Abigail starts to walk
toward Chad, but sees Gabi approach him; he tells her he needs to talk to her
and sits her down at a table. Abigail
runs off. Andre follows her; she says
she saw his face when he saw Gabi and he is falling in love with her. She says she has known him for years, and
she knows that look. There is no chance
now, she says. Andre tells her if Chad
is attracted to Gabi it’s only because he thinks she is dead; she is the love
of his life. And even if it doesn’t
work out with Chad, he asks, “doesn’t your son have a right to grow up with his
mother?” He tells her she needs to
reclaim her life.
Gabi tells Chad she
thinks she is going to give JJ another chance.
She says he got to her at the station after she overheard him talking to
Rafe; besides, its best they just stay friends she says. She asks him to assure her that they are
still friends; Chad says sure they are, but if JJ hurts her again, he says, JJ
will have to deal with him. He asks if
she is going to keep working for him; she says she would like to, now that
everything is cleared up. She thanks
him for being understanding and gives him a half-hearted shoulder hug. He is frustrated as she walks away, you can
tell.
Paul talks to Steve about Eduardo
Hernandez; says he didn’t want to investigate him by himself and doesn’t want
his dad to know because they go way back.
He thinks it’s interesting that he’s not telling Diemos Kariakis what he's shipping; Steve says it’s definitely a red flag… or proof that
he’s on the up and up, Paul says. Paul brings
Sonny supplies for the night, since he may be there all night long; he
brought snacks and a blanket. Paul tells Sonny that he thinks what he’s
doing is great; weird, but great he says.
He says he has to get back to work, just wanted to let him know he was
thinking of him. He and Steve go to the
docks, Steve distracts some guy with a homeless guy act, while Paul steals of
box off a stack of boxes. They
congratulate each other as they figure out how to open the box; Steve just
happens to have a crowbar. It’s just a
designer handbag knockoff; Paul detects the imperfections. Steve wonders why they would be smuggling in
cheap fake purses, unless they were selling them for the designer brand price
and claiming they are real…
Theo tells his dad that Valerie was lying to
someone on the phone. She admits, she
was; she says it was her supervisor.
She lied because she cancelled a speaking engagement to stay there and
keep an eye on Abe, and didn’t want her boss to know. She apologizes. Abe chews
Theo out for being suspicious and tells him he better start treating her nicer
from now on. Abe asks Valerie about her
life in D.C.; she says she works a lot of hours but it is very rewarding. She asks him how he got to be Mayor; he says
he was Police Commissioner, and the job came up so he just went for it. He apologizes for Theo’s behavior earlier;
she says he was just sticking up for his dad.
She tells him she has a son; he asks about the dad. Has never really been in the picture, she
says.
Ciara and Claire talk; they are
concerned about Theo. They find him in
the waiting room; Clair agrees with Theo that something fishy is up with that
doctor; she’s hiding something, Claire says.
Ciara tells Theo that he should just trust his dad; he’s smart, she
says. Claire insists they need to go
online and try to find as much dirt as they can on Valerie. Claire’s dad shows up; Ciara asks Shaun if
he has seen her mother. He says no but
he is going to. Shaun asks to talk to
Claire alone, and tells her to stay out of Theo’s business from now on. Ciara tells Theo that he should back off the
doctor; she says this is all just fun and games to Claire, but he could really
mess things up with his dad. Theo
insists he’s not letting Claire talk him into anything; he can make up his own
mind.
Chad shows up with a sandwich and
offers to share it with Sonny; he asks why he’s sitting outside of the hotel
door. Sonny tells him; then he asks
what Chad’s problem is. He tells him
about Gabi and that she is going back to JJ.
He says he has to sit back and support them being together; he asks
about he and Paul. He tells him he just
wants to be friends; Chad says they are in the same boat. Andre gives Abigail an untraceable phone and
tells her to call him if she needs anything; he asks if she is staying in
Salem. For now, she says, for her
mother’s sake, she has to. She sneaks
back into the house, and notices a present wrapped on the table, to Thomas,
from her mother; she says to herself, “maybe I do need to be with Thomas.”
I started this blog November 2015 because of one particular episode that I was so astonished by, I could scarcely believe that it had been written that way (see Featured Post below). I wanted to send a MESSAGE TO THE WRITERS of Days that they need to shape up, or this soap might very well go the way of my old favorites All My Children and One Life to Live. Help me help this show by reading my blog, commenting - offer your opinion to the writers - and let's make Days better than it's ever been!
11-22-2016 (Tuesday)
Victor comes to the square
to find Justin; he asks how the wedding went.
Just says there was a bit of a hitch in the ceremony, because of
him. Victor says good for him; he asks
what Adrian said. Justin remarks that
he’s sitting there talking to him, so…not so good. Ann sits at a table in the bar; she sees Lucas leaning up against
the counter. She tells him to come have
a drink with her; she’s been drinking alone since Teresa left. She says drinks are on her; he says “you
have no idea how bad I need one.” He
then shows her his chip, stating 7 years, 1 month and 28 days. She takes the Mai Tai she got for him and
slurps it down; she asks how someone could be so stupid as to leave him at the
altar.
Sonny takes his mother home; she stresses over the situation. She says this is so typical, Justin always makes things about him. She asks how he could possibly think that was a good idea; Sonny admits that he encouraged him to do it. Not that he wanted him to burst in and stop the wedding; he says he just told him that he needed to let her know his true feelings. Adrian starts crying over how Lucas must feel because she couldn’t take those last steps down the isle; she says she loves them both and can’t make a decision. He decides to help her; he calls both Justin and Lucas to come to the room. Adrian asks what’s going on; Sonny says she didn’t want this to go on and on… she needs to make a decision. He says no one leaves until she’s decided; he walks out and closes the door. They agree that they will each have a turn to plead their case to Adrian; the men play ‘rock, paper, scissors’ to decide who speaks first. Lucas wins and chooses to go last. Justin tells her how well he knows her, etc. Lucas tells her that’s a hard speech to follow, but he tells her he went to the pub and stared at a bottle of liquor for a long time… and he thought about her and Justin. Their love, he says, is like an addiction; exciting at first, but he’ll just hurt you again. He says Justin is her past; he is her future. Still she has a hard time deciding. Dumb.
JJ tells Rafe that he and Gabi are not together anymore; Chad and Gabi are kissing passionately. They stop, momentarily. Chad says this is exactly what he was trying to avoid; Gabi asks why they are trying to avoid it. He shakes his head, saying “I don’t know.” They start kissing again. Rafe asks JJ why they broke up; he tells him and asks if he is going to hit him. He says no. The phone rings; Chad and Gabi manage to pull themselves apart. She checks her text; it’s the babysitter… they suddenly decide again that this feels wrong. They are both on the rebound; they can’t bring their kids into a relationship like that, they say. It would be worse if they get any closer than they are already and then it didn’t work out. They decide to slow things down for now. She asks if that means days or weeks, or what… he says he doesn’t know. He tells her she needs to talk to JJ because avoiding him won’t make things any better; she asks if he thinks she should get back with JJ. He wants to kiss her again and she knows it. She says she’ll see him later; Chad says goodbye, and sits down, leaning back in exhaustion. JJ tells Rafe he is going to do everything he can to win Gabi back; as he tells Rafe he is going to be a better man and hopes one day Gabi can forgive him, she walks in. She lets him know she will never be able to forgive him; still, he tries again, asking her if she can’t give him another chance. He may have talked her into it this time.
Jennifer tries to talk Abby into going to tell Chad that she is alive; she says she left so that Chad could be happy, and she asks what if Gabi makes him happy? A knock on a door; Abby hides… it’s Andre. He says it’s time the world knows the truth. He says he is ready to make a statement about the news of Hope’s sentencing for his father’s death; he notes that Jennifer is rather desperate to get him out of her house. She agrees to take his statement; he wanders in to the living room and asks if she has company. She says just her and JJ; he asks for a drink of water. He takes the fork laying on the coffee table and tells her nevermind about the water; he has to go. Abby decides to sneak out; she runs into Andre and asks when she was going to share her plans with the man who helped her fake her death. He asks her if she doesn’t think it’s time to show herself to her husband and let him know she’s alive. She says she can’t do that, because of Gabi. Aiden talks her into it; she decides it’s time to show herself to Chad. As they walk through the square, Abigail sees Chad with Thomas in the stroller; she starts to turn away, but Andre grabs her and says it is fate… it’s time he says.

11-21-2016 (Monday)
Jennifer still can’t believe
Abigail is really there; she assures her JJ won’t be back until later
tonight. For whatever reason, Abigail
still doesn’t want her mom to tell anyone else that she’s alive; she apologizes
for making her miss the wedding. She
tries to explain that she never intended to come back, and wouldn’t have if she
hadn’t heard that JJ had been shot; Jennifer asks how she heard about that. Abby gets nervous and says she just found
out, online somehow; she walks over to the window, obviously hiding
something. She tells her she would love
to have her old life back, but… she’ll have to face everything she’s done (the
fire at Shady Hills, the fake ID, etc.).
Jennifer pleads with her, saying everyone would be so happy. Chad would be ecstatic to know she was
alive; Abby says Chad has moved on, with Gabi now. She tells her mother that she saw them together, in the square
and he bought her flowers and they were totally into each other; her mom swears
she is wrong, she says they just work together. Abby says she saw what she saw.
Jennifer tells Abby that Chad needs her and her baby needs his
mother.
Andre tries to discuss business with Chad, but his mind is somewhere else; he tells Andre he thinks he may have feelings for Gabi, but she just broke up with JJ and he doesn’t want to take advantage of her vulnerability…plus he’s still mourning. Andre agrees that Abigail’s body is still not cold, which irritates Chad, and he reminds him that he and Gabi didn’t used to get along. He says that was a long time ago; Andre says he needs to keep his mind on rebuilding their business. Chad says Gabi is part of that business; Andre says maybe she shouldn’t be. Gabi talks to Dario; she tells him that she has actually gotten closer to Chad… he asks her if that’s what she wants. She say she doesn’t know; he is her boss. She says she doesn’t know what to do. Dario tells her not to get back with JJ and not to get involved with Chad either; he says it would mean making a choice between her family and Chad.
Gabi comes over to tell Chad that she wants to quit, and he tells her he has to let her go. They both get upset; Chad asks why she was going to quit…she asks why he would fire her. They step closer and say this is getting weird; he says that’s why he was going go fire her, because it’s getting weird. They both smile. They sit down and discuss the situation, admitting that they do have feelings for each other, but aren’t ready to get into another relationship yet, ultimately agreeing that they probably shouldn’t be working together anymore. Blanca meets with Dario for a drink; she says she is seriously thinking about throwing it in his face. She says this will be their goodbye drink; she is moving to Chicago, she tells him – she has been offered a job and she will not be in a relationship with a liar. She tells him she is very attracted to him, and she knows herself well enough to know she might give in if she stays; he grabs her head and kisses her. She pulls away, tells him he’s good, but she says no; she asks him to tell someone goodbye for her and leaves.
Joey tells his parents that he is going to be a father; he is obviously upset, and explains that he was getting ready to break up with her, he didn’t want to be with her anymore. They find it convenient that she drops this news just as he’s ending things. They take him to get dinner; Jade calls. Joey says he doesn’t want to talk to her; Steve says he has to so he does. She wants him to bring her some ice cream; he tells his parents he guesses he has to drop out of school and get a job.
Everyone is stunned that Justin has interrupted the wedding; Sonny is smiling. He asks Adrian just not to get married tonight; he says it just hit him that he can’t let her go through with this without telling her that he is still in love with her. She tells him this is ridiculous, but agrees to give him a moment to talk, adding this is absolutely absurd because what could make her change her mind? He tells her he loves her, always has, and always will – he says he believes she feels the same way – he knew from the first time he saw her she was the only one for him. He says he knows he screwed up and asks her to give him one last chance to fix things. She is shaking her head no, ever so slightly. Lucas chimes in and tells Justin he doesn’t have a chance; reminding him that they’ve been divorced 3 or 4 times, that he wasn’t there during her cancer scare or when his son was stabbed (while he was with his ever-loving Elsa). Lucas says they laugh and joke and spend all night talking; he says Adrian told him she could never be herself with Justin and he tells him to get lost, saying they are done with him. He turns to Adrian and asks if she is ready to get the wedding going again; surprisingly, she freezes. She can’t tell him yes; she just stands there as everyone else starts yelling at each other. She screams; she can’t think. She tells Justin he is right; she still loves him, but she loves Lucas too. Kate tells her this isn’t a two for one sale; she needs to make up her mind. Adrian throws her bouquet down and runs out of the chapel. Justin and Lucas get in a fight; Lucas punches Justin and Justin leaves.
Kate tells Lucas she told him Adrian wasn’t good enough for him; he gets mad at her, says yeah she was right again, and tells her and Philip to just go. Adrian sits on a park bench, sobbing; Sonny sits down by her and puts his arm around her. Justin wanders through the square and Lucas sit on a bench across the way, waiting for Adrian to make her decision. Chad offers to give Gabi severance pay; she says she doesn’t want charity. They end up fighting, screaming at each other, finally asking each other what they want; they kiss.

11-18-2016 (Friday) TERESA SAYS GOODBYE
Lucas is on the phone; he
says it’s okay, he understands… Kate overhears and asks if everything is
alright. She assumes there is trouble
in paradise; Lucas assures her that he and Adrian are fine. Jennifer, he says, isn’t going to make it to
the wedding; an emergency of some kind (JJ either, because he’s working); Kate
points out that there aren’t going to be many family members there. Maybe they should cancel the wedding, she
suggests; Lucas says no way. She starts
making fun of Adrian’s family, specifically Steve, but Lucas isn’t phased – he
reminds her that he loves Adrian.
Kayla tells Adrian that Jen and JJ aren’t going to make it to the wedding; Steve tells her his mom is too tired from her last round of chemo, so she won’t be there either. Adrian says it will be an intimate ceremony; she ten ponders if she and Lucas should just elope, mentioning the fact that the “mother-in-law-from-hell” is going to be there, despite originally saying she would never come to their wedding. Adrian laughs nervously, as she asks Kayla to assure her that this wedding isn’t jinxed. She tells Adrian she looks beautiful and everything will be great. Joey is not there yet. In the park, Joey tells Jade that he doesn’t believe she is pregnant; she swears she is, says her parents kicked her out because of it and tells him he better figure out how to support her and this baby because they come as a package deal. Joey gets up and walks away; she screams at him not to walk out on her. She’s kinda scary.
Justin admits to Sonny that he was a bastard to his mother; he says she deserves to be happy and have someone who treats her right. Sonny thinks Lucas isn’t right for her; he wants his father to stop the wedding. Justin tells him there is nothing he can do; sonny reminds him that he always used to tell him (as a kid) that there is always something you can do. He walks away; Justin recalls many years ago, when he proposed to Adrian. Joey gets to the church just as the music starts; he tells his dad that Jade claims to be pregnant with his baby. As Adrian starts to walk down the aisle, Justin runs in the door and tells her she can’t do this.
Teresa talks with her dad at their diner; her mom comes in the door with Tate. She says she told Chad she wanted to spend some time with her grandson; Teresa tells the baby how much she loves him, but never even picks him up out of the stroller, then within minutes, tells her mom she better take him back so Brady doesn’t worry. She says she has to get going and hugs her dad goodbye. She shows up at the Kariakis mansion, where she finds Victor right inside the door; she asks if Brady is there. He says no. They talk; Victor wishes her the best in putting Mateo behind bars and tells her that he is proud of her and he wants her to come back to them. They actually hug; sweet. Teresa is growing on me, I guess.
Philip finds Brady on the docks and begins to berate him for ‘cozying up to Deimos’ but Brady cuts him off, telling him that he could give a shit about work right now. He explains to Philip what he has been dealing with lately; Philip is shocked… he says they seemed so happy, and it seems so weird. Brady agrees that it feels like there is something he is not seeing. Now, up in her room, packing, Teresa holds Tate (I’m wondering why she made her mom rush him back home when she was obviously hopeful that Brady wasn’t even there). She begins to cry, telling him that she hopes to be able to come back to him someday; when she comes downstairs with her bags, Brady is there. He tells her that he knows there is something she’s not telling him; he demands to know what it is. She denies hiding anything from him. She turns around to cry quietly, then turns back to tell him she’s not sure she ever did really love him… he doesn’t believe her, and asks her to stay, still. She takes off her ring and gives it back to him; he says he can’t believe that she would leave Tate. She tells him that she has never really bonded with him anyway, since his crazy ex-girlfriend ripped him out of her; she runs out the door and starts sobbing as she leaves.
She meets Mateo in the square; he father is there, and makes a call when they leave. He tells someone they are on the move. Brady breaks the decanter and glasses as he clears the tabletop in one swipe of his arm and cries out in anger; Victor comes in the room and hugs him.

11-17-2016 (Thursday) ABIGAIL RETURNS!
Teresa tells Brady not to
hurt this man, Guiermo; she tells the man Brady is her “friend” and Brady looks
shocked. He reminds her he is her
husband, to which she replies, “not for real… it’s just pretend.” Like a game, she says; Brady ushers Guiermo
out of the room and tells Teresa he is taking her home. She continues trying to push Brady away and
tells him that she needs to get out of this lame town; she says she’s going to
go to Vegas or Europe, adding she’s open to suggestions. Brady suggests she go to Hell and walks out
of the hotel room.
Teresa tells her parents how hard it was to put on that act for Brady, and how angry he was; her mom assures her she will find a way to make it right, get the evidence against Mateo and come back to her family. Teresa fears there may be nothing left to come back to. Teresa’s father explains how hard the sacrifices he made while working for the ISA were, saying he tried at first to completely shut her mother out of her life, which didn’t work; he learned to hold on by playing the part and keeping faith that someday he could come home to the people he loved.
Nicole talks to Philip about Chloe; she tells him she and Deimos went to find her and that she took another DNA test. She asks Philip to please tell her who’s baby Chloe is carrying; Deimos comes in the room and pisses Philip off and he leaves the room. Later Philip overhears Nicole and Deimos talking about Brady being more qualified than Philip to run Titan; he calls Chloe and tells her that he agrees with her now… as long as Nicole is with Deimos, she cannot be trusted. Nicole tells Deimos she has to leave town to meet some designers; they make love… he tells her he loves her, and she apologizes for not being able to say those words to him. He claims to understand.

Gabi tells Dario that she and JJ broke up because he
cheated on her; Dario is pissed. He
says he is going to have to kill him now; Gabi gets upset and tells him he
can’t handle things that way; he has be taught a lesson, he says. After just having run into Guiermo in the
square, Blanca appears around the corner and overhears this conversation. When Gabi leaves, she tells Dario she knows
too many people like him and she can’t be hanging around him anymore.
JJ tells Chad about his infidelity; JJ says
he understands he never meant to hurt Gabi… JJ asks him to talk to Gabi for
him, to ask her to give him a second chance.
Chad says he can’t do that; he tells JJ that this is something he has to
do for himself. Gabi shows up for work
and Chad tells JJ he needs to go. He
tells Gabbi that he knows JJ loves her; she asks how she can ever see him and
not see that he hurt her… Chad hugs her.
He tells her he doesn’t understand why he would do that to her, but
assures her that she has a lot going for her and proceeds to compliment her, extensively,
calling her an unstoppable force; things get pretty intimate and Gabi gets
nervous and says, suddenly, she has to go.
Jennifer
writes the story of Hope’s hearing for the newspaper; Abby peeks through the
window. Jennifer thinks she hears
something; when she opens the door, Abigail is standing there. Jennifer faints; Abby wakes her up and
assures her she is real and not a ghost; Jennifer can’t believe it. She asks how; Abby tells her she was so
messed up when she left, thinking about her grandma locked in her head. She didn’t want her family to have to take
care of her like that; she had to make them think she was gone. Jennifer asks if that means she is coming
back to Chad; she doesn’t answer. Abby
explains that she just thought she might hurt Chad and Thomas and all she could
think was that she had to get away, but when she heard about the prison break
and all those men terrorizing Salem, and then JJ getting shot, she said she
knew she had to come back.
When JJ gets
home, Abby tells her mom she doesn’t want him to see her yet; she hides. When JJ asks if she’s alright, Jennifer
claims just to be upset about Hope’s situation. She tells JJ Gabi may be crushed, but she loves him; he told her
the truth and that is something to build on, she says. He notices the extra cup of tea of the
coffee table; Jen pretends she was being absent-minded and offers the other cup
to him… he notices that he is made the way Abby liked it.
11-16-2016 (Wednesday)
The hearing continues;
Justin argues, in her mind, Hope was protecting herself and her family from a
man who presented an imminent threat.
He makes a heart-tugging plea, and asks the court if they were in her
position, what would they do? He
discusses the circumstances that lead up to Hope’s appearance at the mansion
that night; he says there are things the court must take into consideration
before a fair sentencing can be made.
He presents a file on Steffano DeMira; 13 depositions of witnesses
attesting to the time Steffano held Hope prisoner, tricking everyone in Salem
into thinking she was dead, and accounts of officers of the law and court being
bribed by Steffano to have charges dropped, or disappear altogether.
The prosecuting attorney objects to anything in that file being used, but the judge says she will give all of the information careful consideration before making her decision. Justin stresses the need for the court to recognize “reasonable belief” as a result of Hope’s prior mental condition, which was verified by doctors to be a factor resulting from the past threats of Steffano DeMira; he says her actions, that night, were matters of pure instinct and self-preservation, not premeditation.
He calls Hope Brady to the stand. Hope tells the judge that she remembers going to the DeMira mansion that night, but she doesn’t remember pulling the trigger; still, she knows she did, and she is willing to face whatever punishment she has to. Andre testifies next and tries shaming the court into sentencing harshly; Chad then gets on the stand. He says his father is not on trial today, and points out that Hope isn’t either, because she already confessed to shooting his dad. He talks about his son, and how his love makes him feel; imagining that he could have reached his father someday, but says Hope robbed him of that chance…says he was unarmed, and frail and no visible threat (other than the memory of what he had done in the past).
He then tells Hope that she is his family too, but he can’t sit back and watch silently as she gets away with what she’s done; he asks for an appropriate punishment, leaving it in the court’s hands. The judge adjourns to deliberate. It doesn’t take long for her to come back with a ruling; she agrees there was no pre-meditation and charges her with second-degree murder, sentencing her to twenty-five years in prison with no possibility of parole. An emotional goodbye ensues. He friends and family say they have to fight this; it can’t end this way.
Teresa packs to leave the hospital; her dad comes to get her. He hugs her, saying he couldn’t bare to lose his sweet little girl; she apologizes, saying Brady’s love is just stronger than she ever could have imagined. She tells her dad that she now knows what she has to do. Brady is apparently oblivious to her overdose… he is on the phone, looking for her. Nicole comes in and asks Brady if he is okay; he says no, because he has realized that he doesn’t even know Teresa at all. Teresa tells her dad she’ll have to thank Kayla for checking her in under a different name so Brady hasn’t found her – her dad tells her that she needs to thank Andre because he’s the one who found her and brought her in. Teresa says she set all this in motion a long time ago and she has to pay up; old sins cast long shadows, she says. Her dad hugs her as she dreads having to break things off with Brady and leave her son.
Brady tells Nicole he just can’t believe that she would be doing this, he can’t believe almost any of it; Tate wakes up and Nicole asks if she can get him. As she holds him, Brady reminisces about how Teresa used to hold him like that, and dote on him, adding that it all changed a couple of weeks ago – she’s been avoiding him lately. One minute she’s a loving mother and the next she’s full of resentment and anger; he wants to know what triggered it. Nicole offers (or rather begs) to watch the baby, while Brady goes out to look for Teresa; Teresa is now on the phone with Mateo, standing in the park with her dad… Mateo has a suggestion of something that would make Brady hate her, and not want her back. It does not reveal to us what this suggestion is.
Teresa is home now it appears, leaving pictures of her family and a note with a motel name and room number where she will be meeting someone. I guess the idea is to make Brady think she’s screwing around on him. Brady comes home and finds the note; he goes to the hotel, where he finds Teresa on the bed, in a nighty, cutting up lines of coke with a credit card… she smiles at him. Brady grabs the man when he plops down on the bed next to her and slams him up against a wall.

11-15-2016 (Tuesday)
Eduardo courts Kate, in his
own special way… he gives her a rose and says they should be out eating and
drinking; she says she has work to do. Yet, he talks her into it. Blanca goes
out on a daytime date with Dario; they kiss, and then she tells him that she
wonders if they are going to fast. She
appreciates him standing up to Guiermo, but she wants to take things kind of
slow.
Dario lets it slip that he and his dad have a new business venture, then claims its just an expansion of the club as he sees Eduardo and Kate approaching; Eduardo says that with Dario on board, the sky will be the limit. Dario asks if they would like to join them; Blanca is luke-warm to Eduardo, saying that she isn’t quite sure how to feel about him and his new “whatever” because of her friendship with Adriana. Eduardo tells Blanco that he appreciates her honesty and her protection of her friend and his son; she takes a phone call and tells them she is being called into work. Dario knows she overheard that they are keeping a secret from Kate; he runs after her… she tells him she has to assume that he is keeping a secret from her too. He tells her he will tell her everything then.
Kate asks if Eduardo arranged this little visit with Dario and Blanca; he admits that he did want her to get to know his son better. She asks why and he tells her because that’s what you do when you are serious about someone; she is surprised. Blanca agrees to hear Dario out and he promises he won’t do anything to make her walk away.
Rafe gives Hope a pep talk before her hearing; he tells her that Andre got the temporary DA to drop all the other charges (than murder). Hope says she probably knows that’s all she needs; Rafe says she can’t give up. Shaun steps in the room and tells Hope he’s not giving up; she is happy to see him. He tells his mother that he has confidence in Justin and believes he will make the judge see things just the way they do. Marlena is going to testify as to Hope’s mental state at the time of the shooting; Roman supposes Steffano knew how close to the edge she was and he probably tormented her into doing it. Jennifer and Adrian talk about the story they are going to write for the paper; they also discuss Adrian and Lucas’ upcoming wedding. Jennifer tells Adrian that her brother is a very lucky man and she better make sure he treats her right; Adrian says Lucas is perfect for her in everyway and they can’t wait to start their lives together. She calls Lucas to tell him she is on her way to the courthouse and will have her phone turned off; Justin strolls by and Adrian tells him that she is grateful he is looking out for Hope and that she is very proud of him. He tells her thank you.
At the courthouse, Jennifer and Adrian assure Julie that Hope does have a chance; even though the judge used to work for the DeMira’s she says, they are hopeful she will rescind Hope’s sentence and Justin and working every angle he has. Rafe asks Hope if she is ready to go; she doesn’t want to, but is ready; she tells him, she has realized that Steffano won. They arrive at the courthouse and Hope enters the courtroom; the bailiff announces the arrival of the judge. The prosecuting attorney begins, recounts the events leading up to that night and the shooting of Steffano DeMira; she asks that Hope be sentenced to death by lethal injection – the courtroom goes silent.
Justin gets up; admitting that the opposing attorney has been quite eloquent, he tells the court the shooting was not a choice… not a premeditated act – in fact, he says, there was actually an absence of thought because that moment was the culmination of years and years of torture and abuse; he says the real victim here is not Steffano DeMira, it is Hope Brady.
Dario lets it slip that he and his dad have a new business venture, then claims its just an expansion of the club as he sees Eduardo and Kate approaching; Eduardo says that with Dario on board, the sky will be the limit. 11-14-2016 (Monday)
A female officer brings Hope
to the interrogation room; she tells her favors are due – she knows what Hope
has done to protect the rest of the department – she lets her into the room,
where Rafe is waiting. They kiss. The blonde woman enters the mansion; she is
still holding the bunny (or is it a dog?) – she walks in and puts it in Thomas’ cradle. Andre walks in and sees (who he says is)
Abigail; she looks nothing like the Abigail we know, however. He asks her exactly what her ‘game plan’ is,
just as Chad calls out… Andre says it’s just him, talking to his nephew. Chad tells him he should really phone before
he comes over instead of just dropping in all the time. He says he needs to go do something and is
going to take Thomas upstairs; Andre talks him into leaving the baby in the
cradle, saying he will watch over him, even though Chad is hesitant to do
so.
After he leaves, Andre lets this supposed Abigail back in; he asks what she thinks she is doing. She says she had to see her son; and had to know how JJ was and check on her mom, which she was going to do at a distance, but she couldn’t. She asks him if they are still friends, “like it was in the beginning.” Andre remembers his last conversation with Abigail; she tells him she is never going to get better, and she can’t imagine Chad and her mother just taking care of her. She won’t be a burden, she tells him. They now discuss what her plans are; she says she just wants to hold Thomas for a few minutes. Chad finishes his phone call and begins to open the door that goes back into the room where Abigail is now leaning over the cradle. He finds the door locked. Andre lets him in; force of habit, he says. Sorry.
Gabi asks, what JJ means; she stands up… he begs her to let him try to explain. He starts to explain, but she doesn’t understand how he knows he cheated if he drew a total blank. He tells her there was a note left, ‘thanks for an amazing night’ or something like that; he says there was no name, or phone number. He’s sorry, he says she didn’t steal anything from him – that’s a relief, Gabi says, some constellation. She is mostly pissed that he had sex with this woman and then came back here and had sex with her. She doesn’t know how he could have done that, or why he waited until now to tell her. She calls him a cheater and tells him she never wants to see him again. Abigail looks in through the window.
As Chad goes to put Thomas to bed, he wonders how his puppy got there. Victor walks into Teresa’s room to talk to her and finds her overdosed on the bed, foam coming out of her mouth and all. He tries to wake her, starts shaking her and screaming at her. He calls Kayla and tells her to come to the house right away; he says Teresa is barely breathing. He really seems, sincerely concerned. Kayla shows up but she says Teresa needs to go to the hospital; Victor asks that she take her in the back door, he has guards at the door and doesn’t want anyone to know about this – Kayla asks why but he says he can’t tell her. Kayla calls Kimberly and tells her Teresa is there, and why; she says not to ask for Teresa when they get there, just to have her paged. When Teresa wakes up, she sees both of her parents standing there; She asks them to promise that they will still help Brady and Tate, to make sure they are safe. They say sure, but they tell her they will still help her but she has to promise never to try anything like this again. She says okay.
Rafe tells Hope that Justin is back at it with the DA; working hard to keep her out of prison. Hope tells Rafe she doesn’t know what she would have done all this time without him. Jennifer comes in to see Hope, bringing her a dress to wear to court. Rafe tells her to get a good night’s sleep; he tells her not to give up, saying they have fought too hard. They will beat this, together, he says. They hug. Andre continues his chess game with ‘his father’ – and gloats about how he will be the ‘White Knight’ this time. He says, he will prove that Hope framed him, keeping in his pocket that Rafe and Roman were co-conspirators. He says Hope will face justice head on, the town will have a brand new villain, and this time, it won’t be a DeMira

11-11-2016 (Friday) ABIGAIL IS ALIVE!!
Even though she said she thought he
needed to know the truth, Kim (Teresa’s mother) does not tell him she is there;
she makes up all kinds of other excuses instead. She says Teresa may never be able to change; he asks her to just
come to Salem to talk to Teresa. She
doesn’t want to, but then she concedes.
Teresa goes to the church to pray; she says she is hoping to protect
Tate and Brady and eventually find her way back to them. She afraid she may not, though. She prays for guidance and for
strength. JJ comes into the church and
can’t believe what he is seeing. He
tells her he knows they didn’t get along before, but they’ve both struggled and
become better – she stops him there, and says maybe not – she says all the
horrible things she has done have come back to haunt her. He offers to talk to her about it, as a
‘member of the club’ but she says she can’t; he says, for what it’s worth, that
he is sorry. She appreciates that. JJ tells her that he has done something that
would hurt Gabi if she knew; she tells him he should tell her anyway. She begs him to be honest with her, saying
it’s the only way to move forward with their relationship and the freedom to
love without guilt. He thanks her and
says she has really helped him and he is glad he ran into her today; she says
“good,” and hugs him, glad she could help somebody else.
Teresa sobs after JJ walks out the door. She turns around to leave and Brady is
standing there; he tells her that he can see she is crying for help, and
whether she likes it or not, he is going to help her. He says he is not giving up on her. He apologizes for not having been there like she needed and says
he will make this up to her; she screams, “no” and tells him she doesn’t want
him to. She says she tired of the White
Knight act; she tells him cross her off of his damsels in distress list. She says she needs to be left alone. He screams back that what she needs is
him. He tells her he is not giving up
on her; he loves her so much. She
almost appears to give in and then slaps him and runs out the door. She makes a desperate decision at this point.
Chad tells Gabi he is truly grateful for her
help, telling her she was invaluable to him, in fact; she tells him he could do
her a favor…she asks him to take the rest of a pie she’s been eating for fear
that she won’t be able to fit into that gorgeous dress again. He tells her to wait and goes to buy her a
bouquet? The blonde lady, still holding
the bunny, watches him (obviously disturbed) and then goes to look at Gabi,
sitting on the bench. She watches as
Chad comes back and gives her the flowers, sticking on behind her ear. She laughs and says he’s a good boss; Chad
says he is more than that. He reminds
her that they are friends; school friends, and he thinks, good friends.
Gabi agrees she and Chad are friends; but then JJ texts, she
gets nervous and says she has to go, leaving without her bouquet. JJ tells Gabi he has to tell her something
he’s wanted to tell her for a while; he asks her to sit down. He tells her how wonderful she has been to
him, and says he can’t lie to her any longer – he says he is sorry, and tells
her he cheated on her. She is
stunned.
Joey confesses to Claire that
he is growing tired of Jade and her constant texting; he wants to break up with
her and says he needs to do it now.
Claire offers to be his ambassador, and help soften the blow; he thanks
her. But when she tries, Jade just
laughs it off; she tells Claire that she and Joey are a couple already and
there’s nothing anybody can do about it.
She accuses Claire of just being jealous because she doesn’t have a
boyfriend, and says she is going to plan her future. Claire goes back to the table and tells Joey that it was like
talking to a brick wall; she says he is going to have to be brutal or that girl
is not going to get the message. Joey
meets with Jade, who is so excited to see him, then gives him a hard time about
ignoring her texts. He tells her she
needs to listen; he says he’s been thinking a lot and he doesn’t see this
working out. She stops him right there
and tells him he can’t break up with her because she’s pregnant.
Teresa goes back home, running into the
bedroom and digs in her drawer for a bottle of pills, then takes a drink out of
a flask, and another; I guess she is trying to really prove herself to
Brady. She is shaking like a leaf; she
pulls out a bag of cocaine and proceeds to start making a line, using her
credit card.
11-10-2016 (Thursday)
So Teresa tells Brady she is going to
shower and trying not to throw up, stopping to catch her breath after rounding
the corner. Brady picks up the bag of
pills. When she gets out, she pretends
to be looking for them and he shows her that he found them. He tells her this is crossing the line; she
looks at him defiantly. She tries to
convince him that she has never really stopped drinking; and says she got the
pills when Tate was kidnapped, because she needed them. He questions why; she tells him because he
wasn’t enough. He looks hurt, says he
was hoping this was one of her games, but he sees that it’s not; he leaves the
room angry. She takes a breathe; “well,
he believed it,” she says. He flushes
her pills down the toilet; she says lucky for her she bought in bulk. He grabs her purse and dumps it out; the
necklace Mateo gave her falls out.
Brady asks who gave it to her because he doesn’t recognize it; he
demands to know, now. She says she
bought it, with money she skimmed off the top of DJ Wear; he tells her to take
it back and she says no. She tells him
he needs to go, but he refuses; he says he took vows in this room, and he’s not
going to forget them… she tries to convince him that she was stoned out of her
mind when she made her vows. He tells
her she needs help; she says she is getting the hell out of there. He can’t believe the way she is acting. She goes to the diner to meet her mother,
crying about how hard it was to make Brady think she was on drugs again. She begs her to tell him the truth; she says
she can’t, she has to do this. Brady
calls Teresa’s mother and tells her she has fallen off the wagon again; she
tells him she thinks he needs to know the truth.
Chad strolls through the square with Thomas; he drops a little
stuffed bunny. A woman, with long
(blonde) hair, whose face we are not shown, stops and picks it up.
JJ tells his mother that he hates himself
right now; he can’t believe he got drunk and slept with someone he doesn’t even
remember… he says he needs to get some air and decides to take a walk around
the block. When he opens the door,
Sonny and Gabi are standing there. They
ask where he thinks he is going, as he is supposed to be resting; he says he
was just going to walk around the block.
Gabi says he can’t walk out on his own party; a celebration of him. They brought a box full of hats and flowers…
and an old video game system. Sonny
demands he put on a hat before they play.
Paul shows up at the door; Gabi invited him. The guys all sit down to play video games; Jennifer tells Gabi
that she hopes she understands JJ may never be the same after losing his
sister. She says she understands; they
break for donuts. The blonde-haired
woman watches the party through the window; Chad tells Gabi Mr. Bush wants them
to meet him at the square for lunch. JJ
doesn’t look so happy about that, but tells her to go. The woman steps away from the window as they
turn to leave.
Andre reveals that
Abigail asked him to help her fake her death, so she wouldn’t be a burden on
Chad and the baby; he asks Laura how Abigail disappeared on her watch… he hangs
up and says he has to find her before she does something stupid. Gabi and Chad hug in the park in celebration
of their deal-closing; the same long, blone-haired woman watches them.
Abe is going to be released, but the doctor
tells him she wants to do one final echocardiogram before she signs his
discharge papers; he agrees, and tells her that he wants to take her out to
dinner before she heads back to Washington, D.C. She agrees. Theo stands
at the door. The doctor asks if he is
ready to take his dad home; he says he sure is. His dad tries to get him to apologize for being mean to the
doctor after he says she almost killed him; he refuses and she says he doesn’t
have to. Theo goes to talk to Claire;
he tells her that he doesn’t like Dr. Grant and he doesn’t want her taking his
mother’s place. Claire says maybe he
should do something to make sure that doesn’t happen. He isn’t sure what that means.
When Theo talks to the doctor, she tells him that he is part of the
reason his dad is going to be fine; she can tell how much he loves him and
love, she believes, is the strongest medicine.
Sounds sincere; but then he overhears her telling someone on the phone
that she was in New York right now; he wonders why she’s lying. He decides to follow her.
11-9-2016 (Wednesday)
Andre tells Laura he is
upset with her; apparently, he has been paying her to hide Abigail and he
trusted her to keep Abigail hidden.
He ponders over a solo game of chess; he makes a move. Kate comes in and sits down. Marlena visits with Hope before her hearing;
she tells her everything will be alright… she is helping with the psych
evaluations and says her lawyer will find a way to keep her out of prison. Rafe comes to talk to Andre; he says he
wants to make sure he is sticking to his agreement with Hope, not to say
anything about his and Roman’s involvement; he assures Rafe that he wants Hope
to pay.
Hope goes in for her arraignment; the prosecutor asks for ‘special circumstances’ due to the number of bullets in the body. Hope fears that means she will be facing the death penalty. Justin comes to talk to Sonny about his duties for Titan; after he leaves, Sonny sees Paul and his beau having breakfast. He offers Paul a job working with him, doing surveillance on the docks. Steve goes to meet someone on the docks; it is Teresa’s father, but he’s surprised to see him. He asks why he’s there; he says it’s family business, and he’s trying keep a low profile – he is the ‘client’ who contacted him. He asks Steve about Hope and asks if there is any way he can help.
Teresa meets with her dad in the park; she tells him Brady is going crazy, leaving voice messages. But she admits her plan is killing her; he doesn’t deserve this, she says. Her dad asks her just to tell Brady the truth; she says she can’t, ever, tell him. She gets a text from Mateo; he demands a meeting, so she goes to an alley where she finds him. She asks why he wants her so bad; he says he loves her, and she’s the one who got away… she says if he really loves her, he would let her go. He says he tried everything he could to get her out of his system, but it is impossible; so he came to find her. He has plans to “rule the world” he says, and a king needs a queen; he holds her face, not so gently. She says she just needs a little more time to make a clean get away (to convince Brady she doesn’t love him) so Brady doesn’t come after them.
Brady talks to Marlena and decides that a vacation is what he and Teresa need; yeah, that’ll fix everything. Teresa goes home and considers packing; she lays down on the bed and cries. When she hears Brady, she jumps up and puts on a different face; she ‘hides’ a bag of pills in her clothes. He tries to talk to her, but she tells him she just wants to sleep, as she lays back down and rolls over. He tells her he wants to take a trip; she says, “whatever,” and gets up to go take a shower. He finds the pills.
Hope goes in for her arraignment; the prosecutor asks for ‘special circumstances’ due to the number of bullets in the body. Hope fears that means she will be facing the death penalty. 11-5-2016 (Tuesday)
Vicki doesn’t buy the show
and asks what it is all about. Gabi
says she just has jealousy issues and couldn’t stand seeing her throwing
herself at him; they mention her husband and she asks to keep this between
them, just as her husband comes back in.
She tells him that she just found out Chad and Gabi are a couple; they
decide to go out to dinner to finish going over the terms of the proposal. At the dinner table, Chad jumps when Vicki
reaches in between his legs with her foot; he says he saw a mouse… her husband
excuses himself and she does it again.
Gabi says this time it was a rat; they tell the woman she better back
off or they are going to tell her husband.
When her husband returns, she tells him that she thinks Chad will be
doing great things at DeMira Enterprises; her husband smiles and says he does
to. He tells Chad to tell his over
interested investors that he has found his man; they shake on it.
Kayla and Steve come to the church to take measurements for the flower arrangements for Adrian’s wedding; Steve lights a candle, to thank God for keeping Kayla and Marlena safe from Orpheus. Kayla lights one for Hope, praying the judge will show her compassion; Steve says he wouldn’t be surprised if she walked out of the courtroom a free woman. Andre walks in and calls Steve a hypocrite. They exchange words and Steve tells him the only reason he doesn’t clock him over the head is because they are in a church. Andre gets frustrated, gives up and leaves; Steve tells Kayla she is the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, and asks her to marry him again, insisting they’ve got it right this time. She says yes. They go to a hotel room to make love because Joe is at the house with friends.
Jennifer tells JJ that she and Adrian bought the paper; he congratulates her and says he knows she’ll do great. Gabi shows up, apologizing for her phone being off; he tells her she looks beautiful and asks why she is dressed like that. Chad comes home and tells Andre that he closed the deal with Brad Bush; Andre inquires as to how, and Chad tells him it was all thanks to Gabi.
Brady is looking at his watch, wondering where Teresa is. Teresa sneaks in…recalling her conversation with Victor; she prepares to desecrate her relationship with Brady. She goes in, says something about happy hour, and pours herself a drink (acting a bit sloshed already); she asks Brady what his problem is. She tells him she is celebrating that they can all breath again; she got so tired of being cooped up. He tells her she forgot to pick up Tate; she blows it off as if it’s no big deal – he got him. Brady seems suspicious about why she’s acting this way; with her back turned to him, her face shows that she doesn’t want to be doing this, then she turns and asks if he has any idea how long it’s been since she’s had any fun. He becomes extremely compassionate, and understanding and tells her he is right there for her; they will figure this out together. He tells her they are going to be okay; she almost starts crying. She finds a way to get even uglier, insisting he just doesn’t get it; she storms out, saying she is going to find a ‘judgment-free zone.”
Victor comes home to find Brady sitting in the dark; he tells her that she went out of her way to push him away… to get mad at him – and he doesn’t understand. Victor says maybe she just can’t be saved; he suggests he give up. Andre gets a call from Laura, Abigail’s grandmother; she says ‘she is gone.’

11-7-2016 (Monday)
Gabi and Jen fuss over JJ…he’s home from the
hospital and they make him comfortable on the couch. Gabi comes to dress Chad for a symphony; he decides he doesn’t
want to go alone and asks her to join him (to help him charm the potential
investor). He gives him her card and
she buys a beautiful long red dress; after the symphony, they sit in the square
and talk. The wife seems quite taken
with Chad; the men go off to discuss the proposal. Gabi seems a bit concerned with his wife’s interest in Chad. JJ confesses to his mother that he is
feeling guilty because he cheated on Gabi – when he was in Miami, he tells her,
he went to a bar one night (to numb the pain) and he woke up the next morning,
in his motel room, naked, an empty bottle of tequila on the floor and a napkin
with lipstick kisses. He didn’t even
know this woman, what she looked like, or her name.
Chloe, Nicole and Deimos wait to get the results from his
newest DNA test; he is extremely impatient…goes to bug the technician and gets
kicked out of the room. Ultimately, the
test results show that he is not, in fact, the father of this baby. Nicole consoles him, which frustrates Chloe
and makes her even more determined to keep her secret. After Deimos leaves the room, Chloe even
tries to talk to Nicole about the danger she believes Deimos poses; she begs
her to rethink her relationship with him.
But Nicole sticks up for Deimos, and leaves Chloe feeling afraid to
reveal the truth to her; Nicole and Deimos leave together. Chloe calls Philip. She tells him she just needs a friend to
talk to; he is pleased to be there for her.
She confides in him that she had agreed to be Daniel and Nicole’s
surrogate; the first attempt failed, and she tried again on her own – she was
told again that it didn’t work…but realized it must have, when the test showed
Deimos wasn’t the father. Philip tells
Chloe she can’t keep the baby from Nicole because of Deimos; Nicole is the
mother, end of story. He then tells her
that he loves her, and says, no matter what happens, he has her back. Deimos apologizes to Nicole and tells her he believes the were meant for each other; he asks her if there is any way they could have another chance.
Chad invites this couple back to his mansion
for a drink; they toast 'to new friends.'
The man invites them to come spend a weekend with them at ‘the cape’
sometime; then he acts like he still hasn’t made up his mind about the deal and needs more time, saying he’s not
sure about the numbers. Chad assures
him the deal he’s proposing will yield a large return. Thomas wakes up and Gabi runs to check on
him; the couple brings up his father’s murder when she leaves the room. The wife suddenly asks her husband to run to
the car to get a shawl for her; she sits down on the couch and invites Chad to
sit next to her. She assures him that
Bradley likes him very much; then says, she likes him too, A LOT, as she rubs
her hand on his chest. Chad is not sure
how to react to that. She then becomes
more aggressive and practically crawls up on top of him and tries to kiss him;
he jumps up…apologizes and says she is a beautiful women, but married – to the
man he wants to do business with. She tells him he'd be wise to remember that; she says, if Chad wants to do business with her husband, he needs to do business with her first. Gabi
walks in and tells her to get off of him; strutting by, she says, “sorry Vicki,
Chad belongs to me” and kisses him passionately.
11-4-2016 (Friday) DECEIT & DISTRUST
Teresa looks for her grandma
at the bar; her mother comes up behind her, pulls the blinds and tells her she
is safe, for now. She says she knows
Teresa turned down her father’s help and tells her she needs to change her
mind. She tells her that her dad’s plan
sucks; she says she has a plan of her own.
He father shows up; she tells them both that the is going to give Mateo
what he wants… she is going to Mexico with him. She says she is going to try to convince everyone that she is the
old Teresa again, drinking and being irresponsible; the she’ll leave Brady and
Tate and when she gets to Mexico, she will try to get close and get information
on the cartel, so her father can take him down and maybe she can come back to
her family. Her dad tells her it’s too
dangerous; Teresa says she knows how dangerous it is, but she brought this on
herself. She says everything has come
full circle and now she has to pay. Her
dad agrees to help her; he’s going to talk to the FBI and see if he can get
some kind of support. He mom asks her
how she is going to handle being intimate with that monster; Teresa says she
has used her body before, even though she is not proud of it, she says she can
do it. Then she tells her mom not to
judge; she slept with Victor to save Teresa’s father once. Her mom tells her, even though she had her
doubts about her and Brady in the beginning, she doesn’t think she pull off
pretending not to love him.
Rafe brings Hope a cup of coffee; she tells him, on top of the murder charge, she is also being charged with Obstruction of Justice and Falsifying Evidence. Rafe tells her he is there for her – he loves her – he offers to go get her a cheeseburger (she laughs). Ciara comes in to see her mother; Hope hugs her, but she’s acting pretty cold. She says she wasn’t going to come, but Theo made her; she says he misses his grandpa, adding, he loved him. Hope says she knows. Ciara insists that Hope tell her everything… no matter how horrible. Ciara says there’s no way Steffano deserved to die like that; Rafe excuses himself. Hope tells her daughter that she knows what she did was wrong; Ciara calls her a hypocrite. Hope explains the confrontation with Steffano, and her state of mind at the time; she says she doesn’t remember pulling the trigger. Ciara says maybe she could plead temporary insanity; Hope says she has to take responsibility for her actions. Ciara says she has to try to come back; she wants her mom again. Rafe asks Hope if there’s anything he can do for her; she tells him she needs to meet with Andre DeMira. Ciara goes to see Theo and tells him she can tell him what her mom said, if he wants; he says he doesn’t want to hear any of it. She says okay and sits down beside him; they both agree that no matter what, they don’t ever want their friendship to end.
Dario meets with his dad; they discuss which family they should go after (whichever is easier to exploit, Eduardo says). Deimos meets with them, making a ‘ripoff’ offer, as they call it – they say they will go talk to the DeMira’s; Deimos tells them he will give them 20% off. Eduardo shakes his hand, saying, “done.” Dario and his dad discuss the deal; they say they think they made a good decision.
Chloe continues her conversation with the baby, telling it that she is not going to keep the truth from Nicole forever; she just needed some time to think. She ponders when she should tell Nicole that this is Daniel’s little boy. Chloe calls Nicole back, asking her if she would meet her at Café Leo, where they used to take Parker to get ice cream; she tells her there is something she needs to know. Deimos comes to see Nicole and overhears her talking to Chloe, agreeing to meet with her; he asks Nicole to take him with her. She says this is not going to end well, but agrees to take him with her. Chloe is pissed, but agrees to go with them to get another DNA test; while waiting, she tells Nicole that she is pissed about being bullied into taking another test against her will. Nicole argues that once Deimos sees the results, he will leave her alone; Chloe says this isn’t about Deimos, it’s about the fact that she is so blindly in love with him, Chloe doesn’t even know who she is anymore. She chooses not to tell Nicole about the baby.
11-3-2016 (Thursday)
Adrian comes to tell Jennifer that the
negotiation went better than expected; he sold the paper to them “for a
song.” They are the new owners of the
Spectator. She said she started off
talking about how her brother used to be the Editor, but what sold it was when
she told him Jennifer would be in charge of the journalism. Adrian tells Jennifer if she takes care of
that, she will handle the “biz.” Justin
shows up; he is angry with Adrian for buying the paper ‘out from under’ Titan…
he says it was all over in the paper that they were putting in a bid for
it. Adrian is really pissed about
Justin’s reaction to their purchase of the paper; Jennifer asks her why it
upset her so.
Teresa comes home,
terrified; she finds a box on her bed, with a phone in it. The phone rings; it’s Mateo, letting her
know he was in her house… he tells her how beautiful her little boy is. She runs to check on Tate. He’s not there; she asks Mateo what he has
done with them, but he doesn’t answer.
She tells him she will do whatever he wants; Brady strolls up the
sidewalk with Tate in the stroller… she hugs him, asking where he was. He said they just went for a walk; they go
in the house. Mateo is still on the
phone; Brady goes upstairs and Teresa talks to him again, asking what he
expects her to do. She calls Victor for
a meeting and tells him that this man has threatened to kill Brady and Tate if
she doesn’t leave them and go with him to Mexico; she tells him she doesn’t
want to go, and asks if he could use his connections to help her.
Victor says he can’t help Teresa; this man is more powerful
than him, he says. Victor suggests she
get her father’s help; she says her father just wants her to run. She decides she is going to have to go to
Mexico with Mateo and do whatever he wants; Victor tells her, he agrees, but
says she can’t tell Brady – but how is she going to explain her leaving, he
asks. She cries; Victor puts his hand
on her shoulder. When she sees Brady in
the bedroom, she asks him to make love to her.
Chloe holds her belly and talks to the baby; she says they have no one
else to lean on… she says Deimos is the reason that no one can know their
secret. She returns Nicole’s phone
call; Nicole asks why she didn’t tell her the baby wasn’t really Deimos’ – she
tells her she wants her to come live with her, asking if he isn’t the father,
what is the problem? Chloe makes up a
story about having a one-night stand with a guy in a bar, then suddenly tells
Nicole she needs to go, and hangs up.
She imagines a conversation between her and Nicole, back when Daniel was
still alive; on the park bench, after Daniel goes to play with Parker, she
tells Nicole she wants to be a surrogate for her and Daniel. If only it could have been that easy, she
tells the baby. She says it wasn’t that
easy a sell with Daniel; he resists the offer, but then concedes.
Next scene shows them at the sperm bank/
doctor’s office; they are told it will take about three weeks for the process,
but then, the transfer doesn’t take – and then Daniel died, along with Nicole’s
dream. Chloe reveals that she went back
to the clinic and found out she had the right to try implanting another one of
the frozen embryos…and this time, it took.
But she had never told Nicole, and for whatever reason, still isn’t sure
she should. Deimos calls Nicole to
apologize; he says he spoke with someone who helped him see the other side of
all of this. He asks Nicole to give him another chance.
11-2-2016 (Wednesday)
People gather at the
church to pray and thank God for the salvation of Salem; Paul and Sonny exchange
glances from across the room. Brady
talks to Nicole; he tells her that she and Deimos being done is probably a
blessing in disguise. She tells Brady
how much she really grew to love Deimos; he apologizes, offering her a
comforting touch on the face.
Teresa decides to go to the confession boothe. Her father (a spy) is in there, pretending to be a priest; he says he has to talk to her and tells her she is in danger. She asks him to explain (he calls her Jeanie); he says it is about Mateo – he knows she is living in Salem, he says, and wants her back. She is upset, saying she was a different person then; she says she has such a happy life now. She wonders if Mateo timed it this way deliberately to make her suffer more now that she has loved ones and so much to lose; she recalls how she used to party and drink herself into oblivion, not caring about anyone or anything.
Her dad tells her this is serious and there is nothing he can do; they haven’t been able to get anything solid on him. Apparently, this man is in charge of hundreds of drug cartels and they can’t get close enough to take him down. He tells her they have a safe-house where she and her family can go to live in hiding; she says no, she can’t force them to leave Salem. He says maybe she should go on her own; she gets angry at the thought of leaving her family (like he left her). She runs to Brady and asks if they can leave, saying she just needs to get out of there; she is obviously shaken; Brady asks her what is going on. She asks him just to hold her.
They go have breakfast, and she suddenly seems to be feeling much better; she tells him it was just that stuffy old church upsetting her. She says she just wants to sit there and spend time with the man she loves; she still looks as if she is going to cry. He tells her that he has been thinking it’s time they moved out of the mansion and found a home to call their own; she gets nervous and tells him that sounds wonderful, but she is really comfortable at the mansion and isn’t in a hurry to move. She says Tate will be waking up from his nap soon and they should get back; as they leave, it is apparent that somebody is watching them from across the square. For some reason, on the way home, she decides to tell Brady that she got bit by the shopping bug and wants to stay behind; he leaves and she sits down on the bench. A man, speaking Spanish, approaches her and puts his hand on her shoulder; she doesn’t move. He walks around and sits down on the bench; he tells her he was upset when she ran away from him – and since that time, he has become more powerful, and he wants her to leave with him and move to Mexico.
At home, Brady asks Sonny how things are going with Paul; he says they found a way to be friends, but that’s all. Marlena wakes up in the hospital bed, startled, having been dreaming of being in the wooden coffin on fire; Roman reassures her she is fine. He tells her Orpheus is dead. She asks where John is; Roman says he got delayed at the pier answering questions for the police. He sent Roman so she wouldn’t be alone when she woke up.
Philip talks to a woman, who is apparently Chloe’s mother; he asks if she knows where Chloe is. She doesn’t. She says if she hears from her, she will tell her Philip is looking for her; she asks if he hears from her, that he do the same for her. He agrees. Not long after Philip leaves, Diemos sits down at the same table and introduces himself to the woman; she doesn’t look happy to meet him. He says she needs to tell him where her daughter is; she tells him to get the hell away from her and leave her daughter alone. Nicole runs into Philip in the square; he tells her that even her own mother doesn’t know where she is. When Nicole mentions that she has told Deimos he is the father, Philip corrects her, telling her that the test actually was not doctored; Deimos is not the father of Chloe’s baby. Nicole asks who is then; Philip says he has no clue.
Lucas and Adrian come home to find Jennifer enthralled by a story on her tablet; she says she is reading about Hope, and it’s not good. She is angry about how the newspaper is representing Hope; they don’t even have the facts correct. This paper, the Spectator, used to be a project of Jack’s… Jennifer wishes she had the money to buy it back and make it something to be proud of again. Lucas and Adrian decide to make Jennifer an offer; her alimony from Justin just got deposited into the bank and she wants to invest it to buy the Spectator – out from under the Kariakis family. Jennifer is thrilled and can’t say no when Adrian offers her the position as Editor in Chief; they spit on their hands and shake on it.

Justin makes his representation of
Detective Brady known; the Mayor and his assistant request a conference with
Roman and Rafe. Chad asks Andre if it’s
true; Andre tells him it is. Chad goes
in to talk to Hope; he asks if this is some kind of game or trick of Andre’s –
she says it’s not. She tells Chad she
did it; he is stunned. He asks her what
happened; she tells him she went to see Steffano about what happened to Bo, how
he laughed at her, he goaded her… she says she couldn’t think straight. Chad asks if he suffered; she tells him, he
laughed, which doesn’t seem to surprise Chad.
He asks Hope if that gave her the right to play God. He asks, what about the man who is in prison
right now, serving time for her crime (she has no answers). Chad is obviously upset; he tells Hope she
is pathetic. He says he would
understand if she’d have caught his father committing a crime; he talks about
how he was proud his son was part of a family as good as the Martin
family. Hope apologizes, and says she
cares about him. He grabs her hand and
says he knows; he also says, he knows his father did terrible things to her
over the years, but that doesn’t make what she did okay. She says she knows.
Roman confronts Chad coming out of the room;
he tells Justin it is going to be hard to get Hope to defend herself. Justin says that will be his job; he goes in
to talk to Hope. He tells her that he
believes she is suffering from PTSD, which is a great defense; she says that
she is going to confess, without a fight.
She says she made a deal with Andre, to avoid exposing who she was
talking to on the tape; she reveals to him that Rafe and Roman were
co-conspirators after-the-fact (and could go to prison right beside her).
Rafe talks to Chad in the square, and seems
to get through to him when he points out what Abigail did to Ben because of
what Ben did to her; he says sometimes people just get pushed past a point, and
they snap. Rafe tries to talk Hope into
letting him confess to the cover-up; she refuses. He agrees to stand beside her through this, no matter what. Hope is arrested.
Steve comes into the police station to ask for assistance; Andre
offers his. He tells Steve that Roman
is busy right now because of Hope’s confession about killing his father. He makes some calls and tells Steve that his
contacts (who he says are very reliable) tell him that Kayla and Marlena are
being held in warehouse 67, next to some of the Kariakis holdings; Steve is
suspicious but heads out. Andre says if
Steve doesn’t get there in time, it’s his own fault.
At home, Chad asks Andre if he didn’t think that something like
this was something he should have been told; Andre reminds him that he wasn’t
very sympathetic when he brought it up the first time. Still at the festival, Paul and his date
decide to go to ‘The Spot’ – his date suggests texting Sonny to see if he wants
to go, since they are all friends. When
Sonny receives the text, he recalls Paul telling him he agreed that they should
just be friends; he seems remorseful.
Steve calls Paul and asks him if he could find out if there has been any
activity near that warehouse on the docks; Paul decides to go there
instead. His date offers to go with
him.
Orpheus pours gasoline on the
wooden boxes; Kayla screams. He tells
the ladies he is going to put them out of their misery; he opens his lighter
and it flames. Paul shows up at Sonnys
and asks if he can call his guys at Kariakis Enterprises to find out if they
have seen anything strange going on at warehouse 67. Laslo comes in to tell Orpheus there are kids playing out on the
dock, with fireworks; Orpheus decides to go shoo them away and check out their
escape route. Sonny gets confirmation
of the coffins being delivered to warehouse 67, and says Titan hasn’t used that
warehouse in years. Paul calls his dad;
John and Steve head that way. Inside
the coffins, Kayla is panicing and Marlena has passed out. Orpheus lights them on fire. Steve gets to the warehouse and sees the flames; Orpheus is
still standing there admiring his handiwork.
John rushes to get the women out of the burning coffins, while Steve
struggles with Orpheus over his gun.
Orpheus is shot, begins laughing and slumps as he slides down the wall,
falling to the floor. Kayla comes to,
in shock, on the ambulance cot; Steve tells her Marlena is fine. The medic tells Steve and Kayla that they
have not had a pulse in half an hour; Orpheus has bled out… he is really dead.
10-31-2016 (Monday)
Lucas and Aiden, dressed as
a knight and a Lady, run into Justin as they stroll through the park; Justin
doesn’t look happy. He heads on to the
fundraiser. Gabriel is dressed as a
Mexican maiden, as is Adriana; Chad comes out, dressed as Zoro. They are headed to the fundraiser. The recording continues to play, “I killed
Steffano,” as Hope stands, helpless; Rafe goes to shut off the source. He pulls a device out of Andre’s hands and
smashes it to the floor. Andre tells
him, he can’t save Hope this time. Rafe
grabs Andre by the shirt; Roman pulls him off.
Ciara asks her mother what’s going on, insisting on staying by her side;
Hope tells Julie and Doug to take Ciara home.
Andre demands that justice be done; the Deputy Mayor concludes the
ceremony and suggests this conversation be continued at the police
station.
Chad storms off, upset by the news; Gabi tries to console him… he wonders how Hope could have killed his father and simply wandered around town like nothing had happened. Chad vows to get to the bottom of this. Doug, Adrian, Julie and Lucas bring Ciara home; they are all hesitant to tell Jennifer what happened. As Ciara tries to explain about the recording, Jennifer recalls Hope confessing to her; Ciara is shocked that she already knows, and asks if it’s true then.
Rafe questions how Andre got a recording of their conversation; Roman asks Andre the same question. Andre says it doesn’t matter where he got it, but he says, he made many, many copies. The Mayor tells Hope that he doesn’t believe this – she’s a decorated cop, he insists, and he vows to find out how Andre got her voice on tape confessing to murder. The Mayor leaves; Rafe and Roman follow. Hope goes in to talk to Andre in the conference room; he explains to her that he broke into Aiden’s room, guessed her date of birth as his password and found the recording, and made copies. He tells her, she had to know that he would seek revenge for being framed by her. She tells Andre that his father made her, his prisoner, brainwashed her, kidnapped her baby, and did everything in his power to destroy her happiness; he also put her family through hell, she adds.
Andre tells Hope that maybe they can find a less barbaric but equally effective way for her to atone for her sins. The Mayor, Roman and Rafe return; Hope tells them that she has something to say that she should have said a long time ago. She tells them that the recording was real; she confesses to killing Steffano. Chad is standing outside the office door.
Steve and John question how Orpheus is still alive; they return to their office to start investigating. They find a clue. Marlena and Kayla are tied to chairs; Orpheus taunts them, saying this is no dream…it’s their worst nightmare. He explains to the women, how his friend, Laslo, retrieved and revived him after he was left for dead in the morgue. He tells them that he is going out for a little trick-or-treating, adding the real fun will begin when he gets back. John and Steve go to the docks, where they see somebody in a magician’s costume; they point their guns and tell him to turn around. It’s just a kid. He offers them candy. Orpheus comes back with two wooden coffin boxes; he puts them each in one and nails them shut.
