06-15-21017 (Thursday) The Confession

Jade says absolutely nothing, as Claire explains to Joey all about the sex tape idea, her recording it without their knowledge, and her uploading it to Theo’s computer.  She orders Jade to admit it, but Jade still says nothing.  Claire says for once Jade has nothing to say… Joey tells her she needs to own this if she is truly going to be more responsible; Jade admits it was all her.  She says she knew a sex tape would get Claire more exposure; Claire says that’s a good choice of words.  Jade says she did it because she cares about her; Claire scoffs.  She says it’s no wonder she doesn’t have any friends; she says she hates Jade, adding that she never liked her in the first place.  She starts calling her names and belittling her; Theo tells Claire to stop.  Joey and Jade leave.  Theo tells Claire that he is sorry he didn’t believe her and jumped all over her without hearing the full story; she tells him she doesn’t accept his apology.

Joey takes Jade to the park and they sit down on a bench; she berates herself, saying she is where she is because of the dumb things she does; she calls herself a pathetic wreck.  Joey tells her he didn’t help when it comes to way she feels about sex; he tried to act like there shouldn’t be any feelings attached, but there are, he says… there are, he adds, and he says he’s sorry.  Theo asks why she won’t accept his apology; she says because he chose to accuse her of lying to him, showing he doesn’t trust her – he doesn’t think she is a decent person with morals and values, she phrases her love for him in the past tense, and adds, if she were Ciara, he wouldn’t have doubted her for a second.  She tells him she didn’t really want to be famous; she just wanted her music to be heard… she wanted people to know what she felt love was, adding, she thought it was this, but she was wrong.  She goes in her room and shuts the door.  Joey tells Jade that he still wants to be her friend, even if it has to be at a distance for a while; he suggests, next time she comes up with one of her schemes, she run it by him first.  She says okay.

Chad and JJ manage to get the knife away from Paul; they wrestle him to the ground.  He is burning up and he passes out; Gabi checks on Sonny.  He is bleeding from his forehead but seems to be okay.  They carry Paul back to their camp site; he wakes up.  Sonny coaxes him to drink some water; he talks to Paul about all they have overcome together.  He says they can get through anything because their love makes them strong; he begs Paul to come back to him.  Paul closes his eyes.  Sonny continues to wipe his head with a wet cloth and talk to him; Paul eventually opens his eyes again.  He looks more present.  He is; Sonny starts to untie him.  Paul tells Sonny, if he loves him, he will keep him tied up for everyone else’s sake; he warns, the sickness is still inside of him.  Gabi takes over tending to Paul; Chad and Sonny discuss whether or not they are going to be okay.  Sonny asks what they are going to do; Chad says he doesn’t know and he is just glad they are there with the people they love.

Lani confides in Eli, that she isn’t so sure about her relationship with JJ anymore; she is frustrated that he doesn’t want to move things along.  Eli tells her he is glad she felt that she could come to him to talk about it; he asks her if she has tried talking to JJ.  She says they have good chemistry… she knows JJ enjoys being with her; but, she says, that’s all it is for him and she needs to protect her heart.  Eli tells her that JJ must be “loco” if he doesn’t truly have feelings for her; he begins to compliment her, a lot.  She laughs that he hated her at first sight; he says hate is a strong word.  He tells her if JJ doesn’t see what he has in her, she should forget him and adds that any guy in his right mind would be lucky to have her.  He says he is man enough to admit when he’s wrong; he tells her JJ is a good man, and smart too – he says he’s sure he knows the good thing he’s got.  JJ walks up, saying, “you’re right, I do.”  Lani tells JJ they need to talk; she says he is too distant and it feels like he is pulling away more, emotionally.  She asks if she is wrong; he says, “no, you’re not.”  He tells her he is just so scared of hurting her, because he seems to hurt everyone he cares about; she asks if that’s all it is and he says, yes, that’s all it is.  She tells him she isn’t worried about him hurting her, so he shouldn’t be worried about it; he says okay.  They kiss, acknowledging that they are good.

Steve tells Angelica that his sister doesn’t have an enemy on the planet; no one would think of hurting her, except Angelica, he says.  Apparently Justice used to be Angelica’s boyfriend and Kayla “stole him away.”  He asks her why she is going after Adrian now; Angelica says revenge is a dish best served cold.  He questions her about Howard, asking when the dude will be back; she tells him there is no “dude” and sits down at the desk.  Steve mocks her for hiding behind a false identity because she can’t fight fair; she smirks that Adrian can’t fight her own battles.  He asks why she cares about that modest paper that can barely turn a profit; she says it was her step-son’s legacy (Jack), Steve’s brother.  She says it’s all about her rights, and revenge, which she will have whatever it takes.  She tells him they all before gear up for the fight of their lives; he tells her she is making the biggest mistake of her life and she says we’ll see about that.  He leaves.
