07-28-2017 (Friday) Watch Out, Chad!

“Marlena” sits on the park bench; Angelika comes through the gate and asks if she was able to talk to Bonnie Lockhart, and if she is willing.  Hattie asks who wouldn’t want to get revenge on the man who wronged her.  Angelika says she needs to focus on using her influence to get Bonnie released from Statesville so she can switch places with Adrian; Hattie says it’ll be a piece of cake as soon as she switches places with Marlena.   Marlena shows Roman a photo of the kids; he says he is going to put it in a frame and hang it up.  He tells her Kayla has been helping him out there at the Pub while she’s on suspension.  They wonder how it could have ever gotten this far; Marlena says it seems like they are trying to push her out.  She says it’s a shame because Kayla is such a wonderful doctor.  He asks if there is any more news on Sonny; she says they might hear something soon.  He notices something in her voice and asks if everything is okay between her and John.  He says, “long distance relationships aren’t easy; they are hard.”  She begins to deny it being a long distance relationship, then realizes it actually is.  She says they are committed though; still she gets lonely sometimes, you know, she says.  She asks about there being any lucky woman in his life; he shrugs his shoulders.  She tells him the right woman could walk through that door anytime now.  Angelika tells Hattie she has to promise not to become fixated on Roman and forget what their purpose is; Angelika gives her a key to Marlena’s townhouse.  Roman thanks Marlena for the photo; Marlena hugs him goodbye.  A man at a table calls Angelika and says, “she set it all up… you’re all clear.”  Hattie heads off; Angelika looks uncertain.

Kayla brings her last box out of the office.  She tells Steve she thinks they should just let the investigation run its course; Steve says he isn’t leaving until he gets some answers.  As they start to walk away, Tripp tells them to wait.  He says he should go with them; Kayla tells him his support means a lot to her, and Steve agrees.  They let him come with them to talk to the nurse Steve suspects.  When Steve begins to question her, she looks at Tripp.  Then she says she’s listening; Steve tells her they believe the charts in question were altered after Kayla made her entries.  She asks if they suspect her of doing that; Steve says he knows she was fired from her last job for insubordination.  She says they are out of their minds and she isn’t going to let them pin this on her.  Steve asks why she didn’t tell the detective that Tripp stopped her from giving the wrong dose of medicine to Hope.  She asks if that’s what they think really happened.  Regardless of Tripp’s insistence, she says she double-checked the dosage and it wasn’t out of line for the ordinary patient; she was just following the doctor’s orders.  She says if the chart was altered, someone else did it, not her; she tells Kayla she respects her and would never do that.  She leaves the room; Steve asks Tripp if he still thinks she’s the one who set Kayla up.  He says he isn’t sure what to say; then he says it has to be because no one else here has a reason, or direct access to Kayla’s tablet.  Kayla says someone else on the staff could have found a way to hack into the system; Steve says he will check that out.  Tripp says he’s going with him; Kayla goes to turn in her badge and keys.  Steve tells her again she will cleared.

Marlena is in her room, in her robe, waiting for John to come home; she hears the door and hollers, “I’m upstairs honey” as she lays back on the bed.  She pours two glasses of champagne and says surprise when the door opens; Hattie says, “right back atcha.”  Steve asks Claire for the schedule of the Candy Stripers; she questions why and Tripp tells her what their suspicions are.  Tripp steps close to Claire and tells her that he isn’t sure someone else actually did this; he says while he’s been shadowing Kayla, he has noticed how distracted she is sometimes.  Tripp leaves to go study the schedule; Steve asks Claire if she’s noticed anyone talking bad about Kayla.  She says, “no.”  She tells him Tripp seems really dedicated; he’s there even on his days off, she says, usually hanging out around the nurses station.  Not where she would want to be in her off time, she adds.

Chad asks Abigail if it’s true she is going with Dario into witness protection; Dario steps in and tells Chad he doesn’t have a right to question his wife.  Abigail asks Dario to tell her talk to Chad; she tells Chad she has to do this.  He brings up “his” son and Abigail says, “he’s my son too.”  Chad says, “not if you are going to abandon him like this.”  Dario tells Abby they need to get going; the FBI is waiting for them, he says.  Chad turns around and grabs Dario, telling him he isn’t taking his son’s mother; Dario says he doesn’t doubt Chad would kill someone who stood in his way.  They begin to struggle with each other and Abigail steps in the middle, telling them to stop; she pushes Chad away and tells Dario if Chad finds out what he did, he will go turn himself in right now, save Sonny, and there would be no reason for her to go with him.  Dario leaves the room; she tells Chad she has to go with him, saying, “it just has to be this way.”  But Chad follows her out of the room, insisting she tell him why she is doing this; she tells him, “I’m doing this for you.”  He says he doesn’t understand, but tells her he, Thomas, JJ, her mother, they all need her there; he begs her not to go and tells him whatever it is they can fix it… he promises.  He tells her he wants her to stay; then he accuses her of being selfish.  She turns away; he imagines Thomas growing up without her, and says he’ll tell him the truth, that she abandoned him because she thought it was for the best.  He yell that he can’t believe she is putting them through this again; he admits that he can’t stop thinking about her, what they had, what they are, what they should have been and everything.  He says he can’t even move on with Gabi because she’s always between them; she asks how.  He pulls the ring out of his pocket, crying, and tells Abby about the fight he and Gabi had; she apologizes.  Then he gets angry and tells her if she leaves, maybe he can be done with her and tells her to go ahead and leave; he tells her she is dead to him, and tells her to do him a favor this time and stay dead (wow… harsh).

Claire comes out and finds Joey staring at Ava’s pictures; when she asks why, he explains the conversation he and Tripp were having and where it led.  Claire realizes how bad that made Joey feel about what he did to Ava.  Joey is about to tell Claire something when Theo walks in; Joey says he needs to go and leaves.  Theo asks Claire if he is alright; she says yeah.  He asks if she’s leaving; dressed in her scrubs, she says, “no, I just dress like this for fun.”  She notices Theo is upset and asks him what’s wrong, promising him that he can trust her; he tells her that Chad is in a lot of trouble.  Just as he begins to explain, Abe knocks on the door and asks for a moment alone with his son.  At work, Roman sees JoeTy standing at a table; he tells him he appreciates a thorough job, but he’s been bussing that table for five minutes now.  Joey apologizes and says he is just worried about his mom; Roman says he has a sense that there is more than just what he says is going on, and tells him to sit down and humor him.  Roman tells him to talk to him; Joey says it just hurts, knowing how much Tripp misses his mom because of what he did.  He says the closer he gets to his brother, the more he realizes how much he hurt him.

Abe tells Theo he wants to talk about what he’s been doing for the DeMiras.  He says he realizes that Theo is his own man, and he hopes he has taught him to make the right ones; he gives the computer back and tells Theo that he didn’t look at what was on there.  He says he was tempted, but he realized he needs to show his trust with more than just words; he says he shouldn’t have taken it and apologizes.  Theo says he loves him; but he explains that the DeMiras are also his family and he is going to do what he can to help them.  “Fair enough,” Abe says, and he asks for a hug; Theo hugs him and smiles.  Abe tells Theo to take care; he says he will.  He opens the laptop the moment his dad leaves, to see that the picture of Chad is still on the desktop; he begins to do what he can to get rid of it.  Chad and Abigail still argue; Dario interrupts and tells Chad to leave her alone.  They push Abby out of the way; she gets a call from Theo.  He tells her he has deleted the picture; he swears Dario no longer has it, on his phone, on the Cloud, anywhere… he says it’s gone.  Abby realizes she doesn’t have to go; lights shine as a car drives by.  Dario ducks out of the way; Abigail screams for Chad to look out.

07-27-2017 (Thursday) Where are YOU Going?

Gabi gets a text about her brother; she tells Chad she has to go be with Dario.  She runs out the door.  Abigail tells Andre she can’t talk on the phone anymore; she says, “guess what mom, Dario is home.”  Andre vows to get back Theo’s laptop, even if he has to “pry it out of Abe’s cold dead hands.”  Abigail asks Dario why he is out; he tells her they let him go while they work out the details of the deal.  Gabi comes over to see her brother; she is surprised when he tells her that Abigail WANTS to go with him into witness protection.  Abigail tells Gabi that she does went to go with Dario, saying, even though the marriage started out as a favor, it has turned into “something else.”  Eli calls Dario to tell him the deal has been accepted; he wants them to come to the station right away.

Abe says he will give the computer back, if they fire Theo; Andre says consider it done, but Chad says, “no.”  He tells Abe, Theo is good at what he does and DeMira Enterprises can use him.  Chad is offended that Abe thinks he would offer Theo a job, if everything wasn’t on the up and up.  Abe says fine then, “if you want the computer back, fire Andre instead.”  Chad says this isn’t who Theo works with; he says he is a good man, he’s a Carver… he assures Abe he will not do anything he won’t approve of.  Chad begs Abe to just give Theo a chance, and him, to show that he has Theo’s best interests at heart.  Abe admits that Chad does make sense; he tells them he will think about all of this.  Abe leaves and Gabi comes back; she tells Chad about Dario going into witness protection and breaks the news that Abigail is going with him.  He says she can’t, assuming she is going to take Thomas with her; he says that’s ridiculous, and it’s not gonna happen.  She tries to tell him about the marriage being an arrangement, but he storms out before she can.  Abby calls Andre; she tells him what’s going on and asks if they got the laptop.  He tells her Abe is holding onto it, but they are going to get it back.  Dario tells Abby they need to get going.

Joey offers Tripp a ‘health’ milkshake; he declines.  They both look like the just got done working out.  They talk about Jade for a while, then Tripp brings up his mother.  Joey gets upset; Tripp asks why.  He tries to share some pictures he made, from the DVD his mother left him, but Joey doesn’t even want to look at them.  Tripp says she looks nice; Joey says, she was good at that.  Joey picks up the photos off the table and starts looking through them; he tells Ava he is so sorry.

Kayla is cleaning out her office; Steve asks what she’s doing.  She tells him they have hired someone else to take over for the time being, and they want the office in the morning.  Joey tells Tripp that his dad was checking out his mom’s computer, to see who else was working all three of those shifts, where Kayla supposedly made those mistakes.  Tripp gets nervous, grabs his bag and says he forgot he needed to go somewhere.  Kayla takes the last of her diplomas off of the wall of her office; she puts it in a box.  Tripp comes off the elevator; he sees Steve and asks how things are going for Kayla.  Steve says he was just helping Kayla pack up her office and tells him there was a huge stack of letters from people over the years telling Kayla how much she helped them.  He complains about the fact that someone would do this to her and swears he won’t stop until he finds who it is and makes them pay.  Tripp looks a little concerned.

Eli tells Rafe that Abby is going with Dario; he wonders why she would be going with him. Rafe notices how nervous Eli is and says Dario must be turning in a pretty big fish; he asks if Abigail knows what she’s getting herself into.  Eli says all he knows is what Dario told him; Rafe says something isn’t right… they are missing something.  Chad walks into their door, just as Dario and Abigail are starting to leave.  He asks if they are going somewhere.

07-26-2017 (Wednesday) Changing the Game

Gabi holds the ring she found in Chad’s pocket; he comes out and she tells him she is sorry for ruining the surprise.  He tells her it’s Abby’s ring and tries to explain, saying he just found it in the drawer when he was looking for some papers.  He picked it up, and then Lucas came over; he says he didn’t know what else to do with it so he put it in his pocket.  Gabi looks as if she is going to cry; he says, “you don’t believe me.”  She says, it’s just everything he told her about what happened that night… the vow renewing, the kiss.  She asks him if he would take Abigail back, if she divorces Dario.  He says nothing would change, but she doesn’t believe him; she starts throwing a fit, yelling and then refuses to stay unless he takes the ring away from her.   He takes the ring downstairs to put it back in his desk drawer.

Abe asks Theo what he is hiding; he says nothing.  Abe asks why he closed the computer so fast then, and why he is acting so weird.  He says it’s just work stuff; his dad looks confused.  He tells his dad he is working for Chad; Abe says, “no you’re not.”  He tells Theo he wants him to quit; Theo says no.  Abe takes his computer off the table; Theo reaches for it, but Abe pulls it away.  Theo tells him he can’t do it; he says he’s done it, and walks away.  Theo looks really unsure about what to do as his father walks away.  Abe apologizes to Valerie for ruining the evening; she tells him the evening isn’t over yet.  She asks Abe why he is so upset about Theo working for Chad; he says he is afraid of history repeating itself.  Valerie asks Abe what he is really afraid of; he explains that he never could trust Andre, and the thought of Theo working for him scares him to death.  Valerie tells Abe she needs to trust Theo; he agrees not to open the computer, right now.  Theo goes to see Kate and Andre; they ask if he deleted the photo; he says, “no.”  He explains to them that his father took his laptop, because he doesn’t want him working for them; Andre says Abe never did like him.  Theo tells them the photo is up on the desktop; if his father opens his computer, it will be the first thing he sees.  Andre says they need to do whatever they can to get it back; they have to protect Chad at all costs.  Chad walks in and asks from what they need to protect him.

Dario tells Abigail he wants her to go into witness protection with him, suggesting she bring Thomas, of course; she asks, “you’re blackmailing me?”  He says, “I love you.”  He says he knows that she doesn’t feel the same way, but he thinks he can prove himself worthy of her love.  She stands up.  She says there is no way she would ever leave her entire family, and take Thomas away from his real father; he says they will find a way to work it out.  She says, no they won’t, because she isn’t going.  He tells her she knows the alternative; she slaps him.  She tells him she knows he tricked her into marrying him and asks how he could try to blackmail her; she thought he was her friend.  He still tries to talk her into going with him, but she says, “no, I won’t be going… not now, not ever.”  Dario looks angry. He tells her the photo is uploaded to the Cloud; he says Chad is going down for Dario’s murder.  She tells him she will figure out how to protect Chad; he tells her she should consider what he proposed – he believes it would be best for everyone.

Abigail goes to see Theo and finds him sitting alone, without his computer; she asks if he found the picture.  He tells her he “hit a little snag.”  Eli tells Lani he appreciates her help on this case; she says she is beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with the FBI.  She asks what’s next; he says they have to wait for instruction and tells her she doesn’t have to stay.  She says she would like to go see JJ; he apologizes for interrupting them earlier, promising it won’t happen again.  He goes to see Dario to talk to him about the witness protection deal.

Kayla is going through old invoices; Steve asks when that became her job.  She says since Roman took the Pub over from their mom and shoved all those invoices in a drawer; she just found them.  He tells her she doesn’t have to do it; she says she does, because its all that is stopping her from going and cleaning out her office.  He assures her she will be vindicated, and adds that she will probably become Chief of Staff.  She tells him she loves him; he tells her she is her first priority.  He talks her into closing up early, “to save a few bucks on next month’s electric bill” and so he can take her home.  When she comes out of the kitchen, all the tables are lit up with candles and there are flowers on one of them; Steve tells her happy anniversary (it’s the date of their first one).  He gives her a bracelet and they dance.

07-25-2017 (Tuesday) FORGIVEN

Jennifer goes to see Brady; she asks why he keeps shoving her and Eric together – she accuses him of trying to put her between Eric and Nicole, saying he must be concerned about them being together.  He admits being a little bit jealous.  She says admitting the problem is the first step; he apologizes and she accepts his apology.  Brady says he is IN LOVE with Nicole and anything that threatens that makes him jealous; when he mentions that they kissed, Jen is surprised.  Brady realizes Eric hadn’t mentioned that to her.  She admits to Brady that she suspected Eric may have some residual feelings for Nicole, but she tells him that Eric is struggling and needs his brother.  Eric takes the letters from Nicole and tells her she doesn’t have a right to be looking through his stuff; she explains she was just looking for a tissue.  She asks what they are and questions why he never sent them.  He tells her just to get back to work; she says fine.  Still, he tries to explain how he tried to find the words; she asks if it helped.

He says the night of the party, what Daniel said to him – he says that’s asking for forgiveness for something that’s unforgivable.  He pulls out a lighter and starts to light the letters on fire; Nicole screams, “no.”  She tells him she realizes that he loved Daniel too, and it wasn’t fair for her to want him to suffer like she did.  She says it was easier to hide behind her anger, but she knows that’s not what she should do – she asks him to let her read the letters.  He concedes and gives them all to her.  The letters say that he didn’t just lose his best friend that night, he lost himself too; his guilt rises and sets with the sun and is in every breath he takes.  Jen tells Brady not to let jealousy get in the way of his happiness; he tells her not to let pride get in the way of hers.  Nicole thanks Eric when he comes back in the room, for letting her read the letters.  She says she should go and asks if she can keep the letters; he says yes and hands them back to her.  She tells him she forgives him, almost crying, and leaves.

Chad stands in his room, looking rather lost; Gabi comes in and notices… he says he has a lot on his mind.  He tells her he lied to her; she flies of the handle and starts guessing all kinds of stuff about Abigail – he tells her that her brother stole from him.  He tells her about the picture Abby showed him; she questions why he didn’t tell her.  Chad says he was protecting her; but he says, it’s out of his hands now.  There’s nothing he can do about it.  She freaks out, wanting to go to the station to see Dario; he reaches out and hugs her, and holds her.  She wonders if this is going to change everything… for Abby and Dario.  Chad says he thinks it will take more than Dario breaking the law to split that marriage up; he leaves.  Gabbi finds Abigail’s ring on the floor of the room.

Rafe tells Dario he doesn’t want to hear a word from his mouth; Dario says he thinks he will.  He says he wants his phone call first though; Rafe calls him a crook.  Dario says he has a get-out-of-jail free card; he says he promises he isn’t the worst person they know.  Rafe tells him to go ahead and talk.  Raines tells Rafe that he and Hope are off the case; he says it has “stink all over it” with him being the accused’s brother.  Eli speaks out and says actually, this is an FBI investigation and he is in charge.  Raines says he can’t just shut him out now; Eli says he is sorry, but he’s pulling rank on this one – he takes Dario into the interrogation room.  Dario tells him he wants to make a deal.  He tells Eli; he swears the information is rock solid.  Eli tells him he might want to consult with his attorney; Dario says his attorney does what he wants.

Abigail calls to find out when she can see Dario; she says he must have his phone with him – she tells Theo he has to find a way to get into that phone – Dario could be using it right now, to hurt Chad.  He inquires about the picture; she tries not to tell him at first, but then confesses that it is a picture that implicates Chad in Deimos’ murder.  Theo says Chad wouldn’t kill anyone; she reminds him that they were all drugged that night.  He says maybe the picture was photo-shopped; Abby says she doesn’t think so.  Theo vows to find the photo, somehow.  She thanks him and says she has to get going; he tells her everyone knows Dario is a liar and he says the photo won’t be there for him prove anything.  She thanks him again.  She goes to the station and finds Hope and Rafe; she sees Dario’s phone on the desk.  She asks if she can have it; they tell her it’s part of evidence.  Eli tells her she can go in to see Dario; he’s asking for her.

Theo gets in, and finds the photo on Dario’s phone (how, without the phone, I don’t know)… Dario tells Abigail that he hasn’t said anything about Chad, yet.  He tells her he has someone else, who he turn in, and go into the witness protection program; she asks if he won’t ever say anything about Chad and he says, “not if you come with me.”

07-24-2017 (Monday) Meet Bonnie Lockhart

Jen writes a note for JJ and Abigail to leave with some of “gram’s donuts” – Eric says they smell like heaven.  Jen is happy to see him; he apologizes for the way he has been treating her, compliments her and then asks if he just made things weird.  She says it’s okay; they are still friends.  Eric says the donuts are a spiritual experience; Jen says her gram adds a special ingredient – love.  She shares a story from her and Hope’s childhood; he thanks her for that.  She mentions something Brady said, but then refuses to tell Eric what he said.  She says when she mentioned that she was okay with them just being friends, Brady told her she should give their relationship another shot.  He apologizes for that; she says it’s okay and tells him he will always be such an important part of her life.  He takes another donut for the road.

Brady wipes dirt off Nicole’s face; she says she and Tate were digging for worms.  He thanks her for being there for him; she says she loves him, as much as she loves his daddy.  She asks if he wants to go out tonight; he says he has too many meetings.  They hear a crash in the other room; Victor has dropped or smashed something (a china figurine) on the floor.  He says he is frustrated because Justin isn’t doing enough to get Sonny out; he says he is going to confess.  Brady and Nicole tell him he can’t do that; Brady tells him they are going to find the real killer and that’s how they’ll get Sonny home.  Maggie comes home, with pictures of Holly.  Nicole sees that she has gotten a tooth; she thanks Maggie for visiting with her.  She can’t believe how she has grown; she cries that she is not there to see it.  She says she has to go get ready for her community service.  She’s all dressed up; Brady admits to her that it still bothers him a little, her working with Eric.  She says when she’s done with her service, she won’t go anywhere near him; he tells her he is really okay with everything, and they are good.  He kisses her goodbye and tells her to text him when she can leave.  At the Center, Nicole cries; she looks for a tissue and finds the letters Eric had written to her.  She picks them up just as Eric walks in.

Adrian stops by to say hi to Marlena, on her way to her follow-up appointment with her oncologist.  They laugh about how busy they’ve been; Marlena says sometimes she wishes there were two of her.  Adrian mentions Sonny; Marlena guarantees her that John and Paul are following every lead.  She says they won’t stop until they achieve their goal.  Adrian thanks her for being her friend and says they need to spend more time together; Marlena says defninitely, they will do that.

Hattie calls her friend “Bonnie Lockhart” (looks like Adrian) – apparently she took the rap for a murder her daughter committed; she says just knowing her kid is out there free and living a good life is worth it.  Hattie asks, what if she could get her out of this “hell hole.”  Bonnie listens.  She says she has a bonafide get out of jail free card; she talks about getting revenge on some Warden Kariakis.  This Bonnie talks about Maggie Horton and how she wants revenge on her; Hattie says they can get pay back.  She mocks how Maggie went from Mickey to Victor without hesitation; Hattie fell her friend in on her plan.  She wants her to impersonate Adrian Kariakis… Bonnie is stunned when she looks at Adrian’s picture; she says they could be twins.  Hattie says she knows; she explains how they are going to work together, as Adrian and Marlena – a chance for them to live their dreams she says.  Bonnie agrees to do it.

John asks Xander if Victor sprung him so he could go murder Deimos; he doesn’t admit anything. He says there is a long list of people who hated Deimos; people who are already in Salem.  John thinks it’s true.  John asks Xander, if it is true, what he’s doing back in here, instead of kicking it back on a beach somewhere.  Xander tells John if he finds a way to get him on that beach, he’ll tell him everything he needs to know. John says he needs something concrete; Xander says he needs some incentive and assurance.  John tells him “no deal” unless he makes a full confession right now; Xander says he hopes Sonny enjoys his day with the electric chair.

07-21-2017 (Friday) Xander's Denial

Claire tells Theo she knows he still cares about her, because she found the blanket over her when she woke up.  She asks him why he can’t give them another chance; he says he feels weird being with her around Hope and Rafe because they saw the video.  She asks how being ‘friends’ instead is supposed to fix that; she tells him she can’t just flip a switch like that and stop loving him.  He says he has to go; Marlena steps off the elevator.  Claire runs to her grandma and hugs her.  She tells Claire she can either try things Theo’s way or break things off with him completely; when Claire sees Theo again she tells him it wouldn’t hurt to give the ‘friends thing’ a try.  He says he’d really like that.

A man brings John more footage; he tells Paul they are going to go through it frame by frame and look for evidence that it was Xander that murdered Deimos. They find no indication on the footage that Xander ever left his cell; Paul says he had hoped to take good news back to Sonny.  John says they are still missing something.  He tells the man they would like to see Xander for themselves now.

Hattie still fidgets with Marlena’s clothing; Angelika tells her she needs to get comfortable with it, to which Hattie scoffs.  Angelika reminds her that if she isn’t able to pull this off, she is going to be right back behind bars.  She says its not enough to look like Marlena, she has to act like her; she reminds her of all she has at stake here.  Hattie nods in agreement.  She tells her the next phase is making a return trip to see her friends at Statesville prison; Hattie says that’s cool.  There’s someone there she’d like to look up.  Angelika tells her recruiting this particular person is crucial to the plan; Hattie tells her “it’s in the bag.”  Hattie goes into the prison as herself; she says hi to the guard.  He tells her to sit down; says they are bringing down her friend now.  Her friend says she is a sight for sore eyes.

Hope tells Rafe, “it’s Dario.”  He looks disappointed.  She says the FBI as connected Myron and he has already made a deal; he told them he and Dario were in on this together (so Myron is lying to Dario).  Rafe says he prayed this would be a wake-up call for Dario; he shakes his head and says he hoped he had changed.  He says he should have known when he pulled that stunt on Abigail; Hope asks, “what stunt?”  He tells her about Dario’s immigration issue.  Hope is mad, saying she could have had a chance to talk Abby out of making the biggest mistake of her life.  Rafe says he didn’t tell her because he didn’t want her to be part of another cover-up; he says Raines would fix it so she’d never be a cop again.  She reminds him he is in on it too; they agree this is a disaster.  Rafe is frustrated that his Abby put her life on the line for Dario and he couldn’t even shape up for her.Xander mocks John and Paul when they arrive; he says he’d like to dance on Deimos’ grave. He says he didn’t think Sonny was man enough to do that; Paul grabs him by the shirt and tells him not to talk like that.  John pulls Paul off and tells them to “cut the crap” and get to questions – they tell Xander about the phone charger and the magazine.  He says he’d have to be Houdini to get out of there… or Victor Kariakis, he says.

Chad goes to the club and tells Dario that he wants what he stole from him; he tells him the clock is ticking.  Dario says he wouldn’t make threats if he were him; he fidgets with his phone in his hand.  Chad asks, “why is that?”  He shows Chad the picture and tells him if he makes him pay, Abigail will pay too, as his wife; he says it would hurt Gabi too, and he knows he would never do anything to hurt them.  Chad tells him, what he took from him, he will get back; he leaves.  Andre refuses to believe that Dario has any proof that Chad killed Deimos.  She swears he does.  Kate asks if she is being melodramatic again; she says everyone despised Deimos.  Abby tells her about the picture Dario has… Chad, wiping his fingerprints off of the knife in Deimos’ chest.    Kate asks what Chad said when she told him; she says she hasn’t told him yet.  Kate asks why not; Abigail says she’s afraid he will go to the police and confess.  They begin to wonder where Chad is right now; Kate says she hopes he isn’t with Dario.  Andre asks how Dario could think he’d get away with blackmailing her; Abby says he is desperate… his whole life is falling apart.  They mock the marriage, like theirs, as a business arrangement; Abigail tries to deny it.

Kate says Dario told her the truth; she her he could have handled his immigration issues all by himself – he didn’t need to marry an American citizen – he just wanted her (Abby).  She says all he had to do was re-file some paperwork.  Abby looks devastated, knowing he lied to her.  But, she says, the story about the drug gang trying to kill him is true; she had it checked out.  Andre says their focus should be on getting that picture off of Dario’s phone; Andre says he may know a way to eliminate the threat permanently.  He calls someone and says he needs to see them right away.  It’s Theo, who shows up promptly.  Andre tells him to hack into Dario’s phone and find this certain picture; Theo says he can do that, and offers to delete any extra copies from the Cloud.  Abigail says he doesn’t have to do this; Theo says as long as it will help Chad, he’s fine with it.  He promises he won’t say anything to anybody this time; they thank him and he goes home.  Chad comes home; he says Theo passed him in the driveway and acted like he didn’t see him.  Kate says maybe he didn’t see him.  He says it seems like something is going on; Andre and her insist its just business as usual.

Dario is surprised to see Rafe and Hope when they walk into the club; Rafe pulls out his handcuffs.  Dario asks if this is a joke; he pulls away.  Rafe tells him not to add resisting arrest to the charges; Dario says whatever Myron says, he’s lying.  Abigail asks what’s going on when she comes back and sees Dario in handcuffs; they say they are taking him downtown.  He tells them, just so they know, he could give them a way “bigger fish” than he.  Abby looks very worried.

07-20-2017 (Thursday) Chad?

Andre tells Thomas that he believes his grandfather has risen from the ashes again; sometimes he feels like he is there watching them.  Other times he wonders if he’ll ever see his father again; Kate listens to him talking.  He apologizes; he tells her he is troubled because he can’t believe someone could break into DeMira accounts and they didn’t even see it coming.  She tells him Chad knows who did it; he demands to know.  She plays coy.  Thomas starts to cry; she offers to feed him.  Andre tells her to “spit it out,” referring to her as “woman.”  She flings a spoonful of applesauce at him; it lands on his glasses.  He laughs about how good it tastes; homemade by cook, he says.  He takes the bowl back from Kate and demands she taste it; he flings some at her and it lands on her shirt.  She tells him he is going to regret that.  He laughs.

Myron compliments the quality of their most recent work; he says they could pass those bills anywhere and no one would know the difference.  Dario gets a call; he says “you can’t keep calling me” reminding the person they are a silent partner.  Gabi comes in and he tells the person he has to go; Gabi asks what’s going on.  He says he’s just fighting with a vender who is trying to rip him off on prices; she talks about her concern for Sonny, saying Ari can’t grow up with a father in prison.  She says, if he killed Deimos, he doesn’t remember doing it; Dario says that’s because he didn’t do it.  Gabi asks how he knows that.  He says JJ could have done it; Gabi snaps at him.  Dario asks if she still has a thing for JJ; she looks down.  JJ tells Lani it’s sexy to watch her getting dressed too.  She can’t believe she lost track of time and says Eli is going to be mad at her.

Rafe finds Hope looking through Steffano’s case file; she says Deimos’ murder has brought up a lot of memories.  She thought she had lost everything; Rafe reminds her she didn’t.  She asks him what he thinks about taking a little trip to Greece; he says Raines would never approve of that.  She says even if she has to work it alone, she is not giving up.  Rafe tells her he is going to meet Dario and Gabi for a late family breakfast.  Eli tells Hope that Lani is finally on her way; he also tells her they have found out the hacker was a Myron Raddick(?).  Hope says she knows Myron.  Eli chews Lani out when she gets there, asking how he can count on her to have his back if she can’t even be on time.  Hope comes out and says it looks like everything is tracing back to Rafe’s brother; she can’t believe it’s Dario.

Chad knocks on Abby’s door; he asks if she’s avoiding him, ignoring his calls and his texts.  He asks if she confronted Dario or not; she says she did, but tells him it is going to take a little while – she asks him to give Dario a little more time.  Chad asks why she is keeping his secret; she tells him he can’t do that.  He asks why; she asks if he really wants to do that to the woman he loves, because everyone knows how much Gabi means to him.  He looks confused.  He recalls them exchanging the renewal of their vows that night; seems like Abigail is remembering it too.  They stand in silence.  Chad says it’s strange how the memories from that night just come and go; he says when they come, he always feels like something is missing and he just can’t grab on.  He tells her he doesn’t have much time; he says, eventually he is going to have to make that call to Rafe, so he hopes whomever she is protecting is worth it.  He leaves.

Chad sees JJ in the restaurant; JJ tells him to sit down and tell him what’s going on between he and his sister.  He says he has to go.  Chad can’t get the images, and words out of his mind, asking Abigail if she wants to be his wife again; Gabi approaches him, asking where he was.  He tells her he had to meet with Abby; she asks why.  He says he had to talk to her about Dario; she asks if they came to some kind of agreement.  He says they are still working on it.  Rafe talks to his brother; he asks how things are with him and Abigail.  He says good; Rafe throws out, except you love her and she doesn’t love you… not yet, Dario says.  Rafe asks if he really thinks he can make Abby love him; Dario laughs at the use of the word “make.”  He says he just believes she will love him after she sees what a good husband he can be.  Myron comes in and tells Dario that he was at the police station; he says they were on a fishing expedition.  They were talking to a bunch of IT guys about the hacks; he says they don’t have a clue about them.  Dario says good and tells him to get cracking on those counterfeit bills; in a couple of days, he says, they will both be very rich men.  When Rafe comes back to the station, Hope says there is something she has to tell him.  Abigail tells Andre that Chad killed Deimos and Dario has proof; she says the proof is enough to send Chad to prison for the rest of his life.  Kate walks into the room and yells, “no.”

07-19-2017 (Wednesday) So Many Strings

Kate runs into John in the square; he thanks her for the nice welcome home.  He looks around for Marlena; he says he left a message for her to meet him there.  Angelika walks into an office and finds “Dr. Evans” sitting behind the desk; she says, together, they are going to bring Adrian Kariakis down once and for all.  Marlena smiles.  (Is this really Marlena?)  Justin sits down with Adrian, and tells her she is absolutely glowing.  She says she couldn’t believe the bank backed the loan; she’s thinking Lucas might have had something to do with it.  He gets especially annoyed when she goes on about how “quietly protective he is.”  Angelika says the barracuda probably pulled her "damsel in distress act" and got some man to back her up; Marlena says her obsession with Adrian is bordering on pathological.

Angelika admits that she needs her, although she doesn’t like it – she says how else would she pull one over on the whole town of Salem, including “Marlena’s lapdog John Black.”  Marlena’s expression changes to a scowl.  Angelika tells her not to worry; she says he won’t find out until she gets what she wants here.  Marlena says, provided she gets what she wants also.  Angelika says ‘Marlena’ will get exactly what she promised her, as long as she does what she told her to.  Marlena tells her she needs to watch herself, saying her mood swings are going to bring down their whole plan; she says people are going think she has a bi-sexual disorder.  Angelika corrects her; that’s bipolar disorder, she says.  She says she thought Hattie would have thicker skin; Hattie shrinks in the chair.  She strips off her clothes and says she is tired of doing this; she tells Angelika to find someone else to play the part.

Marlena meets John in the Square; Paul shows up and tells him they have to save Sonny.  Kate comes home; Lucas tells his mom that Chad knows who “jacked” Wilamina, but he won’t tell.  Kate asks who he is protecting.  Paul tells John and Marlena about the key card and the magazine; he says he thinks Xander was involved, assuming he got out of prison and then returned.  John says that’s quite a stretch; Paul says that’s why he needs his help – he apologizes to Marlena, saying he needs to take him away again for a while.  Hattie asks Angelika what her stake in this is; she says, if all goes according to plan, she will get a chance at love too – with Justin.  She asks how her being “Dr. Marlena” helps Angelika get Justin; Angelika tells her to sit down and says she’ll tell her.

Chad tells Kate he promised the hacker they could have a chance to make things right; from that, Kate deduces that he is protecting Abigail.  She says it’s one thing to protect your wife, but she reminds Chad that he and Abby are no longer married and says she isn’t going to let the business go down for her.  Dario mocks Abigail for still being concerned about Chad.  John kisses Marlena goodbye again.Abigail tells Dario this is going to end now; she shows him the proof she got with Theo – the flash drive.  She slaps him in the face; she berates him for trying to steal her son’s inheritance.  She tells him if he doesn’t return everything, she is going to go to the cops; he tells her if she goes to the cops, it is her precious Chad who will be going to prison.  He says he’s talking 25 to life; he tells Abby Chad is the one who killed Deimos Kariakis.

Lucas comes to see Chad; he catches Chad staring at Abigail’s ring, which she gave back when she backed out on renewing their vows.  He tells Lucas he called him over because he found out who has been stealing their company’s money.  He says he can’t say who told him because it could put them in danger; he asks Lucas to prepare a press release to let their investors know that everything is okay.  Dario tells Abby it’s true… Chad killed Deimos.  He says he had every reason; personally, what Deimos did to Gabby and her, and, he messed with Chad’s business and Chad doesn’t like to be messed with, he adds.  She says she was with Chad the whole time that night; he was no where near the party, she says, so he has no way of knowing.  Dario tells her that’s not true; he shows her a picture of Chad, holding onto the knife in Deimos’ chest.  It’s a pretty clear picture, he says; it appears that he is trying to wipe the knife clean with a napkin.

Dario tells Abigail he worked like a dog so he could come back to the party and surprise her; instead, he saw that.  He says she should be thanking him for keeping it quiet as long as he has; she asks why he did… he says he figured Chad did them all a favor, and it was keeping the cops busy.  Abigail says Gabi won’t forgive him if he sends Chad to prison; he laughs and says, “that’s true… she loves him, almost as much as you do.”  He asks her to still give him a chance to make her happy, and tells her Chad’s future is in her hands.  Chad absolutely refuses to tell Kate about Theo; Kate steps closer to Chad.  Lucas wishes him luck, and leaves.  Lucas finds Justin hugging Adrian at the Pub and says he is using her concern for Sonny to try to shove him out of the picture; Adrian interjects and tells them to stop it.  She tells them both to grow up and walks out the door; Lucas follows her.  Chad calls Abigail; he leaves her a message telling her he is worried about her and asking her to call.  Abby sits at the foot on the bed (on the floor) wondering what to do.

07-18-2017 (Tuesday) Guessing Game

Dario confronts Chad in the park; they exchange insults and Chad tells Dario he will be watching him.  Dario shrugs his shoulders and says, “okay.”  He says Chad is jealous that he “won.”  As they look at Dario’s financial records, Theo tells Abby there is something personal going on here; he says he is not just stealing from strangers… he tells her the code belongs to DeMira Enterprises – they drained all of the accounts he says.  She asks how long it is going to take to download because they need to get out of there; they hear talking in the hall.  Theo closes the computer and they hide; Dario comes in and leaves again.  Theo checks and sees that it’s done downloading; they grab the flash drive and get out of there.  Theo gives the drive to Abby and says she knows what he thinks she should do with it; she leaves.  He calls somebody and says he needs to meet with them right away.  He goes to see Chad and tells him everything; he says he knows Abby will probably be mad at him, but he is really worried.  Chad hugs him and says he did the right thing; he promises Theo it will be okay.

Steve tells Tripp that he believes he knows who is trying to set Kayla up; Tripp looks a little nervous.  He questions who; Steve says this nurse named Shelly – the one who almost gave Hope too much of that sedative.  Steve questions what Tripp knows or has heard about this nurse; he says she does bad-mouth Kayla quite a bit.  Steve says when he finds out who is doing this to Kayla, they are going to pay; Tripp flashes back to him changing the dosage in a patient’s chart.

JJ and Lani make plans for tomorrow; they are off duty and all he wants to do is focus on her, he says.  He tells her he is moving into the new Martin House, so he’ll have his own place soon; they toast to good news.  They notice Tripp sitting alone and invite him to join them at the bar; they talk about Kayla.  JJ says he can’t imagine why anyone would be doing that and Tripp remembers messing with her patient records again.  He thanks them for the company and excuses himself; Lani tells JJ it seemed like something was bothering him.  JJ says he just wants to talk about her; she says she may not want to talk at all.  He invites her to take a look at his new place, to give him some ideas about décor.  They are half naked by the time they get to the room.

Steve runs into Angelika in the park; he asks her why she wants the paper so bad.  She admits it’s because its means so much to Adrian; she wants to take something she loves just like she took Alexander, she says.  Jennifer and Adrian talk to Mr. Helms, the bank manager.  Adrian brags that their readership is up 4%; they ask him if they can get money from the city to keep the paper running.  He agrees to back them because of their strong dedication; he says he will pay off the outstanding loan immediately.  He shakes their hands and tells them to keep up the good work.  Justin shows up after the ladies walk away; he thanks Mr. Helms.  Mr. Helms says he knows he had nothing to do with that.  He comments on Justin’s dedication to his ex-wife; Justin says he’s glad to be doing it for Adrian, but it’s also very satisfying to be screwing over a truly horrible person like Angelika.  He says its because of him that she’s going after Adrian in the first place.

When the ladies tell Angelika they are getting the loan paid off, she can’t believe it; she gets the call informing her it is in the process.  She smirks that she has only hit a little snag here and tells the ladies this isn’t over; Adrian tells her she loves her shoes, especially as they are walking away.  She and Jen laugh.  Justin shows up and Adrian shares her good news; the bank agreed to secure their loan on the paper.  Jen tells Steve that Angelika said if they think they’ve won, they are mistaken; he tells them about breaking into her hotel room with Kayla, and hearing the conversation about Adrian.  He questions what they think about Alexander; Justin says he doesn’t believe he would ever conspire with his mother against Adrian.  Adrian calls and Alex swears he hasn’t talked to his mother recently.

Abigail calls Dario and says she needs to see him at home; Chad shows up at her door, pissed off that she involved Theo.  She tells Chad he will get his money back and begs him not to do anything to Dario.  She says if he sends him to prison, she will never forgive him; Chad leaves, angry.  Steve pays some intern at the hospital to tell him what he knows about Shelly’s beef with Kayla; he says she thinks “that cow (Dr. Johnson) should be put out to pasture.”

07-17-2017 (Monday) A New Memory

Abby makes sure Chad isn’t home and tells Andre no one can know she is there; they start to fight over her choice of husbands, then Andre asks why she came to see him.  She tells him it would help him to stop Dario from encroaching on DeMira property; she tells him Dario is counterfeiting money, and something else but she doesn’t know what it is.  She wants him to help her stop it before it’s too late.  Andre asks if she thinks it’s possible for Dario to be legit, given his father’s history; she thinks he can and asks him to use his resources to get into Dario’s work computer.  Andre says he has the perfect guy for that.  He promises her his IT guy will be discrete; she thanks him.  Theo shows up; he asks what job he needs him to do.  Abby has a bit of a problem with Theo being involved; Andre tells her she can trust this man with her life.  Theo isn’t sure he wants to get involved, but he agrees to do it for Abby; Andre tells him they need him to hack into TBD’s corporate records.  Abigail tells him he doesn’t have to if he doesn’t want to; Theo says if it will help her, he will do it.  Abby calls and finds out Dario and Myron will be out of the office for a couple of hours this afternoon; Theo gets into the financial records and says he’ll put it on a flash-drive so they can look at it later.  He notices something right away though; Abby looks.

At the Pub, Lani walks right into Eli and spills her coffee all down both of their shirts; they start talking about the case.  Eli says it sounds like she and JJ are doing okay; she says everything actually brought them a little closer.  A little uncomfortable, Eli tells her that’s really good and says he’s happy for her.  He meets his mother in the square and they joke about his Aunt Julie trying to set him up with a girl; she says there’s a few cute ones at the hospital that might be right for him too.  He gets a call about a new assignment; Lani sees her father at the Pub.  He asks how the investigation is going; he heard about the new evidence she found.  She tells her dad she plans on working toward Lieutenant.  He says he has a feeling she’s just getting started.  Eli sees Lani in the park; he tells her about his new assignment and says his boss told him to chose any officer he wants.  He tells Lani, he wants her.

Rafe tells Hope he “broke the news” to his mom about their engagement; he says she is actually truly happy about it and welcomes her to the family.  They wait anxiously for the results from the lab; she is still convinced Xander is not in that jail and is the one who killed Deimos.  She says, whoever it is, tracking him down is the first step to freeing Sonny.  Paul tells Sonny that and he doesn’t have one doubt in his mind about that he is absolutely innocent; Justin talks to Marlena about hypnotizing Sonny to see if he can remember anything more that might exonerate him.  She says she could do it right now; they head to the police station.  Sonny tells Paul he knows he has put his whole life on hold to be there with him; Paul says there’s nowhere else he wants to be.

Marlena and Justin come in; Sonny invites Paul and Justin to stay for the session.  He remembers moving Deimos’ dead body; he says he was afraid he would be in trouble.  Marlena ends the session; as she’s leaving, she notices Hope’s ring and hugs her.  Justin tells Sonny to hang in there and hugs him goodbye; Paul holds him for a moment.  Hope says results are back from the lab; she tells Rafe he isn’t going to believe it.  Hope says it was Xander’s prints on the magazine; Rafe says he can’t be two places at once, and he’s supposed to be locked up in a Greek prison.  Paul calls a friend of his and says he needs their help; somewhere, behind bars, we are shown Xander, reading Busty Broads Monthly.

07-14-2017 (Friday) CONFLICTED

Steve goes to the Pub and is surprised to see Kayla there; she says Roman asked her to fill in.  He says she should enjoy her time off while she has it, because it won’t be long until they clear her; she worries that maybe she was really distracted and got those dosages wrong.  He says it doesn’t make sense when a doctor that hasn’t made mistakes in years, suddenly makes three mistakes in a short period; that doctor she is being set up.  She says she never thought about that; she’s afraid to even go there.  Steve promises her he will find out who it is and stop them; he kisses her goodbye.  He goes to the hospital to ask some questions; the nurse he speaks to is kind of a bitch to him.  She says Kayla is the only one who knows her password; then adds, maybe Kayla should have been happy being a nurse.

Tripp holds Jade by the arms and tells her to tell him what she knows; she resists, ranting about how much Kayla hates her.  He asks what kind of game she is playing; she says she’s not playing games, she just doesn’t want to see him get in trouble trying to destroy her.  He asks if she is starting to feel sorry for her too; she says no, but he needs to focus his energy on something that matters and will make him happy.  She says she’s only saying that because she cares about him because he’s been a really good friend to her.  He asks if she really cares about him; he says he thought she was all about Joey.  He says the best way to forget someone is to fall for someone else, and he kisses her passionately.  She tells him she is really hot and a great kisser, but she is so confused; then she tells him she’s going on this trip with her mom – he says now he’ll miss her.  She tells him to text her and keep her updated on what’s happening with Kayla.  Tripp goes into the Pub; he talks with Kayla and realizes how truly good she really is.  He tells her she won’t lose her license; he knows she didn’t mess up those dosages, he says.  She makes him a burger, “on the house” and they talk; he mentions Jade leaving town and notices that she seems happy.  She tells him she hopes he isn’t getting “taken” by her too, and starts to talk about her as obsessive and possibly dangerous; he compares it to the way everyone talks about his mom and ends up getting pissed.  He tells her he’s lost his appetite and leaves.

Steve comes in and she tells him about their conversation and Tripp's response; she says no matter what he says, he is not over what happened to his mother.  He tells her about the comments the nurse made about her, and nursing not being good enough for her; he wonders if she (Shelly?) is the one who is setting Kayla up.Eric asks Nicole if she is going to tell Brady about them kissing or not; she hesitates to answer.  Then she says she knows what she has to do; Brady walks in the door.  She tells him; he gets upset (mostly I think because he knows she’d been keeping it from him).  He leaves; she follows.  She tells him she really just remembered this earlier today; he asks her what triggered the memory.  It was Eric saying he thinks he had done a bad thing, she says; she tells him the kiss happened because of Daniel.  She tells him the halo caused them both to hallucinate, seeing Daniel; she tells him what Daniel said to them and says she thought she was kissing Daniel.  She tells Brady she loves him and asks him to please forgive her; he apologizes for doubting her, calling himself a Jackass.  They kiss and hug.  He tells her he understands and thanks her for making him understand; looks like they are going to make love.

Dario comes out of the bathroom; Abby holds up the money and asks if he has been lying to her.  He smiles; he tells her that’s the take from the Club, he just didn’t get a chance to deposit it.  She sort of buys the story and apologizes; she says she has to go in to work for a while and she’ll see him later.  She goes to work, but to see a ‘friend’ who owes her for invoices he didn’t get turned in on time and she covered; she tells him she needs a listening device.  At home, she overhears Dario talking to Myron about counterfeit money that someone found this morning.  She looks around the room and finds another bag.  Abby goes to the Horton Center and tells Eric she could use someone to talk to; she tells him she found out Dario is doing some illegal things.  She says he’s not a bad person; he just makes bad choices.  She says she has to help him so he doesn’t end up in jail or dead.  Dario comes home and asks Abby if she wants to go to the lake; she says she is going to a movie with a friend from work.  She takes a “rain-check” on the lake.  He tells her she could quit her job if she wants; she says she likes her job and leaves.  She calls Andre; she tells him she needs his help.

7-13-2017 (Thursday) Will Jade Spill the Beans?

Abigail wakes up with Dario asleep on the floor next to the bed; he tries to kiss her at the breakfast table and she pulls away.  Her mother comes to talk to her; she is worried because Abigail is putting herself through this and she can see the sadness.  She urges her to reconsider the arrangement before something goes horribly wrong.  Abby reminds her that she agreed to support her decision; Jen asks if Dario is really worth the trouble.  Dario is planning a surprise for his bride; Brady overhears him talking on the phone and asks who the lucky girl is.  He is surprised when Dario tells him it’s Abby.  He accuses him of playing some kind of game and tells him if anything happens to Jennifer’s daughter, he will be answering to him; Dario tells him to mind his own business, laughing about what just happened to the last CEO.

Dario comes in to hear Abby and her mom arguing; he promises that he will never do anything to hurt her daughter.  She leaves, saying she has to go to a meeting.  Dario tells Abigail he will not betray her trust or make her regret what she has done for him; she says she hopes not and tells him she has to run a few errands.  He says he’s gonna shower and will see her later at the Club.  Abby overhears Dario talking suspiciously on the phone, then sees him hide something under the bed; when he goes into the bathroom, she looks.  There’s a bag, full of crisp new dollar bills.

Jade tells Eric that he was right when he told her she shouldn’t make any man the center of her universe; she asks him what to do first.  He says to put her energy to a good focus; Jade thinks she knows what she can do… she begins to talk about her “Nanna” who recently passed away and her mom who is a whole other story.  She called and asked Jade to spend the summer with her, helping her clean out her grandmother’s stuff; Eric urges her to go.  She tells Joey that she would much rather stay here with him, hinting to see if there is even a sliver of hope for them; he tells her he will always care about her  but he thinks she should go be with her mom.  She tangrily tells him she’s been loyal to him, then dumped on the side of the road like trash; she brings up the secret she’s been keeping, then says maybe he’s not worth it.

Tripp tells Kayla that he isn’t sure being a doctor is really for him; he says he doesn’t think he can measure up to her and everything she does.  She insists he has a gift, asks him to just look over the study guides and think about it; Steve tells him in his experience Kayla is never wrong about anything.  He tells her he still wants to do rounds with her; she introduces him to Scott Mitchell, Chairman of the hospital Board.  He tells her they need to talk before she goes to see her patients.  He tells Kayla that they discovered the dosage of Morphine she gave her patient, Mr. Sherman, who recently died was “way over the standard” and may have contributed to his death; she is being suspended immediately.  He is scheduling a formal review and she says she will arrange for someone to take over her patients right now; Tripp tells her he is “so sorry.”  Steve asks Joey if he’s feeling alright; he says he is just “not feeling it I guess” – Steve tells him he needs to get inspired, but Joey has no idea what he wants to do with his life.  He admits that maybe he’s feeling a little bit jealous of Tripp.  Plus, he says, he has a feeling he isn’t done paying for killing Ava.  He admits to his dad that he is going to miss Jade when she leaves.  Kayla calls to tell Steve she is being investigated; he tells her he will be right there.  Steve does his best to assure Kayla that it will be okay; he says they will fight this and she will be vindicated.  She says maybe she doesn’t deserve to be; he says something is off and he will find out what and clear her name.  Tripp meets Jade in the park; she tells him she is taking off.  He says she is supposed to help him, but she reminds him that he was having second thoughts about taking Kayla down; he admits sometimes he does feel sorry for her.  Jade says maybe he shouldn’t destroy her after all; she says, “she’s not… (and then stops).”  Tripp asks what she isn’t telling him.

Nicole is on the phone with an agent of the Court who questions her past work for Mr. Brady; she calls Eric and tells him she needs to see him right now.  She tells him that she remembers him telling her he did a bad thing that night; he remembers and wonders if that bad thing was sticking that knife into Deimos’ heart.  She reminds him they were under the influence of Halo; he says he had plenty of other reasons to kill Deimos.  She remembers kissing Daniel goodbye, and then remembers that it was actually Eric; he says that he thinks maybe the something bad was kissing his brother’s girlfriend.  He asks her if they should tell Brady.  Brady runs into Jennifer and asks if she would consider giving Eric another chance; she says she cares about him and wants the best for him.  Although Nicole is worried about how Brady will react to her “betraying” him, she tells Eric they have to tell him they kissed.  Then she starts to worry about losing him.

07-12-2017 (Wednesday) On The Job

Gabi goes to visit Sonny; he is back in the interrogation room.  He says he is going to miss seeing his little girl most of all.  Gabi tells him to stop talking like he is guilty, because even if he did it, he wasn’t in his right mind because he was drugged.  Sonny says he is afraid the writing is on the wall; Abigail gets a call that JJ has been released, and Sonny is now the prime suspect.  Victor visits his grandson; he tells him he wanted to get him out of his cell for at least a few hours.  They discuss the case against him, and Sonny tells his grandpa that he thinks he did this because he was so angry with Deimos for taking the amulet.  He says he can’t make this go away; Victor says, “to hell I can’t.”

Dario says there’s no reason they shouldn’t go on their honeymoon; Abigail says she isn’t comfortable with him spending so much money on the trip.  He tells her that he has some investments that are paying off and everything is going to be fine; Abigail remembers Hope tell her that Dario may have picked up where his father left off in his illegal business activities.  Dario asks Abby what she’s doing Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as he makes up the schedule; she tells him nice try.  Abigail goes to look at the computer; Dario comes out and sternly asks what she thinks she’s doing.  She tells him she is just checking her work email, claiming she has no bars on her phone; she asks what’s wrong.  He says nothing, claiming just to be stressed out about work; he asks if they can just go home.  He brings in a piece of cake; he says it’s their wedding night, so they have to eat cake.  It’s vanilla with strawberries; she says it’s amazing.  Dario tells her he is going to spoil her like crazy; she tells him he doesn’t have to do that.  She says she’s going to get ready for bed and takes the cake with her; she says she’ll save him a bite.

Rafe gets information that the made who cleaned room 204 is also working as a waitress in the Square the head custodian is in the hotel; he says his name is Jacque and suggests he and Hope talk to the made while Lani talks to the custodian.  They tell JJ to stay out of this part of the investigation, saying it’s more than digging out trash; Lani says it’s fine as long as she takes the lead.  JJ agrees to play backup only.  They leave.  Lani asks the “custodian” if there was anything left behind in room 204 when the man checked out; he says there was and hands her a phone charger.  Hope asks the waitress what she remembers about the man that was staying in room 204; she says she didn’t see him, but he left a big tip.  She says he also left his phone charger and a dirty magazine; she tells them it’s in lost and found at the hotel.  Rafe calls JJ and tells him there were two items left behind; he turns and asks the custodian what else was left there.  “Chuck” gets the magazine after Lani threatens to make this a very long night for him; JJ says, maybe he just forgot, or was too embarrassed to say what else there was.  The guy says, yeah, he forgot; he gets out the magazine – Busty Broads Monthly.  She says that sounds familiar, and flashes back to looking through evidence of Xander’s.

Theo goes to see Chad and asks him if they can play a game of Chess; Chad says, “yes, let’s do it.”  They take a seat.  Chad can tell something is wrong and asks Theo what’s up; he says he and Claire broke up.  He explains why and how, and what’s going on now; Chad tells him it is hard to be friends with an ex girlfriend.  He says he and Abigail are still trying; Theo mentions that he has been looking for work, after calling “check mate.”  Chad offers him a job, working with computers; he says its time he starts working for the family business.  Theo thinks his dad might be mad, but then says he really wants the job, so… Chad welcomes him to the business.  Gabi comes in and Chad introduces him as the newest member of DeMira Enterprises; she congratulates him and Theo leaves.  They go to bed, and decide to put everything behind them and focus on “them.”

Claire sees Hope and Rafe; she goes to take their order.  She tells them this is her first day and the boss is a real “dragon lady” – the boss, the maid from the hotel, overhears her.  Claire apologizes; she ten drops a tray of drinks.  The lady almost fires her when she realizes she lied on her resume and has never waited tables a day in her life, but she decides to keep her as a hostess, and dishwasher, instead.  Claire thanks her.  Lani and JJ join Rafe and Hope at the table; they tell them their suspicions about the magazine.  JJ asks if Xander isn’t locked up in Greece; Hope says there is one way to find out.  She calls the prison and the warden assures her that Xander is still behind bars.  Rafe says that’s okay; they will know who it is once they get the fingerprints back from the magazine and charger.  Theo is on the phone, bragging about his new job, when Claire comes in; she tells him she hates her job, hates her boss and hates her life.  She then tells him congratulations on his job and says she is happy for him; she goes into her room.  Later, Theo comes out into the living to find Claire asleep on the couch; he covers her up with a blanket.

07-11-2017 (Tuesday) Saving Sonny

The waiter tells the commissioner that he saw “that man” standing over Deimos’ dead body, saying, “now you got what you deserved.”  Sonny is arrested for the murder of Deimos Kariakis; the commissioner tells JJ he will prepare his release papers.  Adrian breaks down crying; Justin tells her he will do everything he can to protect their son.  She hugs him; Ann tells Lucas that she is the one who has been running the whole paper for the past two months.  She complains that she isn’t getting any credit for it; she inadvertently tells him that Sonny has confessed to Deimos’ murder.  He says he has to go; he walks in to see her hugging Justin and telling him she doesn’t know what she’d do without him.  He tells her they will always be there for their son, and each other; she notices Lucas and runs to hug him.  Paul tells Sonny he is proud of him; he says he couldn’t let JJ go down for this murder when he had information to clear him.  Paul tells him he is the best man he’s ever known; he tells him he doesn’t think he did it either and he will find out who really did.  Adrian asks her son what the argument with Deimos was about; he says, “the amulet.”

Marlena finds Kate at a table in the Square; she tells her she heart a rumor that she married Andre DeMira.  She tells Marlena that’s not a rumor; Marlena questions why she would have done that and she does her best to explain about saving the company.  Besides, she says, everytime she’s married for love, it’s turned out to be a mitigated disaster.  Maybe this is answer. The woman of Salem meet for a luncheon, Kate, Valerie, Kayla and Marlena; they begin discussing their significant others, but Kate points out that they are all successful women of their own accord and they should have things to talk about besides the men in their lives.  Kate says she just read an article about the happiest people in the world… married men; Kayla says she read that too.  Single women, she points out, come in second, then single men; married women are on the bottom of the happiness heap, she says.  They all toast and click their glasses to being single for the moment (with all their men otherwise occupied).  They all get giggly when they bring up “kids” and toast again.  Kayla tells them all it is nice to have girlfriends and they toast to friendship.

Lucas takes Adrian to the Pub for a milkshake; he says it will give her the sustenance she needs the rest of the night.  He plans to take a boat out to watch the sun set; she tells him she can’t because she needs to be home in case they call about Sonny.  He offers to stay home with her and binge-watch something, instead; Ann shows up next to them and tells Adrian that she doesn’t have to worry about a thing because she is holding down the fort.  She stupidly suggests they get Sonny’s exclusive first jail interview to help sell papers; Lucas tells her to leave.

Lani is investigating at the Martin House; she says the commissioner called off the search as soon as he zeroed in on JJ.  She insists the answer is there somewhere; she tells Hope and Rafe that she has found something.  She hands them a room key from the Salem Inn; they go to investigate there.  They look around the room, nothing spectacular; they don’t recognize the name used to reserve it (Sam Reynolds).  The clerk comes by and they ask him about the occupant; he says he wasn’t working yesterday morning when the man checked out.  Rafe and Hope if the man left yesterday morning.  They realize this wasn’t Deimos’ room wonder, who else would have been at that party, but the killer?  They decide to go dig through the dumpster.  JJ comes to see how things are going; Rafe invites him to join them.  JJ tells them he has been given strict orders from Raines not to be working on this case.  Hope tells Rafe that’s his way of saying he’s not getting in the dumpster; JJ puts on his gloves and says, no, it just means he’ll have to dig down deep and hide if someone comes along.  Rafe tells JJ he may have an idea that will help move this case along.

Sonny is booked and fingerprinted, and his personal belongings are collected.  He hugs Lucas and Paul goodbye and is taken away in handcuffs.

07-10-2017 (Monday) Angelica's Back

Rafe and Hope are at Brady’s Pub; they call Kayla and Steve to meet them.  Hope shows off her engagement ring; they tell them, they are among the first to know.  They say they haven’t set a date yet, with all that’s going on right on, including JJ being arrested.  Angelica walks into the Pub; she says she has a deal to make.  He asks if one of her minions can’t take over; she says she intends to see this one through herself.  Steve tells Kayla he is going to neutralize that woman and asks her to come help him; she gladly goes.  She asks what her part is; he says he is making it up as they go.  He plans on convincing her to leave somehow, getting her to go back to New York.

Abby prepares for a visitor; Dario steps in the room and reflects back on dancing with Abigail.  He says it’s a rotten time for an INS visit; she says she would hate it more if he got deported.  She says she meant it when she told him she would see this through to the end.  The visit goes very well; Abby shows him their pictures and when he sees that Abe was the minister, he says they’ll have no problem from him.  He says Abe wouldn’t be involved if it wasn’t a legitimate marriage; they agree.

Sonny insists he killed his uncle; his dad asks why he would so that, but then stops him before he can answer.  He says he needs a minute alone with his “client;” Eli begins to question him anyway.  His mom asks how he can know this; Sonny says he just does and he’s not letting JJ take the rap for this.  He agrees to let his father go in with him for questioning; Adrian asks what he is going… Paul says he is being the honest man he knew he was.  Eli says he hopes he isn’t wasting his time, just trying to get his cousin off the hook; Sonny says his father taught him to take responsibility for his actions.  He tells him he is pretty sure he killed Deimos; Justin reiterates “pretty sure.”  Sonny recalls his struggle with Deimos in the hallway; he says the next thing he remembers is seeing Deimos’ body with a knife in his heart.  Eli asks if he thinks he is the one who put that knife there; Sonny says he believes so, yes.

Rafe and Hope; meet Dario and Abigail at the Club.  Dario tells Abigail he has arranged a honeymoon for them; he says everything just kind of fell in place.  He tells her he has tickets to Hamilton on Broadway; then, they are going to stay two weeks in a beach house, with a rented boat.  The waiter notices Sonny in the interrogation room; he remembers seeing him stumbling in the room where Deimos’ body was found, and standing over Deimos’ body.  He tells the officer he left something out of his statement.

07-07-2017 (Friday) Sonny's Confession

Adrian and Lucas sit down for lunch in the Square; Lucas gets a phone call.  He tells Adrian, his mother got married to Andre DeMira.  Chad sits, having a memory of him and Abigail kissing; Gabi comes in and tells him the kids are asleep.  Lucas goes to see his mother and asks her to tell him she did NOT marry “that DeMira” but she just laughs; she tells Andre she always tried to not interfere in her children’s decisions and wishes they would give her the same respect.  Gabi asks Chad if he would mind staying with the kids while she goes to run a few errands; he says sure.  She hugs him and leaves; Chad thinks about texting Abigail.  Kate brings up his marriages to Chloe, and Nicole, and Sammy, speaking of “humiliating marriages.”  Andre offers to buy Lucas a Shirley Temple.  He tells his mother he should have been at the wedding so he could have given her away… permanently.  Andre and Kate pose for pictures as a couple for the cover of Country Club Monthly; they both vie to appear like the one in charge.

Jennifer tells her son she knows him; she says he couldn’t have killed Deimos.  JJ argues that his DNA was found under his nails; Justin says that proves that he and Deimos had a fight, not that he killed him.  Justin says they can also argue diminished capacity because of the drugging and stressful circumstances.  Sonny tells Paul that he is sure he killed Sonny; Paul says every one that argued with him had a reason for wanting him dead.  Sonny says he did more than argue with him; he remembers standing over Deimos, with the knife in his chest.  Paul asks if he remembers holding the knife, or stabbing him; he says no.  Still, he says, he thinks he needs to come forward; Paul agrees, if he believes he did it, he needs to tell the authorities.  Victor steps in the room and tells Sonny he will do no such thing.

Adrian comes to see Sonny; Paul tells her he is talking to Victor.  Victor tells Sonny Paul is right; he can’t confess if he doesn’t really remember stabbing Deimos.  Sonny argues that he clear about how he felt; and he definitely wanted the man dead, he says.  Victor says no one is responsible for his death except Deimos himself; Victor says all he wants is for their family to be safe.  He tells Sonny he is the future of their family and he is depending on him; he tells Sonny not to let him down.  Victor tells Paul, since he was the only one at the party who wasn’t under the influence, what he says will carry a lot of weight.  He tells him if he wants a future with Sonny, he is to forget what Sonny said before.

JJ sees the ring on Abigail’s finger, and when she tells him she and Dario got married, he asks if the wedding came with a side of fries.  She says they just decided there was no reason to wait; JJ is offended.  He mocks her saying there’s no reason to plan anything out, especially when there’s a kid involved; she tells him she thought this out.  Her mom begins to speak again and Abigail says JJ doesn’t need to be subjected to this; Jen says fine, but tells her they will be talking later.  They do, and as they wander through the park; her mother tells her she just wants her to be happy.  Abigail insists she is; she leaves and Chad shows up.  He says he was going to call earlier; he mentions the “renewal” of their vows and the kiss.  She said she thought they put that behind them; he says they did.  He was wondering if she remembers anything happening afterward; she says she is sure they stopped.  He asks why; Chad remembers Deimos running down the hall – and going after him.  Abby says she remembers that he told her to stay, but she didn’t; she went after him too.  He says she was in front of him and he eventually lost her; she says she doesn’t know if she ever found Deimos or not, and they wonder if they should tell the police all of this.

They decide to; at the station, they find Gabi talking to JJ, and Paul who has just come in to tell what he knows.  Eli says they have enough to prosecute JJ; Paul asks, “but do you have enough to know the truth?”  Chad tells Gabi after he and Abigail are done giving their statement, she and he need to go somewhere to talk.  He tells her about he and Abby renewing their vows and kissing; she says it’s okay because she danced with JJ, and neither of them went any farther.  Eli and Justin are discussing the fact that no one really has a clue who killed Deimos; Sonny comes into the station and tells Eli that he killed Deimos.

07-06-2017 (Thursday) The Proposal

Eric recalls telling Nicole that he thinks he did something bad under the influence of the Halo; Nicole comes into the Center.  She apologizes for being late; she notices Eric’s disturbed expression and asks him what’s wrong.  He tells her he remembered something; Daniel, he says, appeared to them.  She says she also has a vague memory of Daniel; she says it must have been the Halo, right?  They remember Daniel telling Nicole to forgive Eric, after he forgives himself; Brady tells Sonny that he’s been cleaning up his mess all day.  He says the families of the workers he fired are considered filing a class-action lawsuit for wrongful termination; Sonny tells him he will handle all of those calls from now on.  Sonny leaves the room and Paul asks Brady to take it easy on him, saying he’s just trying to adjust to the position.  Brady admits that he probably took out some anger on Sonny’s that was not his; he says he is upset about what happened at the Martin House the other night.  Paul notes that he wasn’t there; he acknowledges, he wasn’t.  Brady goes to pick up Nicole; when they get home, she asks him if he is mad.  He says no; she asks, then what has him so distracted.  He grabs her and starts kissing her, passionately.

Lani apologizes to JJ for saying anything about seeing him and Deimos fighting; JJ says, it’s okay.  Facts are facts, the blood on his shirt, his DNA under Deimos’ nails… she says there must be another way to get the answers.  Sonny gets notified that JJ was being charged with the murder of Deimos; he reflects back and sees himself standing over Deimos’ dead body again.  Sonny tells Paul he has to say something; Paul reminds him he wasn’t in the same room as Deimos when he fought with him.  He says Deimos tormented everyone at the part and the truth is that any one of them could have killed him.

Hope stands silent; Rafe says this wasn’t exactly how he pictured the moment.  She apologizes.  He puts the ring back in his shirt; she tries to explain, it’s just that she can’t marry him until she has closure with what Deimos did to Beau.  He says he thought she would have that with Demos’ death; she says she thought so too – he starts to head back to the station.  Hope grabs his arm and tells him this has nothing to do with love; she strokes his face and says she loves him.  He tells her, quietly, “I love you too” and leaves.  Hope meets Marlena in the Square; she tells her that she didn’t say no, she just didn’t say anything.  She hopes she hasn’t ruined everything; she says Aiden just really shook her confidence in everything she thought she knew.  Marlena asks if she has any questions about Rafe’s character; Hope says no.  Marlena gets called to the station.  Lani has decided that she wants to get hypnotized too; Eli tells her the commissioner wants to have everyone who was at that party hypnotized to see what they remember.  Lani remembers getting locked in the garage with Eli, and a lady with a dog letting them out hours later.  Her memories clear her and Eli from the time frame of the murder, but don’t help JJ.

Hope runs into Julie in the Square; Julie is surprised not to see a ring on her finger.  She tells Hope everything Rafe went through last night, getting blessings to ask for her hand; Hope laughs to think he went through all that.  She says he took on the whole village; Julie says he would take on the world if it meant being with her.  She convinces Hope to take the chance and Hope calls Rafe to meet her back at their picnic spot; she tells him she would like him to marry her.  He drops back down on his knee and asks her formally once again, with ring in hand; she holds out her finger and says, “yes, yes… yes!”

07-05-2017 (Wednesday) Kayla's Job in Jeopardy

Hope is busy at work; she asks Rafe if he had a nice lunch with Gabi.  He says yes, and tells her she helped him with something – trying to hold back a huge smile.  Hope doesn’t notice; she says that’s nice, and gets up from her desk still staring at a paper.  Rafe pulls a ring box out of his pocket and says, to himself, that it will be even nicer when she sees it.  Hope comes back over and tells Rafe what bothers her most about this case is that JJ isn’t even fighting it; it’s as if he has resigned himself to taking the rap, she says.  He tells her she needs to get her mind off things and takes her to a prepared picnic; she says it’s becoming their thing.  They sit down and Rafe begins to tell Hope how much she means to him; Julie comes along and asks if she’s interrupting.  They say no, and invite her to join them; she indulges in the chocolate covered strawberries.  Hope goes to get Julie a drink from the cooler; Rafe tells Julie that he is trying to propose and asks her to leave.  She tells him he can’t propose to Hope; she says he needs to ask Doug’s permission first.  She says he is just around the corner… he says he’ll go, and she offers to stall Hope.  He walks to the Square, and shows Doug the ring; Doug gladly gives his permission, and thanks him for all he has already done for his “little princess.”  He welcomes him to the family with a hug.  Then, however, he suggests he ask Victor, Beau’s father, for permission as well, saying it would just be a good idea; Rafe says okay.

Claire and Theo awkwardly fumble around each other in the kitchen while trying to get their separate breakfasts.  When Theo bumps into her, Claire asks him to just give her a minute; he asks if that’s what she really wants, or if she wants him to move out.  She tells him loving him is “kinda great,” adding that he is like a rock in her life, steady and easy; she tells him he is “real” and says that’s what she needs.  He tells her there are things he loves about her too, stating that she is beautiful; she asks since when he cares about artificial stuff, and he says he doesn’t but it’s just a fact.  He says what he loves most is that she treats him like a normal guy, not the autistic kid; she says he is totally normal, to which he disagrees, but adds that she accepts him that way like no one else has.  She asks him if they could “try again” but then Theo gets uncomfortable and stands up, saying he didn’t say that; she asks him why he said all those nice things then, and he replies, “because they are true.”  She gets angry all over again and storms out of the room.

Rafe tells Victor that he isn’t trying to take Beau’s place; just wants a place in Hope’s life.  He tells him that Beau actually asked him to take care of Hope and to look out for his family, just like he did; Victor says, if he had Beau’s blessing, he has his… but then he says, it isn’t him who can speak for Beau, he says that would be Roman.  He says, maybe it’s Roman Rafe needs the blessing from; Rafe says, “ah.”  Theo comes into Brady’s Pub looking for a job; Roman tells him if they were hiring right now, he would hire him.  Roman questions why he’s looking so hard for a job; Theo tells him he needs to move into his own place.  Roman tells him he’ll let him know if he hears of any openings; Theo thanks him and leaves.  Rafe shows up and tells Roman he wants to ask Hope to marry him; Roman tells him he is a good man and doesn’t need anybody’s blessing.  He tells him to follow his heart and keep loving her like he does; Rafe says that’s the easiest promise he’ll ever make.

Claire shows up and tells Hope that Theo just broke up with her; Hope says she’s sorry.  Claire mentions Theo’s “lie” of forever; Julie says that’s not really a lie because he said it with all of his heart.  Claire smiles and says, “that’s it!”  She declares that she is going to make Theo fall in love with her all over again, and leaves.  Hope gets tired of waiting and says she’s going back to the station; Julie stops her, telling her she was supposed to keep her there and keep her big mouth shut.  Hope almost gets her to spill the beans, but Rafe shows back up; Hope tells him they need to get back to the station.  He tells her to wait; he says there is something he needs to ask her.  She says, “okay, ask.”  He apologizes for making her wait, but says he wanted to make sure everything was right; he says it is now.  He pulls out the ring and says he knows he already asked, but he wanted to do it with a clear head; he asks.  Hope gasps and clasps her hands; we don’t see her answer this episode.  Claire goes home and helps Theo prepare his resume; she is sad when he says he is doing it so that he can get a job and move out, so he won’t have to be close to her all the time.  She tells him she doesn’t want him to move out.

The hospital director tells Kayla he would not have called her back unless it were serious; she asks if they should go somewhere private to talk.  He tells her no, saying, “because this involves you too young man” and looks straight at Tripp; Kayla looks confused.  She asks how this involves Tripp, and the director starts to describe her patient “Mr. Moralez” who died last week.  He points out that the incorrect medication was ordered for this patient; Kayla says that’s impossible, but he swears it came from her table.  (Still doesn’t explain how they believe Tripp is involved.)  Coming back, they tell us that Tripp is intended to be a witness, having shadowed Kayla all last week.  Steve tells the director, as an investigator, he can prove that his wife is not responsible for what has happened here; the director says they have their own investigation going on so his services aren’t needed.  Kayla stresses, while they perform an autopsy, wondering how this could have happened; she says, if she did this, the family of the patient could sue the hospital.  The results of the autopsy come back, showing the medication Kayla claimed to have prescribed in the patient’s system, not the more deadly version that was on the chart.  The director refuses to apologize to Kayla and tells her he will keeping a closer eye on her from now on.  Tripp tells Kayla he is glad everything is okay; she says, in spite of the fact that she almost made two horrible mistakes.  Steve hugs her and says nothing like that is going to happen again; Tripp smiles.
