05-25-2017 (Thursday) Cursed Flight

Kayla tells Joey that Jade told his date that he knocked her up and then dumped her; he says he doesn’t really care.  He says the girl was nice, just not really his type, but he says he will talk to Jade and make sure knows that they are through.  Jade talks to Tripp in the square; they are talking about Kayla.  Jade says she’s a control freak; says she bosses her husband and son around and they just let her.  He says he is going to set her up and make her pay; Jade smiles, saying, then they “holier-than-thou witch” will be out of their lives forever.  He finds Jade and Tripp and asks to speak to her alone; she tells Tripp she’ll be okay and he steps aside.  Joey tells her she needs to let him go; she says she knows he “thinks” they are through, but she still loves him.  She says that girl wasn’t right for him; she claims the girl was tweeting about him like he was some kind of joke.  He tells her he appreciates her looking out for him, but says it isn’t her business or right to interfere.  She tells him she isn’t his enemy and it hurts when he treats her like one; she walks away.

Tripp comes back and asks how it went; Joey tells him he was pretty harsh on her.  Tripp says he understands why she is so messed up, with all she has been through; Joey says he understands that, but warns Tripp not to get too close.  Tripp tells Joey that he gets why he doesn’t want anything to do with Jade now, but says he should understand why she is the way she is and says he thinks Joey owes her an apology.  They, together, go find Jade; Tripp says his little brother has something to say.  Joey tells her he is sorry for being such a jerk and coming down so hard on her; she says it’s okay, and she forgives him, everything.

Steve stops in to see Kayla; he tells her he appreciates her letting Tripp shadow her there.  She says she is excited to have him do it; she says she looks forward to spending more time with him.  Steve asks Kayla if he can steal her away from the hospital for a couple of hours; he takes her to a motel room, where he has a candlelight dinner set up and a hot tub of water ready for her to soak in.  She invites him to come wash her back.  Tripp tells Jade if this plan of his works, Kayla won’t be around much longer.  Kayla and Steve are now on the bed; he tells her the future is looking up… Stephanie is doing well, Joey is growing up and Tripp is coming around.  Tripp tells Jade destroying Kayla for killing his mom is going to be easier than he thought.

JJ, Lani, Sonny and Gabi all go over the evidence they have against Deimos; they decide they need to look for more evidence.  They and Chad start scouring the house; they don’t find much, but do find a vintage bottle of wine and pop it open.  They make a toast, Greek style (breaking plates) to a new beginning; life without Deimos.  Eli and Sonny head back to the plane, telling JJ and Lani they’ll see them there.  Gabi and Chad say goodbye; Sonny calls Victor to tell him that they have Deimos and Xander in custody.  Victor says he isn’t surprised Deimos turned out to be no good; he tells Sonny’s he will back his bid to become CEO of Titan.  Lani tells JJ that he needs to let go of his concern about Chad and Gabi; she says it’s not healthy.  He tells Lani he loves being with her, and his concern is only because of his sister; he says he knows she filed for divorce but if she changes her mind in the coming months, he doesn’t want Gabi to complicate things.

Gabi and Chad talk about what fun they had in Greece and the trouble they’ve had as well; they laugh about it.  She asks if he is sure he wants to hang onto the amulet; he says it’s the reason he came… they realize they have to get back to their “normal” lives once they land in Salem and they both get rather somber.  He tells her at least they get to enjoy the plane right together first; as friends; she smiles, and says yeah, as good friends.  Marlena touches Victor’s shoulder; he’s still in the chapel.  She tells him that Brady is still alive, and John is with him; Victor wonders if the things he has done is his life are coming back against Brady.  They talk about Brady as a young child, how precocious he was; Victor thanks her for helping to raise Bo’s son and says he is forever grateful for it.  He tells her of all the losses he’s suffered in the past few years and says he couldn’t face it if he loses his grandson; she tells him God gives us what we need.  They pray together, for peace and understanding.

Sonny goes back to tell Paul how excited he is that his Uncle Victor is going to support him; Paul says he isn’t entirely comfortable seeing how much he wants this position of power.  Paul is even more appalled when Sonny tells him that he plans to fire every single person at the company when he takes over; Paul questions, even the old lady in accounting he likes?  Sonny says he can’t have anyone with ties to Deimos working for HIS company; everyone has to go.  They prepare for take-off; Gabi runs onto the plane and asks if there is still room on the flight; she tells them it just got a little uncomfortable with the two of them, alone.  JJ smiles.

Chad boards the plane and asks if he can hitch a ride; he says his plane has had engine trouble again.  Gabi is concerned that he has brought the amulet onto their plane; she says it must be cursed.  On the way home, the plane springs a fuel leak in one of the wings; Paul tells them they are looking for a safe place to land.  She asks Chad if he still doesn’t think that thing is cursed; the plane starts going down.
