09-23-2016 (Friday)

Nicole meets Brady in the square; it’s morning now… he invites her for coffee at the mansion.  She asks if he is suggesting she move in; he tells her it’s not a bad idea.  She doesn’t want to send Deimos the wrong message; she admits to Brady that Xander called her and told her he’s been watching her.  Brady tells her to stop being stubborn and go get her suitcase; he’s taking her to the mansion.  She agrees to go, but not with a suitcase… just to visit Teresa.  Teresa and Eve discuss the kidnapping of Joey; Teresa says they can’t hurt him or they won’t get their demands met.  Eve asks her to bring Tate and come back to New York with her; she says she doesn’t want Clyde to kill her or her nephew, after killing her daughter.  She tells Eve she is safe there and she is not going to leave Brady.

Philip takes Chloe to her doctor’s appointment; she has a headache.  The doctor tells her, her blood pressure is a little high; he wants her to try to relax, to which she scoffs.  She and Philip imagine whether the baby is a girl or a boy; she says they might be able to hear the heartbeat today.  Chloe and Philip reminisce about their days in high school; Chloe tells him they need to remember that this relationship is pretend.  Deimos walks in to the exam room.  Philip orders Deimos to get out.  He says he has a right to be there – he brings in Justin, with legal papers giving him the right to demand a paternity test.  The doctor comes in and asks what’s going on; Justin gives him the papers.  The doctor tells Deimos to leave the room while he does his exam, then goes to order the additional bloodwork; then Chloe panics and Philip tells her he will do whatever it takes to make the results say he is the father.

Andre surprises Kate again; they talk about her distain for the women her sons choose to be with.  Adrian and Chloe have so many short-comings, she says; he suggests she let her sons know that she just doesn’t like seeing them hurt.  Sage advice coming from him, she says.  Deimos tells Teresa that the power outage knocked out the security system, just warning her to be careful.  He asks if she knows where Claire and Ciara went; she says they left out the side door this morning.  Nicole brings Teresa a wedding gift, calling it an engagement gift instead, since they never actually got married.  Brady comes in to talk to Teresa; she can tell that something happened.  Brady tells her he just got off the phone with the investor of her company pulled out – he says it has Kate written all over it.  She says they should let the company go, shut it down, focus on Tate and each other.

Justin sees Eve in the square and calls out to her; he says he would have loved to have a drink or something.  She says, maybe when she comes back for Teresa’s next wedding, even though she believes he is still in love with he ex-wife.  He reminds her that ex is about to marry Lucas Horton; Eve is betting that is not going to happen.  Justin offers to escort her to airport.  Brady and Deimos are talking, when Nicole comes in to see Deimos; he forgets all about Brady… Brady excuses himself as they begin kissing.  Philip and Chloe come to Kate; they admit that Deimos is the baby’s father.  Philip asks her to help them… Philip tells her that she has helped raise money for Chloe’s doctor, he owes her – he asks her to get him to say he’s the daddy, or to get to the lab he uses (as she has proven herself to be useful in that area).  As much as she would love sticking it to Deimos, she refuses.  Chloe is distraught; Philip tells her he will figure out how to get into that lab, himself.

As Teresa and Brady snuggle on the couch, he tells her he is sorry about DJ Wear; she says it doesn’t matter – they kiss.  Diemos and Kate have a short confrontation; she tells him to remember that she has the goods on his black market operation – he tells her she will be on the hook for kidnapping Brady’s son if she tries to mess with him.  Kate looks worried.  Nicole sits down with him for lunch; he tells her he thinks things are finally starting to go his way.  She asks about the appointment; he tells her he got a court order and he will know the truth today.  Kate calls Philip and tells him she has had a change of heart.  She’ll do it.

09-22-2016 (Thursday)

Hope tries to walk away, but Aiden stops her by grabbing her arm and tells her they need to talk.  She refuses, telling him she has to go; he smashes a table on the glass, cutting his hand.  As Kayla lay sleeping on the couch, Clyde and Orphius stare at her; Orphius sits down by her head, pulls out a knife and starts whispering… she wakes up, screams, Clyde grabs her and Orphius asks if she remembers him.  When Joey walks in, he sees his mom tied to a chair with a gag in her mouth; Xander grabs him.  Orphius says its time to have some fun.

Steve looks around and can’t find any sign of anything; then he gets a bad feeling runs home.  Theo steps out of the room to call for Adrian or Lucas; he hears a noise and ducks back into the room, locking the door behind him.  Thomas is crying now; Theo begins to panic.  Claire gets ready to take a selfie in the park and screams when someone grabs her from behind; it’s JJ.  He chews her out for being out by herself; he gets a text from Gabi.  Hope goes to check upstairs, above the diner; she takes care of Aiden’s bleeding hand.  Lucas and Adrian come back, discussing an explosion they heard; they find the door locked and hear Thomas crying inside.  Theo lets them in; JJ and Claire show up… Claire notices Theo is upset and tries to comfort him.

Lucas shows JJ where the panic room is; he lets Chad and Gabi out (who are now half naked because it’s so hot).  Steve comes home to find Orphius standing there… he asks what the hell he did with his family.  They are both tied up.  Xander holds him from behind; he kicks Xander, Orphius shoots.  Rafe shows up at the diner and Hope tells Aiden it’s time to leave; he walks out, sits down and pulls out Stefano’s file.  Kayla leans over Steve, crying; he wakes up – he was wearing a bullet-proof vest.  He asks where Joey is; Kayla cries, they took him!

09-21-2016 (Wednesday)

Aiden calls Chase when he gets home; tells him the train ride was wonderful… he had great reading material (Stefano DeMira’s file).  He tells him he’ll be back next weekend and they will check out places to live; he adds, he is sure Hope will be happy to join them.  At Jennifer’s house, Julie, Claire, Ciara and Hope are gathered.  Hope says she has to get to work, but she declares the house on “lock-down” – Julie says they’ll pretend they are having a slumber party and paint their nails.  Joey drops by; Claire is stressing because she can’t get online to promote her song.  They play charades; Claire obsesses over her music again, and Ciara tells her she needs to take a step back.  Joey excuses himself; he goes to make a call to Jade.  Claire says the only ones who make it to the top are those who work really hard it, and then gets mad again because she can’t.

JJ runs to Gabi; he is on patrol and she is shopping in the square.  JJ promises Gabi that when all this is over, they will go do something fun with Ari.  Steve fusses over Kayla on the couch; he tells her she shouldn’t even be out of the bed… she tells him she is worried about Joe.  Steve assures her, he has already warned him about Orphius; he leaves to get her prescription, just as Hope arrives to stay with her.  The convicts get ready to make their move; the bag of supplies Clyde lined up has a bunch of explosives and hunting clothing in it.

Chad and Lucas talk about the business, Chad gets a text that reminds him of something he forgot – Gabi shows up with outfits for him to try on.  He asks her if he can bounce an idea off her.  Lucas is thrilled to see Ari.  Hope and Kayla hear something outside; Hope grabs her gun.  It’s just a flower delivery, from Kim?  Steve sees Aiden, voice-recording notes, and asks if he doesn’t have something better to do with his time than looking into old cases.  Steve says he knows Aiden only took the job to be closer to Hope and tells him that he should leave town –he has no future there.  Aiden snidely replies that his future is bright.

Kayla talks to Hope about love being a gift; Steve hears something in the park and goes to check it out.  Adriane stops by Chad’s to talk to Lucas, they end up making out and Gabi comes in, asking where the bags are; Lucas shows her the way to where he thinks Chad is, who would know.  Theo comes downstairs and Adrian asks him to watch Ariana and Thomas for a minute while she warms a bottle and checks on security.  Aiden ‘finds’ Hope at the diner; the lights go out, he grabs her arm.  The lights go out at Hope’s too; Gabi, talking with Chad, gets trapped in the panic room.  Theo, alone with the kids, tells Ari everything will be fine.  Kayla, sleeping on the couch, is oblivious to the three men who just walked into her living room.

09-20-2016 (Tuesday)

Chloe tells Nicole that she and Philip are moving into the mansion; Nicole tries her best to talk her out of it, but she explains that she feels she owes it to Philip.  She tells Nicole that she wants her to move in too, bribing her with spending more time with Parker.  She tells Chloe she’s afraid; as much as she loves him, she can’t trust him, she says.  Justin, Brady, Victor, Sonny and Deimos talk about the escaped convicts, and how four generations of Kiriakis are going to live under the same roof; Deimos extends the invitation to Sonny, who refuses.  Victor tells him he needs to – Clyde is the one who stabbed him last year.  Sonny concedes.

Kate hears an intruder again; she pulls her gun, and aims it – it’s Andre.  She is relieved; they talk, like old friends, and decide to go have lunch and martinis.  He asks Kate if she might intervene for him, with Chad; she tells him Chad is very important to her and he hasn’t treated him very well in the past.  He swears he just wants to be part of the family again; she tells him she’ll think about it.  Eduardo comes in and asks Kate about Clyde’s intrusion last night; he apologizes, and she asks what he has to be sorry for.  He gives her a general ‘just feel responsible for people I care about’ answer; as they talk, Andre watches from the bar, and Eduardo tells her if she needs anything she can come to him.  She tells Andre afterward that she believes he is hiding something.

Philip shows up at the mansion, Victor gets upset and a screaming match breaks out; Brady breaks it up, by screaming above everybody else.  He says they can all agree that everything would be solved with just a little piece of duct tape over Victor’s mouth (how funny), but then continues to give a speech about how they need to put up a united front.  It’s a good speech and Victor gives in.

Chloe arrives; Victor is disgusted when Deimos tells him the baby might be his.  Apparently, in the past, Chloe was with Brady as well, so that makes four Kiriakis brothers she has slept with.  Still, he manages to be graceful in welcoming her.  Dario makes Nicole promise she will call him if she needs anything.  The four generations of Kiriakis toast to “familia.”

09-19-2016 (Monday)

Philip comes to see Maggie; she is walking on crutches now, a few hours a day.  She invites him to come by the house later; she wants him to work on his relationship with Victor.  Gabi and Rafe have breakfast together; she tells him she is concerned about the convicts being lose, because JJ is the reason Clyde went to prison.  She asks Rafe to keep an eye on JJ, saying he’s been a little impulsive since Abby’s death.  As John and Marlena sit down to nice breakfast, Eduardo knocks on the door; he said he made a horrible mistake and needs his help.  He tells him, the wreck was his fault – he was undercover, assigned to take out another prisoner; he had no idea who the other three were.  John tells him he will do whatever he needs to cover for him; he makes a call.

In the warehouse, Xander does some manly pushups; Orphius sends him to get a bag of supplies dropped off by a friend of Clyde’s.  Xander is growing anxious.  Orphius tells him they are going to plan, pick a target and then make their move – and watch everybody squirm.  Claire has snuck out to meet with Chloe, even though she was told it was too dangerous to be out with the convicts on the loose; she lies to Chloe, saying John and Marlena know she’s there.  Marlene tells John she is going to get her.  As Philip and Maggie talk, Diemos interrupts; he tells Philip that he would like to have him move into the mansion as well; Philip is stunned.  Diemos tells him that these prisoners are dangerous, Xander is a psychopath, dreaming of killing every member of the family, and he wants him AND Chloe to move in – to be safe.  Philip wants nothing to do with it; after Deimos leaves, Maggie asks Philip to reconsider.

Meanwhile, Deimos has Dario looking around Chloe’s apartment.  He finds her tablet and sees a scheduled doctor’s appointment; he takes a picture of it.  He hears someone at the door.  As Rafe and Gabi hug goodbye at the diner, Eduardo walks in.  Gabi is ecstatic to see him; Dario comes in and is not so much so.  Rafe asks why he was late for breakfast; he says he was working, yells at his dad and leaves.  Eduardo goes after him and hears him saying goodbye to “Mr. Kiriakis.”

Marlena is extremely upset with Claire for not telling them she was leaving; she tells her maybe she should go live with her parents in Hong Kong.  Claire refuses.  When Philip goes to see Chloe, he tells her about Deimos’ offer, and says he thinks they should do it.  Reason #1, he says, they could rub it in Deimos’ face – play the loving couple; and reason #2, because the baby is a Kiriakis and that could make her a target for the convicts – she asks if it may also be to try to fix things with his father.  He admits that would be a bonus; and asks if she would consider it, to pay him back for turning his life upside down for her

09-16-2016 (Friday)

Roman calls John, who just finished getting his gunshot wound taken care of at the hospital.  Kate looks for her car keys and Clyde holds them up.  Chad is quietly entering, does something with his phone (?) and stands there, listening.  After some discussion about why she didn’t want to be with him anymore, Kate asks Clyde how it felt to use a belt on a kid, “like a real man?”  He raises the gun.  Kate doesn’t back down and they continue arguing; he grabs her and shoves her against the wall, she screams and Chad makes his move.  He tackles Clyde and they both go to the ground; a gunshot rings out.  They continue fighting, so no one was shot; Clyde shoves Chad down and tells Kate this isn’t over, and leaves.  She thanks Chad for not listening to her; he hugs her and tells her goodbye when the police arrive.

Nicole shows up with Tate; Brady and Teresa are happy to see her (and him).  Teresa is worried, though, that Xander is not playing games – she says he’s out for blood this time.  They sit down at a table with Deimos and Nicole.  Deimos tells them all that he wants to protect them, and asks them all to move in to the mansion; Brady is against it, but after Teresa tells him she doesn’t hate the idea – it’s a fortress – he concedes and agrees to move in.  Nicole still refuses, no matter how hard he tries to convince her.  She tells him she wants to take their relationship (whatever it is) at a snail’s pace.  He arranges security to escort her home.

Kayla wakes up from her surgery to find Steve there, holding her hand.  He comforts her.  He tells her how worried he was about her, thinking she could die, and his priorities became very clear to him; he wants nothing more in this world than to be with her, and he says he is determined to prove it.  She is still not sure she can believe him.  When he comes out of Kayla’s room, he sees John and Marlena; Marlena goes in to talk to Kayla.  Steve asks John what the wound is from; he tells him about the events at the would-be-wedding and that Orphius is on the run.  Marlena tells Kayla about everything and she tries to get up out of bed, saying she needs to take care of things as chief of staff of the hospital.  Steve comes in and tells Kayla that he thought about calling her doctor and telling him to keep her longer, but he decided he needed to talk to her and give her a say in that; she smiles.  She asks him to move back home when she is released from the hospital.

John has a black and white ‘flashback’ of Orphius, having shot Marlena with a tranquilizer – John starts to lift her up and he is told that if he moves her she will be shot dead.  They settle down at home, making sure the doors are locked; everyone else locks their doors as well.  Steven makes himself comfortable in the chair next to Kayla’s bed, with gun in hand.  The three convicts convene in an empty storage building, which Xander complains about; they all decide that they need to work together from now to make the entire town of Salem pay.

09-15-2016 (Thursday)

Hope and Rafe are on the case now; Abe tells them, and JJ, to watch their backs.  They begin to make a list of potential targets; Kate calls.  Rafe says they’ll be right over.  She tells them she saw Clyde; they tell her they have patrols out all over, looking for him and offer to escort her home, telling her to call again if anything actually happens.  She scoffs at them; she will, if she’s alive.  They walk her home and offer to search but she tells them not to bother; she says she will get her own security.  They leave.  She has recollections of her affair with Clyde Weston.

As JJ sits at his desk, he recalls moments with Gabi… falling in love, making love for the first time, and laughing.  Gabi brings a bunch of clothes for Chad to try on… he questions some of the color choices, but she tells him to trust her.  As Gabi watches Chad undress, she seems to get a little flustered.  As she is helping him hold up a tie to his shirt, JJ walks in and asks what’s going on.  She tells him she is working for Chad now and JJ questions when she was going to tell him; her response - he’s been busy.  As Ciara sits across the table from Theo and Claire (with Joey on the other side), watching them laugh and hug each other, she remembers her conversation with Theo… telling him that she wasn’t ready for what he wanted from her.  She looks uncomfortable and slightly regretful.  Since Claire was complaining about how bored she is in school already, not having any of classes of her choosing, Ciara arranges a swap with one of her friends, who wants to drop the class.  She tells her maybe she can stop complaining so much now.  Abe tells the kids they should all let him give them a ride home; Claire refuses to leave with them.  Abe tells her he will send a beat-cop by to make sure she is heading home in one hour.  She agrees.

Kate calls Chad to tell him that she saw Clyde earlier today; he tells her to be careful.  She hears a sound above her; he offers to come check, but she tells him she’s sure it’s just the wind.  Besides her security will be there soon.  Chad immediately calls Adrian to bring Thomas back… and quickly, he tells her.  JJ tells Gabi he is not happy about her new job; she tells him it is her dream job (getting paid to shop).  He stresses how dangerous it is; she points out that he’s a cop (double-standard).  He says he won’t pretend to be happy about it.  After Kate hangs up the phone, she turns around and Clyde is standing there.  He pulls a gun on her and tells her not to move; even though she told him not to bother, Chad is sneaking in the back door.

Aiden decides he’s not happy with the progress Chase is making in Shady Hills; he tells the director that he is having him transferred to another facility in Oregon, today, claiming to already have the judge’s permission to do so.  The director tries to talk him out of it, but he says it already been arranged.  Chase questions if he’s really just trying to get rid of him (sending him away in hopes of having another chance with Hope).  He says that’s not what this is about, but he does admit that he does have hopes of making things work with her.  When Chase asks what if she doesn’t want that, Aiden replies that she may not have a choice.  He asks him what that means; Aiden says he has some information that he could or could not keep secret… (so he’s going to try to blackmail her into being with him.  Wow).  He smiles.  He tells them they are going to go to Portland, and they will be happy there – he knows how to make it happen.

09-14-2016 (Wednesdsy)

Commissioner ‘Abe’ receives confirmation that Milo Harp is Orphius – and that he was not the dead man in the van.  He tells his officer this man has killed a lot of people, and he wants to kill a whole lot more; they need to stop him.  Everyone is terrified as they look at this man, holding a gun to Eve’s head; Brady is horribly upset when the man tells him that he dropped Xander off at the apartment before heading over there.  Paul steps forward and tells Orphius that Eve is poor bargaining chip; he suggests he take him instead.  Orphius asks why he would want to do that; Paul tells him, because he is John’s son.  He agrees and makes the trade, ordering some of the guests to leave the house (everyone except Paul, John, Marlena, Victor and Maggie).  John tries to talk to him, but he says he is going to kill all of them, one by one.

Meanwhile, Teresa wrestles with Xander, screaming for him to let her go.  She tells him they will come looking for her, but is horrified when he tells her nobody is coming, thinking he did something to them all.  He tells her he hasn’t (not yet), but it’s next on his to-do-list.  She starts apologizing for claiming he assaulted her when he really didn’t (it was all a set up to make Brady jealous); he doesn’t want to hear her apologies.  She tells him he should run while he can, go to another country; she offers to give him money.  He touches her face, then grabs her neck, shoving her up against the mirror – he says all he wants is to watch her die.  She struggles, then kicks him in the balls and runs for the door, just as Brady gets there – Xander takes off, and Brady runs after him.

Eve and Nicole go straight to the police station and tell Abe what’s going on at the mansion and at Teresa’s; he orders two swat teams into action.  Nicole and Eve talk about how losing someone you love changes you; Eve says she is just trying to live a life that Page would be proud of now.  Nicole commends her, assures her she is not going to lose Teresa.  In the end, they decide they really like each other and want to stay in touch.

Victor tells Milo (Orphius) that he could give him enough cash to get him through the rest of his life; tells him he doesn’t want to leave a pile of corpses in there or he’ll be hunted down for sure.  Milo says he doesn’t know what he wants; he shoves Paul forward and points the gun at Victor.  Maggie stands up and steps in front of Victor, saying he will have to kill her first.  She gets tired and sits back down after just a few moments.  Orphius can’t figure out who he wants to point the gun at now, he keeps moving it around from one to another; Paul jumps on him and they wrestle to the floor.  The gun goes off; sirens blare in the background.

The police arrive at Teresa and Brady’s; Brady comes back, saying Xander got away.  They tell him to stay there; they will go look for him.  Brady tells Teresa about the events happening at the mansion.  She calls Nicole and then talks to Eve; as they go to leave, Nicole sees Xander’s “wanted” poster and flashes back to one of her struggles with him, then rushes out the door.  Sweet… when Philip hears what happened, he rushes back to the mansion, comes in and hugs Victor – and Victor hugs him back.  They talk, and it appears that the feud is over.  Abe tells John he has an ambulance waiting to take him to the hospital; Marlena tells him she is worried Orphius won’t stop until he gets what he wants (them).

09-13-2016 (Tuesday)

Clyde Weston and Xander Cook on the loose after the police transport accident; Nicole and Deimos meet for dinner.  She admits that she is nervous with his psychopath nephew running around; they determine he probably wouldn’t come anywhere near Salem, and laugh it off.  Teresa’s big sister (Eve) is stressing out over forgetting “something old… new… borrowed… blue” but finds some trinkets that will work: a borrowed, blue handkerchief, a new pink lipstick, and says she will be her something old; they hug.

Sonny shows up at the mansion, the same time as Paul… Paul asks if he’s okay since the last wedding he went to there was his.  He tells Paul he thinks of Will everyday, but says he’s glad Paul is there.  They go in.  John is nervous, talking to Marlena; he tells her how much he loves her and that he wished this was their wedding.  They kiss.  Brady arrives at the house; he tells Maggie she belongs there.  She says she is happier there; Brady checks his messages… keeping tabs on the escaped convicts.  Victor says he will deal w Xander if he comes anywhere near there.

Philip and Chloe meet for lunch; they kiss – then she says they can’t do that in public, especially because they are pretending to be together.  Philip says that makes no sense (and it doesn’t).  He tells her she can count on him always.  They hug. Philip heads to the wedding; whispers in her ear and kisses her cheek.  Chloe does some shopping and runs into Nicole and Deimos in the square (he makes a snide remark about ‘his’ baby, then corrects himself, “Philip’s baby, I mean.”  Chloe is obviously guilty of the lie.  When Deimos leaves, Nicole tells Chloe she better sell it harder.

Brady and Victor make their final amends; he asks Victor if he could extend the same courtesy to Teresa; Victor says he will try, and they hug again.  When Philip comes to wish Brady and Teresa the best, Brady tells him that Belle has left town – he returns the surprise by telling Brady that he and Chloe are together now, and expecting a baby.  Victor overhears, saying he is not surprised.  Roman gets the news that Milo Harp was reportedly found dead, and that Xander and Clyde have supposedly been picked up in Missouri.  Nicole, Teresa and Eve are all relieved to hear that they don’t have to worry about them ruining the wedding.  Getting ready to head out the door, Teresa takes a drink of her soda and spills it all down her dress.  For some reason, rather than letting them stay to help her, she sends Eve and Nicole ahead with Tate and says she’ll drive herself over.  A crowbar is placed on the doorknob.  At the mansion… as everyone awaits Teresa’s arrival, “Orphius” walks in the door, holding Eve hostage.  Xander appears in Teresa’s room.

09-12-2016 (Monday)

Shaun walks in to hear Claire and Belle talking about Hong Kong; he asks what’s going on.  Claire excuses herself, telling him not to get mad right away, and Belle gives him her news.  He is clearly pissed at first, (because they decided to come back to Salem to be near their family) but then he calms down.  Belle explains to him that this is important to her; it’s a chance to change DeMira Enterprises for the better.  He tells her he doesn’t want to stand in the way of her career, so she should go; she is surprised he doesn’t want to come with her – he says he will just spend extra time with their daughter.  He says it’s only a year.. they’ve gotten through much longer; he kisses her and leaves.

Milo tells Clyde the order in which he would like to kill people in Salem… Roman Brady, for shooting and killing his wife twenty years ago, then Marlena and John.  John is jogging with Paul (having some difficulty catching his breath); he tells Paul that he doesn’t have to keep working with him, if he doesn’t enjoy it.  Paul tells him, after finding Tate, he has decided he’s in.  Teresa runs into Kate in the square; she tells her she heard what she did – Kate assumes she means kidnapping Tate, but Teresa starts spouting off about comments she made to Fashion Week about Teresa’s incompetence.  Teresa gets a phone call and turns her back on Tate, in the stroller, again… Kate could just take off with him again.  She doesn’t; she recalls when she did take him, though (and a scene plays that wasn’t shown before, of Kate talking to Tate in the crib in the motel).  Teresa finishes her call and turns around; she asks Kate why Tate seems comfortable with her, because strangers normally upset him.  Kate shrugs.

Victor calls Brady to tell him he found out who took Tate; Brady doesn’t believe him, but Victor says he can prove it.  Brady demands to meet this creep; Victor takes him to the morgue.  Afterward, they go talk to Roman; Roman tells Brady that Titus confessed – their man (Starbros?) heard the whole thing.  He says they found proof he was tied to the Chopan Group and have verified his confession; Brady apologizes to Victor for accusing him.  He cries a little, and they hug; Teresa shows up, looking slightly confused.  After Brady tells her they were wrong, Teresa apologizes and invites Victor to the wedding.  In return, Victor offers to host the wedding, at the mansion, where he and Maggie are living again (with Deimos).

Back behind bars, Xander imagines what he would like to do to Nicole and Teresa, should he have the chance.  Clyde gives him a hard time, laughing about him being a psychopathic murderer.  The three men get told to come along; transport is there.  (Hmm, a chance for them to escape.)  As the bus rolls down the road, one of the men clenches his fist… it’s Eduardo, pretending to be a guard.  He stabs Milo, they wrestle, fall halfway out the door and the bus wrecks.  Milo appears to be dead; but the other two are gone.  Gabi finds Paul in the square; he tells her he was tailing somebody, but that person ended up dead (Titus, I think).  Gabi talks about how great it is to have Sonny back; Paul agrees, but it’s obvious he would still like more than just to be friends with Sonny.

In the park, Shaun recalls a time that he needed to move somewhere and Belled begged him not to go; Claire finds him and sits down on the bench.  She asks why he won’t go with her mom to Hong Kong; he says that he thinks maybe things just weren’t meant to be.  He doesn’t want to go, not having any plans of his own.  She talks to him about how much he and her mom loved each other once; he recalls.  Belle tells John and Marlena the news; they are shocked, but agree to look out for Claire while she’s gone.  They toast to the future, and “new beginnings” and they embrace in a group hug. Just as Belle is ready to head to the airport, Shaun shows up at the door, with his bags packed.

09-09-2016 (Friday)

Gabi tells Rafe that their mother left town; apparently she needed a sudden hip replacement and flew back ‘home’ to get it done.  She tells Rafe that he is her rock and he better not go anywhere; he assures her he is right there.  Belle tells Chad that she will take the job, but she needs to let him know first that she did have half of his family’s money… she has wired it to the Dimira trust fund; she tells him she will sell the club and turn over the proceeds from that as well.  He tells her she doesn’t have to.  He gives her, her first assignment, but he tells her she is going to have to relocate to Hong Kong, unless she wants to tear up the contract.  When she tells Claire, Claire gets upset.  She says she is not going; but she suggests that she and her dad go and she stay with her grandma and grandpa.  Belle makes one condition, that she reconsider going back to college.  She agrees to go to Salem U; Belle hugs her and excitedly mentions coming to visit her for Christmas, saying she’ll love Hong Kong (just as Shaun walks in).  He asks “what the hell” - looking very confused.

I cannot believe that they have Aiden working in the PD with Hope just outside the office window, staring at her – and then he calls her in the office with him, to talk to him about a case.  Creepy.  She’s obviously uncomfortable.  He closes with the Steffano Dimira file, she gets out of there as soon as she can.  As Chad talks with Sonny in the square, Gabi comes over to offer her condolences to Chad about Abby; she tells him she was a good friend to her, even after she killed her cousin, Nick.  She encouraged her and said she could still have a life; and now she does, she is sad that Abby is not there raising her child too.  Shaun tells JJ he wishes he would have stayed closer to Abigail; he asks how he got mixed up with Ben in the first place.  JJ tells him Ben was “fine and first, then went off the rails.”  He talks to Shaun about the things he grandmother (who is a “shrink”) told him; another detective comes in demanding to talk to JJ, with an obvious chip on his shoulder.

Chad fills in Sonny and Gabi on his ideas to reorganize Dimira Enterprises; Gabi says he needs to freshen up his own image in order to do that.  She offers to go shopping with him.  After their shopping trip, Chad offers Gabi a job as his image consultant.  Rafe and Hope have a glass of wine after work; she has a sore shoulder and he offers to rub it.  They start kissing of course; then she says they have to stop because Ciara could be home any minute, but they keep on.  Aiden is looking through Steffano’s file; his detective comes in to tell him that the phone call from Steffano’s phone came from a tower near Hope’s house.  He wonders, what if Hope did kill Steffano?

09-08-2016 (Thursday)

Brady asks Teresa if she is sure she doesn’t want a big wedding; she says, yes… she is sure – she wants City Hall.  They laugh about how they are not the same people they used to be; they grew up (yeah, whatever).  Nicole has taken over a bridal shower, originally planned by Anne (but Anne had a family emergency, apparently); Eve Teresa’s sister, shows up.  Nicole tells her that she doesn’t think Teresa is going to show; Eve says she will go get her.  Even though they were about to “turn in early,” Eve talks Teresa into going out with her for a night on the town.  Brady gets a letter from Eric; the girls sit down at a table with cake and champagne.  It all gets to be a little too much for Nicole and she goes outside for some air; Brady shows up.  Nicole cries; she feels she ruined this for Teresa.  He tells her they understand that this is rough for her; but he has to tell her he got a letter from Eric, he is trying to make amends.  He asks if she can forgive him; she asks if he can.  She says she couldn’t if she wanted to.  Brady goes in to get Teresa and they head home.  Teresa and Eve have one more glass of champagne.

Victor says Kate is probably wondering how she can spin this; wondering how much they know… she laughs.  Victor says it’s time to pay the piper.  She denies it of course, says they are just trying to point the finger at her to take suspicion off of them.  Deimos tells her it didn’t work; the Kiriakis gravy train was coming to an end when he came back from the dead, so kidnapping Tate was her way of putting Deimos and Victor at each other’s throat… but she ended up uniting them.  They tell her she should be scared.  Deimos tells her Nicole did some digging and interviewed a man named Titus, the sole purveyor of the drug that was given to Teresa; he remembers the ‘women’ who bought it…  saying she was a friend of “bettsies” (high priced call girls who sell drugs to their clients).  They say she fits the description, has it out for them, and hates Teresa; she says Teresa is nothing more than a slight annoyance to her.  She says she’s not listening to this anymore and starts to leave, until Deimos tells her he has proof.  Victor tells her that he talked to Titus himself, and he is willing to testify in court… they have the transaction on video.  Kate finally admits to taking Tate, saying he was never in any danger; Victor is pissed she put Brady through hell; she says she is tired of Kiriakis men and their arrogance.  She tells them that she found some interesting things while she had access to all kinds of books and information hidden in that mansion, threatening to turn them into “Interpole”, if they call Roman to arrest her for the kidnapping.  They tell her she may be able to blackmail them, but she won’t be able to stop Brady from turning her in.  She suggests they do their best to make sure that Brady doesn’t find out.  She proposes they find a fall-guy to pin it on (and fast, she adds).

Milo (Orphius) tells Clyde that they can work together, but he better not get in his way.  He quotes Stalin, and Clyde is a little taken back; then they laugh when Milo says destiny seems to be on their side.  Clyde carries on about how the people in that town all think they are better than anyone else… he guesses Milo hates Marlena Evans the most – says even when she’s smiling, it looks like she smells something bad.  Milo vows to wipe the smile off her face, with John watching; then the scene changes to black and white again.  It’s Steve and Kayla; Steve shoves Milo, and they run up a set of stairs… he shoots at them.  He says there are many more too.

Joey talks to his parents about how lost he feels; that he feels like he can’t ask them what’s going on, or if his dad’s coming home…apparently they keep him in the dark about everything.  Steve swears he’s trying.  Kayla stands up to leave after she gets frustrated with the discussion, and almost passes out; Steve grabs her as she is falling and tells Joey to call the hospital.  Joey feels responsible for his mother being in the hospital now, but Steve says if he hadn’t called that family meeting, she could have been alone when it happened.  Kayla wakes up from her surgery to see Steve and Joey there; calls them her “family unit.”  Steve says that the doctor said it all went perfectly; she’ll be her old self in no time and he wants that more than anything.  She tells them she is glad their two faces are the first thing she saw when she woke up; they both promise they will still be there later.

I guess Brady and Teresa changed their minds about spending the night together before the wedding; he brings her home, kisses her goodbye and says he’ll see her tomorrow.  Clyde introduces Milo to Victor’s nephew, Xander, who tells Milo he is willing to help them because he wants revenge on the little bitch who came onto him and then said he attacked her – Teresa Donovan.

09-07-2016 (Wednesday)

Gabi brings Ariana to see Sonny in the park… he mentions how much Ari has grown; then he mentions JJ, and Gabi kind of flips out, saying he has only called her once the whole time he has been in Miami.  Sonny defends him, saying he’s going through a lot, emotionally – she says he should call someone who cares to help him through that.  JJ gets home; he tells Julie he’s sure Gabby is mad at him because he didn’t stay in touch.  Julie tells him to drop her; apparently she does not like her, because she killed somebody named Nate way be when.  He asks her to back off.

Victor asks Maggie about moving in with Deimos; she says she doesn’t need a fancy room in their old East Wing, all she needs is him.  Deimos calls Victor and tells him he needs to see him immediately… For whatever reason, when Julie comes to visit, she tries to talk Maggie into doing it; she gives her all kinds of reasons and then tells her that it would be a chance for the brothers to bond, and that she is the glue that will help heal the crack in that relationship.  Maggie is uncomfortable to hear that.  Maggie says she is worried about them fighting; Julie tells her in the end that doesn’t really matter… maybe they could learn to love each other (to learn what brotherly love is).

Chad calls Kate and says he needs her help; he tells her about the problem with Dimira Enterprises…it is in shambles, most are only borderline legal, and the bookkeeping is all over the place.  He wants to make big changes, in order to keep a promise he made to Abby.  She agrees to help him.  Laura, Jennifer’s mom, shows up in the doorway and tells him it’s a mistake to ask Kate Roberts for anything.  Chad is a bit confused about the anger between these two women; Laura reminds him that she once stole the corporation out from under his father.  Chad suggests that she leave, after Laura brings up the men Kate has slept around with, including her husband.  She continues to rant that he is becoming the man he father would be proud of, and tells him if he had checked Abigail into anywhere other than Shady Hills for treatment, she would have been alright.  He excuses himself from the room, leaving the two women standing there.  He ends up running into JJ in the square and asks him if they can try to get along, for Abby’s sake; JJ agrees.

In the park, JJ tries to explain to Gabi why he didn’t call, where his head was and he tells her that he missed her like crazy; even though she says she missed him too, she pulls her hand away when he reaches for it.  Still, she almost kisses him, but hears her alarm and has to go pick Ari up from ballet class.  Milo gets moved in with Clyde’s cell; Clyde tells him that he is arranged it… he says he is consumed with hate, and he just may know a way to make Milo’s dream come true.  He tells him he has a few scores to settle in Salem, himself; Milo suggests may it well happen.

Deimos tells Victor that he found out who Titus Drew sells to; they say it was staring them right in the face this whole time, but they were too busy pointing fingers at each other.  They say it is time to confront Tate’s kidnapper; they show up and Kate Roberts is waiting in the park “to meet somebody.”  JJ talks to Laura about his trip to Miami and the fact that no bodies were recovered… she comforts him; after he leaves, Laura makes a voice memo on her phone; a reminder to call somebody about Abby’s body not being found – she believes Abby was in full control of her faculties at the time of ‘her death’ and maybe they can’t take it at face value.  Chad tries to call Kate to apologize for the way Laura treated her, he leaves a message and tells her he really needs her help in order for this to work; he asks her to call, but she is busy with Victor and Deimos at the park.  Victor tells her they have some unfinished business, and asks if she really thought they wouldn’t find out what she did.  She tries to leave, but Victor stops her.

09-06-2016 (Tuesday)

So, after the 'holiday' and having no show on Monday, they crammed a whole lot into today's show... get ready!

Victor thanks John for his help, investigating that drug dealer, Titus Drew; John tells him
he needs to fix things with Brady before his and Teresa’s wedding tomorrow.  He tries, but Brady just can't bring himself to believe that he had nothing to do with taking Tate.  Apparently, they are just getting married at City Hall, rather than having a big wedding… Nicole walks in to see them kissing, and teases them about that kind of stuff being for the wedding night.  Teresa and Nicole laugh about how far they’ve come and hug each other.

Adrian sees Steve and says he looks surprisingly like her brother; she chews him out for blowing her off three times now, and asks what’s going on.  He tells her he’s freaking out – he tells her he skipped out on the session with Marlena.  Adian calls him a big dummy; she says this may be his last chance, and he better not blow it.  Kayla talks to Marlena; she says loving Steve Johnson is a full-time job… Marlena says it might be worth it.  Later, Steve talks to Kayla in the park.  He tells her that he knows the problem is with him, and he will get help – he just wants it to be with someone he doesn’t know.  He tells her he will make an appointment; she will believe it when she sees it.

Chad talks to Thomas about going to stay with Adrian and Lucas, and promises that he will come visit him all the time, then realizes he can't do it.  He walks into another room to find Andre there; Andre says he needs his family... Chad just shakes his head.  Jennifer opens her door to see her mother; Jen confesses, she has been addicted to pain medication and believes it is her fault that Abby is gone.  Jennifer’s mom reassures her that it’s not, and tells her she is sure Abby did not have the same condition she once had.  She says that Abby was misdiagnosed at the clinic.  All her problems were just side effects of PTSD and the medication they were giving her, because it was wrong; she promises Jen, Abby was trying to find her way back to her.    They go to visit Chad; he tells Jennifer that he has changed his mind about giving up Thomas.  She gets mad and tries to convince him he really should; Lucas and Adrian walk in.  Jennifer had called them to come pick Thomas up.  Chad gets a little angry (though I’ve never seen him get very angry – I really like this character's demeanor)… Adrian suggests that she and Lucas move in there to help him, instead.  Lucas thinks she’s out of line, and doesn’t want to be that close to the Dimira’s.  She says they are family, and begins to cry.  He says okay.  Chad says, that, he’s okay with.  They ask to take him for now and say they will bring him back later… Chad agrees.  He asks Jen if she thinks maybe her mom will like him more now – she wouldn’t even talk to him earlier.  Jennifer says it doesn’t even matter.  (Whew.)

Deimos tells Victor he has a proposal for him; he would like he and Maggie to move back into the house, so she can recuperate.  He offers Nicole to move in as well, and tells her about Titus Drew; she recognizes the name from her days as a journalist and offers to use her investigative skills to help as well.  Marlena goes to see a prisoner – (Clyde Weston); he tells her he needs a favor.  After listening to him, she tells him she wouldn’t help him even if she could and she leaves.  A man named Milo Harp…says he used to be known as Orphius, comes in and introduces himself to Clyde.  Clyde is surprised he knows “Dr. Evans” and even more surprised that the man says he used to know her “intimately” – Milo recently transferred there, and may be moved soon, but says it’s torture to be that close to Salem because he wants to kill everyone there.  Clyde tells him it’s a “pipe dream” – scene flashes to an old black and white clip of a very young Marlena asking a young gentleman to please let her go – he tells Clyde they should think about ways to make that pipe dream a reality.

Aiden makes a call to an unrevealed individual; he tells them he was in the right place at the right time today and may have found an ali (was he at the jail?).  Steve tells Kayla that he filled out a form with a lot of personal questions, and he saw a pattern about his childhood and the things his brother Duke used to do to him and Adrian (which I’m not familiar with); he realizes his behavior is due to lousy self-esteem.  Deimos reminds Nicole that he made the offer for her to move in, as well; she tells him no thank you… then whispers in his ear, something she heard from one of her sources about Titus Drew.  He says that could “blow this whole thing wide open.”  Hmmm.

09-02-2016 (Friday)

Franco talks to Elizabeth while she is sleeping; he tells her how beautiful she is, and how strong and amazing she is to survive such a fall… then mentions how awful it is that her sister did this to her.  She starts to wake and asks what he was saying.  Finn hands Hayden’s medical record to a nurse and asks her to make sure that the PCPD gets a complete copy of it; she questions the order, but he cuts her off and tells her just to do it.  Jason and Sam wake up together; they are ready for their big day.  Carly asks Sonny how their ‘special guest’ is; upstairs getting ready.  Sonny asks if she is sure she hasn’t gone overboard; she assures him she hasn’t.  Jake comes down stairs; Alexis arrives with the girls and Danny.  Sam and Jason joke about eloping, but get ready to head over to Sonny’s anyway.

Michael and Sabrina stop by the hospital on their way to the hospital, to see Monica; she tells them about Elizabeth.  Sabrina tells Michael to go on alone; she wants to stay with Elizabeth.  Franco is there when Liz wakes up.  Curtis arranges a meeting for Nina with an expectant mother; Curtis excuses himself… he tells Nina he has faith in her.  Unfortunately for Nina, Ava happens by (I guess they are in a public park); she sees Nina reaching out to touch the girl’s tummy, as the baby was kicking, and tells the girl not to let Nina near her baby.  She scares the girl away; Nina gets really pissed and yells at her, asking when she’s going to pay for her crimes.  Nathan breaks them up, and Ava leaves.  Nathan hugs his sister.  Carly is musing about how the theme is ‘Summer casual’ and she thinks Jason and Sam will be happy with that; they show up looking like they are dressed for a ball.  Kristina says, it’s okay… she went shopping yesterday, thinking they would show up in t-shirts and jeans, and has the perfect outfits picked out for them.

Franco tries to get in to see Hayden (he wants to let her know that he knows she is Liz’ sister), but the cop doesn’t buy his story.  Finn shows up; he tells them the hospital sent over her records and he is there to treat her (they let him go right in).  He phonied her records, to show that he has been treating her since the shooting last year; he gives her an antacid.  He asks how she’s doing; better, now that he is there, she says.  He blames himself for her being there, because he suggested the drink on the promenade; otherwise, she could have been gone before the cops got there.  She thinks she is doomed because of her volatile relationship with Elizabeth; no one will believe she didn’t do it.

Nathan and Paul come into Liz’ hospital room to ask her some questions.  As she recalls the evening, she remembers seeing him in Monica’s office (his memory flashes to the scene, where he is hiding a syringe behind his back); he gets seemingly uncomfortable.  She goes on recounting the events leading up to her getting pushed; Monica interrupts, saying Elizabeth needs to rest now.  Hayden’s mother tries to see her; she is turned away because the doctor is still in there.  Franco confronts Naomi; he says Hayden has been detained for trying to murder her sister.  He tells her he knows everything and says soon everyone else will know everything too; he starts to walk away.  She grabs his arm and tells him that no one else can ever know.  She says Elizabeth idolizes her father and she’s not in shape to learn that her parent’s perfect marriage was an illusion.

Monica breaks the news to Elizabeth that Sam and Jason are getting married today.  Carly surprises them with Spenelli (newly ordained, and ready to officiate their marriage).  Sam is thrilled.  The photographer takes pictures pre-wedding; everyone laughs and poses.  The music starts and Sam steps into the doorway; Jason eagerly waits.

09-01-2016 (Thursday)

Teresa is trying on her wedding dress, and picking herself apart; Anne assures her she just needs a few days rest and she will be her “gorgeous self” for her wedding.  Anne begins to reminisce about Teresa and Brady’s lurid past, and Teresa tells her to stop, saying she is just glad they are were they are now.  Brady takes the pill he found on the floor, at Victor’s, to Shaun; Shaun asks him if he really thinks Victor could have kidnapped his own grandchild.  Brady says yes.  He thinks his need to control his family has clouded his judgment (sounds awfully familiar to me).  He’s thinking now that he was setting Summer up; maybe she didn’t really do it.

Brady goes to talk to Daniel, at his graveside; tells him he doesn’t understand why he had him chasing after Summer, though he knows there had to be some kind of price tag for the gift of his heart.  Brady says he feels like a lost cause; Victor shows up and tells him he is not a lost cause.  Brady tells him he has nothing to say to him – but Victor won’t give up, saying he could have just taken him to court if he wanted to take the baby away from him.  Brady tells him with their past, and his interference in his life, so he’s going to need proof he wasn’t involved in the kidnapping.  Shaun calls with the results; the drug is the same one that was found in Teresa’s system… and it was sold by a man named Titus Drew, whom Victor has had a long-standing relationship with.  Brady questions his grandfather about this.  Victor says he doesn’t do business with him, but he has bought him a cup of coffee from time to time, and gets information from him about what’s going on, on the streets.  Brady tells Victor about the pill he found on his floor and its connection to Teresa’s drugging; He tells Victor he is done with him, and orders him to stay away from his family from now on.

Philip comes to visit Kate in her new home; he asks her for a business loan, but leaves without accepting it when she makes it a condition of the loan that he admit he is not the father of Chloe’s child.  Nicole talks to Chloe in the park; she does her best to lie to Nicole, but Nicole gets Chloe to admit that Philip is not really the father, Deimos is.  Nicole tries to convince her that she should tell Deimos, swearing he is now a “changed man” but ultimately agrees to keep her secret, for now.  Chloe says men like Deimos don’t change.  Nicole swears she has seen it; Deimos is not the same guy.  Chloe says that just means Nicole has fallen in love with him; Nicole looks frightened at the mention of those words.

Deimos offers Justin his help; Justin says no-thank-you.  Deimos mentions Sonny and Justin tells him to stay the hell away from him; Deimos tells Justin to tell Sonny to stay away from him.  Just because he has turned over a new leaf, doesn’t mean he’s going to roll over for anyone, he says.  Nicole goes to tell Dario that she is going back to work for Basic Black; she doesn’t want to see it go under, and it’s been neglected…and gives her something to think about other than what she’s lost.  She promises him they’ll see each other; he tells her if she needs anything at all, he always has her back.  He shakes his head as she walks away.  He goes to see Deimos, and tells him he needs to pick up some extra work; Deimos hires him without hesitation, telling him he has a job for him, keeping tabs on Chloe Lane.  Chloe tells Philip that Nicole now knows about the baby; says she knows her too well and just knew she was lying.  Kate interrupts them, and hands Philip a check; tells him that even though she doesn’t approve of his choices, she wants to help, and walks away.  Chloe says she is just trying to buy her way into his life.

Nicole walks back in to see Dario and Deimos shaking hands; she assumes he is there, confronting Deimos about her.  Neither of them deny it, Dario simply saying he had some things to get straight with Deimos, and Deimos just saying he is very loyal.  Although, he adds that Dario has a “major thing” for her… she swears they are just friends.  Then she reminds him that she is not yet his to be jealous over; he says he hopes that changes soon because he is falling madly in love with her.  Dario goes back to work; Chloe and Philip come into the bar, discussing the money his mother gave him – he swears it’s just business.  He says he can, and will handle his mother.

08-31-2016 (Wednesday)

Belle takes Claire shopping, and they discuss her future career; they also talk about Chloe’s relationship with Shaun, and Belle and Phillip.  Then Claire mentions ‘this boy’ who she likes, but he’s not really over another girl; Theo runs into Ciara in the square and asks her about moving back home – she says her mom needed help after the surgery, so… they both shrug.  They meet Claire and her mom there and Claire asks if she can come with them to take flowers to Jennifer; Claire grabs Theo’s hand and walks off (Theo is smiling, but looks confused, and Ciara rolls her eyes).

Chad and Jennifer are talking…being ‘civil’ to each other, considering all that’s gone on.  She tells him she is still concerned about his ability to take care of Thomas – and he throws out that there’s no way she is able to care for him, given the fact that she tried to overdose “last night.”  She agrees; after she leaves, Chad talks to Abigail, apologizing for never renovating the mansion like he promised they would.  He says, “let’s do it baby…let’s renovate” and he starts tearing the room apart (throwing furniture and décor around in anger).  Meanwhile, the kids show up at Jennifer’s house; Doug and Julie tell them Jen is not there.  They ask Claire about her music and she mentions Theo being her biggest fan; Ciara gets upset and leaves the room.  Julie follows and asks what’s wrong; she claims just to be worried about Chad.  Lucas and Adrian show up.

When Jennifer gets home, they all reminisce about Abby as a baby and young girl; Jennifer says she takes solace in the fact that Abby is not hurting any more, and she is with Jack.  Theo asks Claire to sing a song for them; she sings Amazing Grace, as the scene flashes from there to Chad throwing things around, them hugging, and back again to Chad crying.  Jennifer tells her family that she is concerned that Chad isn’t in shape to take care of Thomas; Lucas defends him, but Jennifer doesn’t think he deserves a chance.  She acknowledges that she won’t ever get custody now, after falling off the wagon again, but says she just wants Thomas to be safe.  Lucas tells her to call him if she even thinks about using again; she promises she will.  Belle goes to see Chad and finds him on the floor; he tells her that he wants her to be a part of his future.

Laughing about how cathartic his little tantrum was, he says he wants to change things; he wants to make Dimira Enterprises great again, for Thomas’ security – he asks her to come to work for him, doing legal paperwork and such.  He promises her competitive pay and reasonable hours, and says she can still take cases on the side; and says she could take pride in helping to legitimize the Dimira name.  She says she will think about it, then begins to clean up his mess.  Sonny and Gabi have lunch, then they go to visit Will’s grave; he tells her it was something he’s been wanting to do, but couldn’t do it alone.  They talk about what a wonderful person Will was, and Sonny says all this past year has taught him is that you have to protect those that you love and stay close to them because you never know when they will be gone.

Julie reads her daughter a poem, saying when she is ready to have a memorial for Abby, she would like to read it; the poem is “Do Not Stand at My Grave and Cry” and it ends with the words, “I do not sleep; I did not die.”  The scene flashes to a dingy motel room?  A girl is sobbing under the covers; all that is visible is hand, with a familiar ring on her finger.

08-30-2016 (Tuesday)

Rafe calls to check on Hope, as he tells his brother that Aiden Jennings is the new D.A.; he is concerned about her reaction to this turn of events.  Hope walks into Aiden’s office; she tells him that she can’t believe he is in charge of putting criminals behind bars.  She tells him there is no way she will ever think he is a good guy.  As she roughly reaches out and straightens his tie, Rafe walks in.  Rafe tells her that she needs to be careful because now that Justin is the D.A., he could be a threat to them.  He tells her they have to tow the line, as cops, because if Justin finds out what they did, he will come down on them hard.  Hope takes out her badge and throws it on the table, and leaves.

Victor posts bond after his hearing and Justin brings him home; Maggie is there… he promises her he did not set up Tates’s kidnapping.  He tells her that thinks Deimos had something to do with it; tells her that he can stand everyone else not believing him, but he needs her to.  Nicole goes to see Deimos.

Philip and Chloe announce to Kate that she is pregnant with is child; Kate questions whether it is actually his child – he tells her it is not up to her to question.  She leaves; she calls Deimos pretending to be a nurse at an obstetrician’s office, asking for Chloe, saying she left that number on file.  Then apologizes for bothering him, saying she sees another cell phone number.  He tells Nicole that he needs to go take care of something and invites her to stay at his house; she says she has things to do too, so they both leave.  Philip leaves Chloe at a table as he goes to take a phone call; Deimos shows up to talk to Chloe.  He tells her he heard she was pregnant; she tells him the baby is Philips but he says he doesn’t believe her.  Philip comes back to the table and tells him it doesn’t matter if he believes it or not.

Adrian runs into Justin; she questions why he lost his job…he doesn’t really want to explain.  Brady and Teresa talk; she tells him Maggie came home today and she would like to go visit her – she agrees not to go in if Victor is there.  Maggie is happy to see Tate, but tells them she doesn’t have long because she has a physical therapy session soon.  Nicole tells Dario that she is dating Deimos now; he is not happy about it (secretly, I believe, he fell in love with her), but he tells her he will respect her decision.  She hugs him sweetly, but he doesn’t really reciprocate.  When she goes back to see Deimos, he tells her Chloe is pregnant with is child… this news makes her uneasy and she tells him she needs to go think before she says anything.  Aiden comes to see Kate in her new ‘home’…they toast to “world domination” starting with Salem.

08-29-2016 (Monday)

Paul tells his dad he doesn’t think he’s cut out for private detective work; he felt horrible about following Jennifer and digging into her pain like that; his dad encourages him to give it chance.  Just as they finish up their conversation, Sonny shows up; John excuses himself, and Sonny sits down.  Sonny orders lunch and asks Paul how it’s going; Paul tells him he is having a hard time with the job because he’s afraid it is going to ruing his relationships with people.  Sonny seems to understand.

Jade sees Joey in the square and calls out; she asks if he’s avoiding her – mentioning that living back with her parents is going okay.  She asks if he has a new girlfriend, or if he figured out he is out of her league…he avoids her calls and refuses to carry on a text conversation; he tells her he is going to see a ‘shrink’ and he thinks she may be part of his anger problem.  She reminds him she wasn’t around when he was with Ava; he acknowledges, it isn’t all her (it’s the fact that he finds her so exciting…he likes the thrill).  He says, he’s afraid that he’s turning into his dad.  Kayla tells Steve that she wants to go to couples counseling; he tells her that’s not his thing.  He says he doesn’t need a therapist to find his way back to her because he is already there; she is the one saying it can’t work.  She gets mad and says he can’t blame her; he asks what more he has to do to prove he’s trying (he’s given up his job, working at a bar).  She looks completely frustrated; after she carries on for some time, he says okay, he can tell this means a lot to her.  He tells her to call.  They leave the house and stroll through the park, where they come across Joey and Jade, just as Jade is telling him to go to hell and leaves.  They tell him they are going to take his advice; they are going to therapy (which means they will be seeing Marlena as well).  After Kayla leaves them alone, Joey tells his dad he is sure he will hate it as much as he does.

Eduardo tells his family that he is leaving Salem; he feels it is best, and necessary, in order to keep them safe.  Gabi is bothered by the news, and by her brother’s behavior; she tells Rafe that she thinks Dario is acting strangely, like there’s something he is not telling them.  Dario is on the phone with the guy who grabbed Gabi, telling him to get out of town; the man tells Dario he has decided there are more reasons for him to stay.  He demands more money; Dario tells his family he has to leave.  Eduardo hugs Gabi, as she cries; he shakes Rafe’s hand and then hugs him.  Gabi and Rafe leave; Eduardo holds Adriana tight and promises her he will make everything right and come back for good.  She says it’s not fair, as she just got him back.  Dario meets the would-be kidnapper and pays him some money, telling him that is it; they guy laughs.  Gabi sees him as he rounds the corner in the square and she starts to scream; the man covers her mouth and tells her to shut up, adding that he is really tired of her family.  He leaves.

Steve cancels on Kayla as she waits at Marlene’s office for him to show; she tells John she doesn’t think he is going to show.  John goes to the bar and finds him with a drink in hand, talking to some lady who just sat down.  Joey finds Jade and tells her he loves her; he wants to be with her, no matter what anybody says.
