Jade talks to Tripp and
tells him there is probably no evidence against Kayla; he vows to find
some. Joey prepares for a date; Tripp
calls Steve. He invites Tripp to join
him on the case he’s working on; he tells him to meet him in ten minutes. They go to a motel room to keep an eye on a
cheating spouse; he apologizes for the job being somewhat lame. Joey’s date is quite pretty; she asks a lot
of questions about his family and he tells her he’d like to talk about her
instead. They start laughing; Jade
walks in. She looks jealous. Joey’s date goes to the bathroom; Jade comes
over, stunned that he is already out on a date. He tells her he has moved on and she should do the same.
Steve asks Tripp to see if there’s a root beer in the fridge; Tripp chuckles, and says that he likes root beer too. Tripp thinks about what he’d like to do for a job; Steve suggests he “shadow” Kayla around the hospital to see if he wants to go to medical school. Tripp decides that shadowing Kayla sounds like a pretty good idea. After Joey leaves his date; Jade approaches the girl and tells her Joey is a “total player.” She tells the girl he knocked her up and dumped her; then tells her she lost the baby and Joey was relieved. She suggests the girl skip the second date; the girl says, “definitely.” Tripp asks his dad about his affair with his mother last year, claiming it was in the case file; he tells Tripp Ava blackmailed him into sleeping with her. He pretends not to know already and says Kayla must have been upset when she found out; Steve admits that she was. Steve goes to see Kayla at the hospital and tells her Tripp is interested in working with her; Tripp tells Jade his father gave him an idea about how to get close to Kayla… he says he is going to ruin her life.
Nicole makes it to the plane; the pilot brings out her baby. He asks where Eric is; Nicole just looks nervous. Eric is tied up to the bed now; Xander leans over him and tells him he was “a bad boy.” Eric laughs when Xander mentions that he thinks he still has Nicole’s baby; Xander demands he tell him how he did it and where the baby is. Eric tells him she is safe in her mother’s arms, far away from there; Xander throws a chair. The pilot says that Eric told him, if he didn’t make it back with Nicole, they are to leave without him; he decides to take off. The pilot asks Nicole where she wants to go; she says anywhere far away from Salem. Xander tells Eric this is not going to end well for him. Nicole calls Brady; he is so happy to hear from her. Calling her “Nic,” he tells her he loves her so much; he asks to talk to Eric, and as Nicole tries to tell him that Eric didn’t make it out with her, the phone cuts out. The pilot announces that they are ready to go; she apparently tells him to wait, because she is seen next asking a Greek police officer for help to go and rescue Eric. The officer tells her to escort him back to the mansion to identify the suspect; she stupidly does, and the officer hands her back over to Xander. He says she may regret coming back for man she doesn’t even like… “big time.” Eric asks why she isn’t on the plane; she says, for Brady’s sake, she couldn’t leave him behind.
Kayla tells Brady that his body isn’t responding to the medication; she also tells him it isn’t likely that they will find him a new heart. He realizes he is dying. She and Marlena tell him they aren’t giving up on him that easy and tell him to hang in there; Kayla leaves the room. Brady tells his mother that he sent Eric to get Nicole; she worries about the bad blood between him and Deimos. John walks in the hospital room; Marlena hugs him. Brady is happy to see him. As Brady sleeps, John tells him he isn’t going to leave until he’s out of the woods; he lays his head on Brady’s chest.
