02-24-2017 (Friday) The Funeral

Brady tries to talk to Chloe at a table in the pub; she is short and cold with him.  He becomes frustrated and tells her that Nicole has dumped Deimos; he says she is done with him, for good, so there is no reason to keep her daughter from her now.  Chloe says Nicole could get back together with him anytime; she has done it before.  He stresses again that Holly is Nicole’s daughter; he begs her not to go back to Chicago.  She tells him she’s not; she is moving to New York, instead.  Maggie says goodbye to Holly; Brady calls to talk to Nicole.

Abby come back into Chad’s hospital room and lays down on the bed with him, as he is sleeping; he wakes, and says what a nice surprise.  They talk about what got them into this mess; she promises not to do any more private investigating, and they agree not to take each other for granted ever again.

Eli introduces himself, just as Valerie’s son; he tells Julie he is sorry for her loss and asks if he can stay.  She says of course and goes back in the chapel. Eli looks at his mother and says, “she seems like a nice person to me.”  They go in and sit down.  Julie speaks first; she says David inherited all her worst traits, being brash, opinionated, etc., and admits that they had a hard time getting along with each other, though they loved each other.  She admits regretting not being close these past few years, calls their fights stupid, and then mentions her grandson, Scotty; Eli gets uncomfortable.  Valerie looks at him apologetically.

After the funeral, they talk, and Valerie explains to her son the relationship she had with David; she says she didn’t know she was pregnant until he was gone.  He says it must have been awful for her; she tells him, no… he was the best thing that ever happened to her.  JJ asks Loni out on a date; she agrees, to JUST a date.  She realizes she has lost her cell phone and goes back to the church to look for it.  Eli is there, talking to his father’s coffin.  Abe finds Valerie crying in the park; she tells him she doesn’t think her son is ever going to forgive her.  He sits down by her and hugs her as she sobs.
