03-21-2017 (Tuesday) The Disappearance

Gabi responds to Chad, quickly, saying she loves him too; he tells her to please let him finish.  He tells her that he loves her, but he cannot see her anymore; he says he can’t be anywhere near her anymore.  She is devastated, but says she understands; she says she loves him so much, she only wants him to be happy, so she agrees to honor his request and never see him again.  Eli shows up, as Gabi’s date to the fundraiser; she does her best to be cordial to him, but she runs into the other room and starts crying.  Abigail sees her and follows her into the room; she tells Gabi that she loves her and is sorry that this is hurting her, but that she has to honor her husband’s wishes.  She says she hopes that things can return to normal one day; Gabi smirks at the word normal and they laugh about belly-dancing.  They say their goodbyes.

Gabi goes back out to talk to Eli; he asks her to tell him about herself, and she does her best, fully disclosing that she has spent some time in prison.  He tells her he feels lucky to be standing next to her; she looks very unhappy as she watches Chad and Abigail dance.  Dario asks her if she’s okay; she tells him that they said their goodbyes and she’s a little sad, but she’ll be aright.  A man, claiming to be a reporter for the Spectator, approaches Abby; he says he missed the red carpet and asks if he could get a quote, outside.  Abby stupidly agrees that it’s too noisy in there, and invites him to follow her out.  When Chad stands up to give his thank you speech, he tries to introduce Abigail, but she isn’t anywhere to be found.  Dario finds her wallet on the ground, outside the door; Gabi also steps outside, and is approached by the same man who just obviously took Abby.

Chloe talks to Eduardo; she is worrying about Holly. Diemos comes up to the table and asks how far he’s willing to go to protect this “lady” – Eduardo tells him he doesn’t want to know.  They say a few threatening words, politely, to each other and Deimos leaves.  He tells Chloe as he goes that he will find Nicole, convince her to take him back and she (Chloe) will never see Holly again.  Chloe tells Eduardo she doesn’t have anybody on her side there in Salem; Eduardo tells her he has her back.  Kate comes by and makes some snarky comments to Chloe and to Eduardo about Chloe; after she leaves, Chloe offers to help him make Kate jealous; she kisses him.

Brady and Nicole make their way across the Canadian border; he sets her up in a nice house, in a small town, paid for with funds that can’t be traced, he tells her.  She thanks him and says she and Holly will be fine; he tells Nicole that he thinks he should stay with her.  She tells him he needs to get back to Tate; he agrees, but says that he won’t leave her there for long.  He’s coming back.  A knock on the door startles Nicole; Brady tells her it’s okay.  He answers it; a lady introduces herself as “Britney?” and asks them to tell her their story.  They introduce themselves as Freddy and Bridgett, and end up telling a very romantic love story about their friendship, marriage to others, and ultimate realization that they belong together.  She excuses herself to get some banana bread out of the oven; she tells Brady she’ll look out for Nicole and the baby while he is gone.  Brady and Nicole awkwardly hug and she kisses him on the cheek; it is so obvious that they are in love with each other.  He leaves.

Back at home, Brady tells his pilot he will be making frequent hops under this assumed name; Deimos comes in and asks him where Nicole is.  Brady just walks out of the room, waving his hand; Nicole says goodbye to her new friend, after enjoying some her banana bread, and tells Holly they have everything they are going to need (including “daddy, Freddy” every now and then).  Her new friend is on the phone as she returns to her cabin; she thanks the “Captain” and says she is not interested in a new assignment.  This police officer is on vacation, she says.
