Summer feels like she messed
things up with Maggie; Brady is feeling some anxiety, but he doesn’t know
why. Deimos invites Kate over to
Victor’s house, which he says is now his; Victor sits by Maggie’s side, as he
remembers Deimos blackmailing him. The
doctor tells Victor that all traces of the poison and the antidote are gone;
it’s time to prepare for surgery to try to repair Maggie’s back. Kate tells Deimos she wants to know what he
did to get Victor to sign everything over to him, or she’s walking out the
door. Steve and Kayla talk on what
might be his last night as a free man; he’s making chili and cornbread, and
drinking beer. Deimos tells Kate that
he poisoned Maggie; simply a means to an end.
Teresa brings Brady into the hospital; he is fine – but the doctor tells
him that Maggie is there. Brady tells
Teresa to call Summer.
Kate appears to
be rather turned on by Deimos’ blackmailing scheme (she somehow sees it as
vengeance for what Victor did to her all those years ago). Summer arrives at the hospital – Victor is
not happy to see her. Steve and Kayla
share a romantic dance; Kate and Deimos prepare to make love. Victor walks in the door; he tells Deimos
that Maggie may never walk again and he is going to make Deimos pay. With Victor absent, Summer talks to Maggie;
she begs her to be ok. Maggie opens her
eyes and asks what’s going on. Kayla
tells Steve she will always love him; he tells her that everything will be ok,
regardless of what happens in court tomorrow.
Victor pulls out a knife, threatening to kill Deimos, then grabs his
heart and stumbles to the couch.

Gabi goes to visit Eduardo and is told that he checked out
of the hospital against medical advice; he is in his motel room, packing. Rafe is hard at work; he looks at the
‘wanted’ flyer for Ben. Abby wakes up,
still in Chad’s arms on the couch – she gently moves his arm and gets up, hears
a knock at the door and opens it- it’s Ben.
Then she really wakes up to find Chad gone. Now, a knock at the door… Chad answers it; the security guard is
holding onto Chase – he was on the grounds, looking for Andre. Ciara comes into the police station and asks
her mother how he is free (she is not happy after bumping into him in the
square). Chad has Chase escorted off
the grounds.
Rafe’s mother requests a dinner with all three of her children; Gabi goes to Eduardo’s hotel room, where she talks him out of leaving town. Hope and Ciara decide to stay in a motel for the night so Ciara knows Chase can’t find her. Chad and Abby drink champagne in the garden and end up making love; she goes back in the house to get a blanket and sees Ben standing there. Maggie insists she is fine;
she just leaned over too far. She
doesn’t want to ruin Brady’s party. She
finds Teresa’s ring on the floor; secret’s out. Abby is certain she saw Ben – then she realizes she didn’t. Now she’s really scared; “it felt so real”
she said, “what’s happening?” Teresa
asks Victor if he isn’t going to welcome her to the family… she should know the
answer to that. Brady formally makes
the announcement and Teresa makes a somewhat sarcastic, then somewhat touching
speech and Maggie hugs her.
Abby tells Chad that she really thinks she’s losing her mind – JJ calls for a doctor. Physically, Abby is fine. The doctor says she had a panic attack; he’s giving her a low-dosage sedative to help through the night; he says it’s safe for the baby (supposedly Abby is nursing). She and Chad lay down on the couch. She wakes up and sneaks out, why, I don’t know – she runs into Bed in the garden, actually bumping into him… but he just stands there. She tells him she knows he’s not really there and runs back into the house; snuggling up with Chad on the couch again, she sees Ben standing outside the glass door again.
After the party, everyone goes home; Teresa and Brady cuddle up on the floor in front of a fire and have a loving, intimate conversation (which I still have trouble buying), Philip tells Belle he loves her and Victor tells Maggie to go lay down while he makes her a cup of tea. When Maggie gets to the top step, she gets dizzy again; she tumbles down the stairs, falling all the way to the floor, she’s not moving. Victor goes to her; she tells him she is having trouble breathing and she can’t feel her legs… he is going to call for help. Deimos shows up, as if on cue – not concerned about Maggie at all; tells Victor this is his doing. Says the pills Maggie has been taking are poison; he switched her medication – she is slowly dying… but he has the antidote. He demands that Victor sign over everything he owns; he signs a paper Deimos hands him and Deimos injects Maggie with something.
Belle and Philip have an honest conversation; she tells him she is not going to tell him she loves him and she doesn’t think he really loves her – he tells her he will take her anyway he can have her. Victor has Maggie taken to the hospital where the doctor tells him the poison has been neutralized; the bad news, however, is that Maggie has broken her back. She is paralyzed.

So, Ben really does appear to have
Thomas in his arms… he’s sleeping. Abby
screams for Chad, but he’s looking through other parts of the mansion and can’t
hear her. She begs Ben to give Thomas
to her. Kate breaks the news to John
about Brady and Teresa; he decides he can learn to accept Teresa if Brady
really loves her. Maggie tells Nicole
that she should come to the party for the announcement. Teresa is freaking out now because she lost
her engagement ring. Still holding the
baby in his arms, Ben tells Abby he misses his family – why doesn’t she tell
him Thomas isn’t his? Nicole and Dario
come to visit Maggie; Victor is less than happy about it. Maggie admits to Victor that she had a dizzy
spell. Ok, so as Ben carries on about
what his son’s name is, Abby breaks and tells him it is not his son. Now what will his reaction be? Maggie begs Victor to give Summer a chance
to prove she’s not after anything. As
Ben starts to walk away with Thomas, Abby begins to scream; Chad enters the
room, along with JJ, and they ask her what she is screaming about. She insists Ben is standing there, but they
don’t see him? Thomas is in his stroller. Abby must be losing her mind. During the engagement party, Maggie faints
and falls to the ground.
