; Rafe can’t figure out what is going on.  The officer takes Steve to the morgue, where we are shown Kayla on a steel bed; he starts crying.  He hears Ben’s voice; he turns to see him standing there.  Ben says, “I’m really sorry.”  Steve grabs Ben by the throat and strangles him until he stops fighting and falls to the floor.  “Princess Gina” grabs Rafe’s gun and ties Rafe to a bench; she threatens to shoot him, but Rolf says he has another plan.  He gives her two lipsticks; one that is a “protective coating” for her, and the other which is deadly poison.  She gripes about it being “orange” but puts it on anyway; Rafe begs Hope to “come out.”  She kisses him; he dies.  She starts feeling back, saying she can feel Hope still inside of her, and she remembers things… Hope returns to her own psyche and gets upset that Rafe is dead.

Chad calls out to Abigail and surprised when Serena answers instead; he thinks she’s a hallucination.  She says, “weird, isn’t it?”  She looks in the mirror and says she looks pretty good for being a couple years dead, claiming she came straight from the cemetery.  She blames him for her death, saying if he hadn’t chased after her, Ben wouldn’t have killed her.  Abigail comes in and asks who she is; Chad tells her.  Serena says she came to “make things right,” adding, she will get to Ben Weston later.  She jumps on Chad and starts to choke him, then slams his head into the coffee table.  Abby checks Chad and says, “you killed him.”  Serena laughs and tells her “too bad.”  She picks up a statue and throws it at Abigail; Abigail wakes with a start.  It was all HER bad dream.  Hope and Rafe, Lani and JJ sip coffee at the station, talking about what a quiet night it’s been, and Kayla comes home to Steve, saying it wasn’t a bad night at all.

10-30-2017 (Monday) Halloween Comes to Salem

It’s Halloween Eve in Salem; Claire answers the door, dressed in a tiger costume (she’s adorable).  It’s Theo; he forgot his key.  He tells her he has to work and won’t be able to go with her to the costume party after all; he says it’s not really his idea of fun anyway, “standing around dressed up like an idiot, talking to a bunch of other people dressed up like idiots.”  He tries to kiss Claire and tells her she is beautiful; she reminds him that he just said she looked like an idiot.  He says, “yeah, but a beautiful idiot.”  They kiss.  She says she’ll wait while he goes to do what he needs to do.  He goes to the mansion to talk to Kate; she tells him they have been hacked again and she needs him to figure out who did it.  He says that’s strange because they beefed up the security after the last hacking.

Claire comes back in the door, not looking where she’s going and bumps in to Tripp, who is walking around with a towel around his waist.  The towel falls to the floor; she looks at him and laughs, “oops.”  He pulls it up and apologizes; she tells him it’s okay, but says they probably shouldn’t say anything to Theo because he is still having a hard time believing Tripp doesn’t have a thing for Claire.  She says he takes everything so literally, making him jealous may not have been the best move.  But, she tells Tripp, he will eventually for give him, like he did her.  Theo tells Kate he cannot do what she wants; he says it almost got him in trouble the last time and he won’t lie to Claire about what he is doing.  Kate wants complete discretion.  Theo goes back home and tells Claire he’s ready; she says he needs a costume.  He puts on a baseball cap and says he is a “baseball fan.”  She laughs, kisses him and they leave; she almost invites Tripp to go with them, but thinks better of it.

Sammi, John, Marlena, Sonny and Paul go to a house in Memphis, where they find ‘Elivis.’  They question him, but he claims to know nothing about Will; he pulls a gun and tells them to get out of his house.  Sammi mentions Dr. Rolf; Elvis says he knows him – he brought him back from the dead, he says, claiming his “fans demanded it.”  Paul easily takes the gun away from Elvis; Sammi calls the police and says, “a crime has been committed” at this address.  Sonny steps forward and Elvis shoves him back.  He falls, hitting his head on a piece of furniture on the way down; he is out cold.  They call for an ambulance, as well.  When the police arrive, Sammi says this man needs to be arrested, but after Elvis shows his driver’s license, the officer tells Sammi he cannot arrest him.  Elvis says they should all be arrested for trespassing, but the cop is going to let them go, until he reaches for Sammi and she slaps his hand away, scratching him in the process.  He tells her she just earned herself a ride downtown.  After they leave, Elvis turns to someone and says they can come out now “they are gone.”  From this persons perspective, we see them step out of the bedroom door.

Standing by Deimos’ headstone now, Victor and Brady are surprised by Eve; she is wearing a black veil.  She says she wanted to be by her husband’s side; Brady and Victor can’t believe that Deimos married her, but she shows them a marriage certificate.  She tells the story of how she came to see Tate when Brady was in Canada with Nicole, and Deimos was the only one there; they talked, one thing led to another and they decided to get married (I think for Deimos, it was more to stick it to Victor than anything).  She says they honeymooned on a beach somewhere, and then Deimos just left her there… she decided to come back to town when she heard he had died.  She tells them to check out the paperwork; it’s all legal.

10-27-2017 (Friday) Empty

Justin is waiting on the results of a DNA test to prove that Adrian is Adrian and not Bonnie; we all know now (except Lucas) that Bonnie is not Adrian, but it has legally yet to be proven.  Justin tries to talk to Lucas; still drunk and angry, Lucas tells him he doesn’t want to talk to him.  Justin bursts in and tells Lucas he is going to listen to him; he says the Adrian that broke up with him wasn’t the real Adrian.  Lucas says he knows that, but he didn’t realize it wasn’t her until it was over… Justin is confused by this statement, but gets a phone call that the DNA test results are back.  He tells Lucas he has to go, adding, “well, I tried.”  Lucas drinks another mini bottle of liquor.

Sonny visits Adrian, still in prison; he tells her they are doing everything they can to get her out of there.  She apologizes for not being able to be there for him, to comfort him through all of this.  Paul talks to his dad; he says he isn’t giving up – he just doesn’t know how to fight with a memory.  Paul tells his dad that Sonny waited a long time to battle his demons; he says he will wait as long as he needs to for Sonny to get over his. Justin shows back up and tells Adrian that it should only be a matter of minutes before her release paperwork is done.

Eric and Brady fight over Nicole; Eric accuses Brady of making her leave.  Brady says she left because she wanted to – because that’s what she does – and has done, to every fool that’s ever fallen for her.  They literally get into a physical altercation; Victor comes in and stops them.  Eric leaves.  Brady tells Victor that Nicole is gone; he says he told her if he ever saw her face in town again, he’d have her arrested for killing Deimos.  Victor says, “bravo.”  Brady wipes blood from his lip.  Eric goes back to the Center; he flashes back to a letter he wrote, telling Nicole that he was glad Brady was on her side.  Jennifer comes in and sees him; she notices his bleeding hand and asks if he’s okay.  Eric says no.   He tells Jen that Brady did something to hurt Nicole, to make her leave town; he says he doesn’t understand why Nicole would tell him that she still loved him just to leave him the next day.  Jen tells him that she hopes things work out; he thanks her for listening and she says, “that’s what friends are for.”  Brady tells Victor that Nicole and Eric slept together; he was right he said.  When he found out, he said he was done; that’s when he decided to threaten her with the amulet and the recording he had of her confessing.  He said he is happy that Eric’s heart is just as broken as his now, but he feels “empty” – he says, she didn’t get to ride away into the sunset with Eric, but he still feels like she got away with something.  Victor tells Brady that Hope is releasing Deimos’ body for burial; he says they are to only two left to “lay that son of a bitch to rest.”  They put him in the ground and Victor spits on his grave; when they turn around to leave, they bump into Eve, wearing a black veil.

Marlena comes to bail Sammi out of jail; … Sammi says if anyone should be sorry, it’s Hope.  Hope walks in and overhears this.  Hope tells Sammi that she is doing everything she can to solve this case, but she has to stay out of it; she asks if she came up with any information about this Dr. Rolf, who supposedly saved Will’s life and then kept it secret.  Hope says they may know who Rolf was working for.  She gives Sammi an address and tells her to be careful.  Marlena and Sammi find Paul and John in the Square and ask if they want to join them, on a private jet to Memphis, to go look for this man.  They decide to find out what they can for sure before telling Lucas anything; when Adrian gets to Lucas’ apartment, she finds him gone, empty bottles all over the place.

10-26-2017 (Thursday) The Search Goes On

Eric comes to the Pub; Roman wants to talk to him about getting back together with Nicole.  Eric tells his dad that it is already over; he says, “Nicole is out of my life.”  He tells his dad that Brady did or said something that forced her to change her mind about wanting to be with him; Eric says he wants to find out what it is.  Roman gets a phone call about Sammi; he says, she “did what?!”  Hope goes through files on her desk; Rafe comes in and asks, “why in the hell did you do that?”  He is talking about Sammi; Hope says she grabbed her gun and put a man’s life in danger – Rafe asks how she could let that happen.  She tries to explain how it all happened so fast; she says she had to arrest Sammi because somebody could have gotten hurt, saying over and over, “what if?”  She tells him that Rolf killed himself because of Sammi’s actions; Rafe says she couldn’t have known he was going to do that.  He asks Hope to give her a break, saying she was desperate; Hope tells him he is a hypocrite.  She points out what happened with JJ; he says there is a difference because JJ is a trained police officer.  Hope thinks he is just defending Sammi because he used to be married to her; he denies it.  What asks, “what if it was Zach?”  Hope can’t believe he went there; he asks her how far she would go… then apologizes.  She says Sammi went too far, and she wishes he would respect her decision; he says okay.  They call a truce; he hugs her and they kiss.  Rafe says, they must be looking for one scary dude if Rolf chose to kill himself rather than reveal him.

Chad brings Abigail breakfast in bed; chocolate chip pancakes.  He is trying to make their honeymoon special even though they had to stay home; Abby kisses him and pulls him down and they almost tip the tray over.  Jennifer comes to see Kate; she says Kate is “on the ropes” and she is there to ask some questions as a reporter.  Kate insists there is no story here; Jennifer says there has been ever since Andre called that press conference.  Abby and Chad come in the room and interrupting the yelling; Abigail gets her mother to leave.  Kate tells Chad Jen can really be “a witch”; he smiles.  They start talking business; Chad asks how her big idea is going.  She says not so well.  Kate tells Chad every time she targets a new company, it gets bought out from under her.  Chad says that’s an inside job; they both realize it’s probably Andre.  Kate says she knows he can console her with one hand and stab her in the back with the other; she tells Chad she will take care of it.  Jen talks to Abby over coffee in the Square, she talks about Eric.  Jen says maybe with Nicole gone, Eric can finally get past her; Abigail says maybe Jen could help him get past her.  Kate tells Chad they probably shouldn’t tell Abby because she is so close with Andre; Abigail walks in to hear Chad say that he won’t lie to his wife.  Roman comes to tell Kate about Sammi being in jail, and why; Kate is stunned.  She cries, realizing that they are no closer to knowing if Will is out there somewhere now.

Chloe comes to see Brady; she brings him a payment on the loan but admits that she wants to ask what happened with Nicole.  Brady just gets irritated and tells Chloe it’s always the same thing; he gives and gives and loves these women and he still ends up alone.  Chloe tries to find other excuses for his past relationships not working; he tells her not to do that.  He glances over at the decanter; Chloe notices and asks him not to even consider that.  She reminds him of how bad off Lucas has gotten and tells him to just keep focusing on Tate; she invites him to go to the pumpkin patch with her and Parker tomorrow.  He hugs her goodbye and then runs to the decanter and pours himself a drink; he pours it back.  Eric walks in; Brady tells him to tell him how it happened… he tries.  Eric says they wanted to be honest with him; they had a plan.  He demands to know what Brady did that made her change her mind; Brady just shrugs.  He finally says, if Eric “knew the truth” about what she is capable of, he’d be thanking him.  He calls her a “selfish, lying slut” and Eric punches him in the jaw.

10-25-2017 (Wednesday) Hattie, On The Job

Justin does his best to fill Adrian in on everything that happened since she’s been locked up; Hattie is brought to the head of the prison.  Hattie tells her side of the story; the man isn’t sure he believes it.  He says it’s all a little far-fetched for him; Kayla tells this man to review Adrian’s medical records and compare them against the prisoner they are holding as Bonnie Lockhardt.  Adrian is so happy; they tell her about Joey going to prison for killing Ava; she is sorry to hear that.

JJ does his best to crack the code to get into Rolf’s computer; Lani makes a list of all the things they need to find out, if possible: where Rolf went to med school for example.  JJ reminisces about their last adventure together, flying on the plane, etc. …he gets into the computer.  Lani says it looks like he was in to “algorithms and formulas.”  Hope looks at a bank register; Rolf has been receiving large monthly payments from somebody.  Lani says they’ll probably have to jump through hoops to get clearance; JJ says it could lead them to the person paying this money… Hope says, and to if Will really is alive or not.

Sheila tells Bonnie that she wants what she promised her; Bonnie says she ran out of that mansion with the clothes on her back.  She asks if she doesn’t have a friend she could call; Sheila says she thought she did.  Eli tells Gabi that he was a trouble maker when he was younger; he hung out with Sheila and her brother, named Russell, until his mom ordered him to stay away from her.  He says they moved on from petty theft to doing drugs; they were eventually arrested… by him.  He says, later, he got a file that had pictures of Sheila and Russell; he used his friendship to infiltrate a theft ring.  He goes on to tell her that Russell died in prison when a rival gang attacked him.  He says if he hadn’t stabbed his friends in the back, Russell might still be here today.  He says he had the chance to help her again the other day, but he just got hired at the Salem PD; he thanks Gabi for listening and letting him get that off of his chest.  She tells him she thinks h is a great guy.

Sheila and Bonnie talk about old times, forgive each other, hug and say goodbye; Eli finds Sheila standing in the park.  He tells her he wants to help.Kayla and Steve tell Adrian they “ran into a snag.”  They tell her about Bonnie getting away; Adrian agrees to a swab DNA test.  He then tells her that Will might still be alive; “oh my god,” she exclaims.  They are told Adrian’s release may take up to 24 hours; Justin worries that she might be in danger there.  Hattie is offered a job as Adrian’s private bodyguard.
