Eric tells his mom that he
decided that he needs to focus on his work at the Center; he says he and Jen
have decided just to be friends for now.
He tells her things are going to get complicated there, telling her that
the judge sentenced Nicole to community service there at the Center and she
starts today. Marlena tells him that
she is sure he can work it out; they begin making plans for another fundraiser
for the Center. Marlena says she is
going to ask Julie if they can use her party as a kick-off for it; she’s sure
she won’t mind. Brady and Nicole sit with Holly on the couch; Nicole says she
truly has never been as happy as she is now.
Chloe recalls handing Holly over; she’s pulled back to reality by a
phone call from her mother. She tells
her mom she is not going to change her mind; she says she just has to make it
official with the Court. She gets a
call from the Court; Brady checks his phone and sees that Deimos is still
avoiding the police; they bask in how lucky they are to be together, and to
have Holly back. As Nicole begins
making plans for redecorating, she gets a call from Chloe; she says the judge
who is now hearing the custody case wants to see the three of them in his
chambers. She says there is some sort
of complication.
Justin tells Sonny he is concerned about potential lawsuits; Sonny says he is doing the company a favor by getting rid of anyone that was connected to Deimos. Justin admits the chances of any illegal activity at the company did just significantly go down; Sonny assures him he knows what he is doing. Justin goes with Nicole and Chloe to see the judge, who looks like an asshole; and is, indeed, one, too. He says he has no intention of giving the baby to Ms. Walker; after recounting all of Nicole’s past brushes with the law, he tells them that he is putting the child in foster care. Nicole pleads with him to just give Holly back to Chloe, but the judge says Chloe should have never had custody in the first place and he isn’t changing his mind. He does say that this will be temporary; sixty days, then he is willing to revisit the matter, telling Nicole no missteps on her part during that time. The lady from social services comes in to get Holly; Nicole has a hard time handing her over. Brady consoles her as she sobs; Chloe tells Nicole she’s sorry. She feels like this is her fault; Justin says he will file an appeal and they’ll get Holly back. Nicole hugs Chloe and tells her she’ll see her later; she tells Brady they are going to get Holly back... she is going to prove that she is a strong, reasonable person, decent and upstanding person, capable of being a mother to her child. She says she has to go do her community service and hugs Brady goodbye.
John comes to pick up Paul from the hospital; Paul says he is feeling much better. He thanks his dad for coming to rescue him from the island; John tells him there is no place he wouldn’t go for him. Paul tells him he wants to get tickets to a Cubs game and starts making plans to do things with his dad; John tells him the plans are going to have to wait - he is getting sent off on another secret assignment. Paul tells his dad he is a little concerned about Sonny and the power he now has at Titan; he tells him about the people Sonny is firing. John tells his son that Sonny will figure things out; he reminds him he has good people who will help him, including him. John tells “Doc” that he doesn’t want to leave her; he gives her a charm for her bracelet – a symbol of their latest adventure together (an airplane). He tells her he will come flying back to her as soon as he can; she says she will most miss falling asleep in his arms. He hugs her goodbye. She says by now this should be easier; he tells her not to ever get used to it, and asks her to make one more stop with him before he goes.
Deimos meets with one of his accomplices; he tells him that Sonny has the amulet (apparently he did see it when it fell out of Sonny’s pocket). He tells him he is going to get it back, even if he has to pry it from Sonny’s cold, dead hands. The man tells Deimos that before the lab was raided, a special batch of Halo was delivered to him; he hands a vial to Deimos, which contains a blue powder. Deimos looks at it and smiles. Sonny tells Paul he looks good when he sees him; Paul tells Sonny he doesn’t. Sonny tells him he did give everyone a good severance package when he let them go; Paul tells him he is a good person and he knows he is doing what he feels is right. Paul tells Sonny it was his love that pulled him back from the brink and he thanks him for not giving up on him; Sonny says he could never give up on him because he loves him too much.
