As John picks up
Marlena’s clothes off the floor, he wonders what is going on; he tries to call
her. Hattie looks at Marlena’s phone
and says it’s too bad for him because he is going to get dumped; she says
she’ll be gentle though, and starts to answer the phone. Angelika grabs it out of her hands and tells
her not to even think about it. She
says she needs some details and asks Hattie what happened; Hattie says she had
to think a little outside the box.
Angelika asks Hattie where Marlena is now; Marlena wakes up, trapped
inside of something. She starts feeling
around, banging on the lid; Angelika is appalled to hear she put her in her
trunk, and then went to get her nails done.
She starts fantasizing about the future and Angelika brings her back to
reality, telling her to start focusing on their goal. She gives her some forms
and tells her to take her “cargo” and “make a little deposit outside of
town.” She asks if she can handle that;
Hattie just shakes her head, but doesn’t look so sure. John, out of desperation, and having checked
everywhere else, goes to see Kate. She
tells him maybe Marlena got tired of waiting for him, since he was always
leaving her; he gets frustrated with her responses and leaves.
“Marlena” brings a patient into a mental hospital outside of town. The doctor says it looks serious; she tells them it is likely schizoid affective disorder. She gives the patient’s name as Hattie Adams; Marlena can barely hold her head up, as they wheel her into the office. The administrator notices the uncanny resemblance between them. “Marlena” says “Hattie” is obsessed with her, and may try to convince them that she is ‘her’ and suggests they just ignore her. She says she becomes belligerent and violent if she is confronted with the truth and says they may just want to keep her sedated; she signs “Hattie” in. As Marlena lays in an isolation room, wrapped in a restraint jacket, she calls out (quietly) to John to come help her; John is trying to call her again, desperately looking for her; he leaves a message asking where she is and telling her to call, adding, “I love you.”
Lucas admits to Adrian that he was a little concerned when he saw her hugging Justin; she tells him they were just consoling each other because of their son’s arrest. Lucas and Adrian kiss; Justin watches in the background. He coughs, to let them know he is there; he asks about Sonny. Adrian says they are waiting for them to bring him out; Lani tells them all about Abigail being in an accident. Lucas says he is going to head to the hospital and says to tell Sonny he loves him; Adrian says she will. She gives Sonny a picture Arianna drew for him; a self-portrait. He says he misses her, but she was scared to come and visit him. Sonny tells them Paul isn’t giving up on him; Adrian and Justin say neither are they. The officer comes in to get Sonny; Adriana says, “already?” Justin holds her hands as they take their son away. Adrian worries, what if they don’t find any proof to save him? Justin asks if she means what she said ,when she told their son he is the best lawyer in town; she says yes. He tells her to trust him then; she asks him to wait while she goes to call Lucas and check on Abigail. Angelika says, “well, hello there.” Justin is not happy to see her; she tells him she is moving back to Salem. Justin questions why she would want to move back there; she says she has plans, business plans which she isn’t going to abandon. He brings up an associate of hers he has heard tell of; she questions how he’s heard this, but then confesses that all she wants is a chance to start fresh, claiming she comes in peace. He tells her that’s not her style, as he pushes her hand away; she says we will just have to see about that.
JJ finds his mother standing in Abigail’s room; she says she’s just looking at all she’s been through. She says she is so weak; Kayla said they barely got her stable enough for surgery. Jennifer breaks down crying; JJ hugs her. Chad tells Gabi he feels bad; Abigail could die now because she saved his life. Gabi admits to Chad that Abigail’s marriage to Dario was all an arrangement; he wonders why then she would have gone into Witness Protection with him. Kate tells Andre that something happened to Abigail; Andre goes to the hospital and tells Chad they need to talk. He refuses to speak in front of Gabi; Lani shows up and hugs JJ. He tells Lani he doesn’t understand why Abigail would agree to go with Dario because she had told him she would never leave her son, or Chad, again, when she first came back to town. Chad tells Andre he doesn’t want to talk about business; Andre says its about Dario Hernandez. He asks if Chad ever wondered why Abby would go with Dario and leave her whole family behind; he tells Chad about the photo of him standing over Deimos’ body wiping off the knife. He explains that Dario was blackmailing Abby into going with him into Witness Protection. Chad denies the allegation, saying he would remember if he killed the man; Andre says he saw the photo – it appears, he says, that Chad is the one who murdered Deimos Kariakis. Chad is speechless. Andre tells Chad Abigail came to him, desperate to protect him; the plan was for her to stall Dario while they tried to delete that photo… “now she is fighting for her life,” Chad says.
Chad realizes he has to call the police and set Sonny free; Andre says there is no proof. Chad mentions the picture; Andre tells him it is gone; deleted, he says, from Dario’s phone, the Internet, everywhere, thanks to Theo. Chad is pissed that they got Theo involved; Andre says they needed the best. Lucas gets to the hospital, and tells Jen everything is going to be okay; he tells her he is there for her and says she can squeeze his hand as tightly as she needs to. He offers to go pick up some things for her so she can stay the night with Abigail. JJ relates a story to Lani from his past with Abby; he cries and tells her he can’t lose her again. Lani tells him his sister has this; she says she has to get back to work and kisses him goodbye. Gabi goes over to Jen and JJ; Jen asks where Chad is… Gabi says he is with Andre discussing something – she’s sure it’s nothing. Chad cries; he says it’s his fault Abigail is in there fighting for her life. Andre comments she did this because she still loves him, and questions Chad, that he still loves her too. Before Chad can answer, Gabi appears in the doorway; she says Abby is out of surgery.
