Justin makes his representation of
Detective Brady known; the Mayor and his assistant request a conference with
Roman and Rafe. Chad asks Andre if it’s
true; Andre tells him it is. Chad goes
in to talk to Hope; he asks if this is some kind of game or trick of Andre’s –
she says it’s not. She tells Chad she
did it; he is stunned. He asks her what
happened; she tells him she went to see Steffano about what happened to Bo, how
he laughed at her, he goaded her… she says she couldn’t think straight. Chad asks if he suffered; she tells him, he
laughed, which doesn’t seem to surprise Chad.
He asks Hope if that gave her the right to play God. He asks, what about the man who is in prison
right now, serving time for her crime (she has no answers). Chad is obviously upset; he tells Hope she
is pathetic. He says he would
understand if she’d have caught his father committing a crime; he talks about
how he was proud his son was part of a family as good as the Martin
family. Hope apologizes, and says she
cares about him. He grabs her hand and
says he knows; he also says, he knows his father did terrible things to her
over the years, but that doesn’t make what she did okay. She says she knows.
Roman confronts Chad coming out of the room;
he tells Justin it is going to be hard to get Hope to defend herself. Justin says that will be his job; he goes in
to talk to Hope. He tells her that he
believes she is suffering from PTSD, which is a great defense; she says that
she is going to confess, without a fight.
She says she made a deal with Andre, to avoid exposing who she was
talking to on the tape; she reveals to him that Rafe and Roman were
co-conspirators after-the-fact (and could go to prison right beside her).
Rafe talks to Chad in the square, and seems
to get through to him when he points out what Abigail did to Ben because of
what Ben did to her; he says sometimes people just get pushed past a point, and
they snap. Rafe tries to talk Hope into
letting him confess to the cover-up; she refuses. He agrees to stand beside her through this, no matter what. Hope is arrested.
Steve comes into the police station to ask for assistance; Andre
offers his. He tells Steve that Roman
is busy right now because of Hope’s confession about killing his father. He makes some calls and tells Steve that his
contacts (who he says are very reliable) tell him that Kayla and Marlena are
being held in warehouse 67, next to some of the Kariakis holdings; Steve is
suspicious but heads out. Andre says if
Steve doesn’t get there in time, it’s his own fault.
At home, Chad asks Andre if he didn’t think that something like
this was something he should have been told; Andre reminds him that he wasn’t
very sympathetic when he brought it up the first time. Still at the festival, Paul and his date
decide to go to ‘The Spot’ – his date suggests texting Sonny to see if he wants
to go, since they are all friends. When
Sonny receives the text, he recalls Paul telling him he agreed that they should
just be friends; he seems remorseful.
Steve calls Paul and asks him if he could find out if there has been any
activity near that warehouse on the docks; Paul decides to go there
instead. His date offers to go with
him.
Orpheus pours gasoline on the
wooden boxes; Kayla screams. He tells
the ladies he is going to put them out of their misery; he opens his lighter
and it flames. Paul shows up at Sonnys
and asks if he can call his guys at Kariakis Enterprises to find out if they
have seen anything strange going on at warehouse 67. Laslo comes in to tell Orpheus there are kids playing out on the
dock, with fireworks; Orpheus decides to go shoo them away and check out their
escape route. Sonny gets confirmation
of the coffins being delivered to warehouse 67, and says Titan hasn’t used that
warehouse in years. Paul calls his dad;
John and Steve head that way. Inside
the coffins, Kayla is panicing and Marlena has passed out. Orpheus lights them on fire. Steve gets to the warehouse and sees the flames; Orpheus is
still standing there admiring his handiwork.
John rushes to get the women out of the burning coffins, while Steve
struggles with Orpheus over his gun.
Orpheus is shot, begins laughing and slumps as he slides down the wall,
falling to the floor. Kayla comes to,
in shock, on the ambulance cot; Steve tells her Marlena is fine. The medic tells Steve and Kayla that they
have not had a pulse in half an hour; Orpheus has bled out… he is really dead.
