05-16-2017 (Tuesday) Too Late

Dario has a serious problem he needs to take care of; he tells someone on the phone he’ll handle it.  He calls Abby and asks her to meet him at the park in the square; he tells her it’s serious.  When she shows up, he apologizes for calling her; he tells her he is being deported.  He explains that his mother was visiting family in Mexico when he was born, and apparently something was wrong with the paperwork she filed when she came back with him; he says his lawyer tells him the only way for him to stay is to marry an American citizen.  She considers the possibility, but tells him she can’t do that right now; he tells her not to worry…he’ll think of something.  Back at work, Abby remembers first meeting Dario and the way he took care of her; then she remembers him helping when Chad and Gabi were passed out in the locker… she recalls falling from the chair at the club and Dario catching her, and dancing with him, and wonders if she should marry him.

Chad checks with his pilot; there are problems with the plane.  He sends a text to Hope; jet engine trouble… being serviced.  He looks at the amulet.  Eli calls to ask for assistance; he tells his guys in D.C. that they are stuck on the ground because of legal “red tape” – JJ says at least being stuck on the tarmac will keep Gabi out of trouble.  Lani tells JJ that Gabi is gone; she finds Sonny and Paul.  They are upset that she is there; she says she is going with them whether they like it or not.  Chad walks up and asks them what they are doing there.  They tell Chad they are there looking for Nicole; Sonny tells him they know a judge there that hates Deimos and they hope to use him to get Deimos sent back to the states for prosecution.  Eli calls and tells them where Deimos is; Paul lets it slip that Chad is there.  He tells JJ.  They both find it strange. 

Chad tells Sonny he can’t tell them why he is there, but that it will hit Deimos “below the belt.”  The judge calls and gives Sonny the okay; they leave and keep watch on Deimos.  Gabi asks Chad if he’s okay; he tells her Abigail filed for divorce.  She tells him Abigail is just emotionally confused right now; she asks if there might be someone behind this… his mind flashes to Dario.  JJ worries, knowing Gabi is out there with Chad; he tells Lani she always gets herself in trouble when she’s with him.  Eli isn’t happy about it either.

When Deimos arrives, Xander tells him that Eric showed up to save the day; in the room, Eric tells Nicole she has to work with him to get out of there.  He finds a weapon; a pencil.  He sharpens it; Nicole worries this isn’t going to work.  Xander asks Deimos how he knows he isn’t going to back out on their deal and asks for assurances, reminding him that he is family; he gives Deimos a list of demands.  He tells Deimos if he doesn’t get everything on the list, he’ll tell everyone they are working together.   Eric tells Nicole his plan; they get ready.  Nicole screams for help as Eric pretends to be unconscious; she says he’s not breathing.  The guard leans over him to check for himself and Eric jumps up and fights him for his gun; the man blows a whistle and Eric slams him in the door, knocking him out.  Nicole runs out the back door.  Chad and Gabi talk; he assures her that he doesn’t blame her for Abby’s leaving him.  She asks if she can “lay low” with him while the guys go after Deimos; Chad pays the bill and they head off to tour the town.  Deimos gets angry when he is told that the amulet has been sold to Chad, but he ‘lets it go’ and orders his assistant to get the items from Xander’s list.
