Sammi goes back to Susan Banks' house; Marlena tells John, there was no stopping her. She gets there just in time to see Susan and ‘Will’ with their
bags backed, ready to walk out the door.
Sammi grabs the arm of the man she believes to be Will; she tells Susan
she isn’t taking him anywhere. Sammi
asks ‘Will’ to listen to her; he steps forward and tells Sammi it’s time she
listen to him. He says he wants her to
stop making claims on his life; he says he remembers Susan being the one who
took him to the hospital when he fell off his bike and broke his wrist. Sammi tells him that is a story from her
son’s childhood, his “father.” He looks
even more confused than before; Sammi starts to recall stories from Will’s
childhood, which seem to be reaching him –maybe.
Marlena and John continue to analyze the situation, recalling events
from Salem’s past, which involved Susan Banks and Steffano DeMira (and two
other people I’m not familiar with, Kristen and D-something...) trying to pass E.J. off
as John’s son? Marlena says there isn’t
much, even in Susan’s deepest, darkest secrets; she was troubled, but not
inherently evil, she says. She believes
it was mostly Steffano’s influence; she wonders if Susan’s ex-husband would be
able to help them.
Sammi shows ‘Will’
pictures on her phone of them, as a family, him as a child, his father, his
grandma, Sonny, their wedding, and Susan’s real son, E.J. He becomes overwhelmed and says he has to
“go to work” and runs out the door.
Susan tries to follow him, but Sammy throws her to the ground and says,
“you’re not going anywhere.” Marlena
tells John that Susan pretty much lost it when she lost E.J. and that’s when
she decided to move back to Memphis; John says he knows “something that might
work here.” He leaves.
Hope ponders the
situation; she can’t believe Sammi finds her son is alive, just as Abe might be
losing his. Rafe says he can’t believe
JJ shot Theo; Hope says the one thing she can believe is that Sammi will end up
getting thrown in jail doing something stupid again. Hope also tells him she is frustrated that he risked his
reputation to help Sammi; Rafe says it looks more like she is mad than
frustrated – she pours herself a drink says he’s right, because he wasn’t there
for her in all this… he was in Memphis with Sammi. He apologizes for making her feel “abandoned” and says he didn’t mean
to hurt her; he tries to explain his situation. She says, none of that matters because he doesn’t know what she’s
been through, since he wasn’t there.
She calls him “Detective Hernandez,” and tells him he better stop and
think before he says another world.
(Wow.)
He apologizes, and asks if they are okay; Hope says, “I want us
to be.” He brushes her hair out of her
face and says, “me too.”
Adrian tells Justin that she is worried about Sonny,
saying he is determined to “get through to Will” and she can’t help but think
about the hell Paul must be going through right now. She likens it to what they have been through; he says all that
matters is that they are there for him if, and when, he needs them. Adrian gets very passionate all the sudden
and decides she doesn’t want to wait any longer to make love; they undress and
end up in bed.
Sonny comes into the bar in Memphis; he sees Paul there. He says he was hoping to find Will; he
turns, saying he is going to check Susan’s house…. Paul asks him to wait. Sonny tells him, thanks to Susan Banks and
Dr. Rolph, Will thinks he is E.J. DeMira; Paul is shocked. When Sonny tells him Will doesn’t remember
him or their life together, Paul says he is “so sorry” and Sonny asks, “but are
you, really?” He asks how he could have
not told anyone before they got on a plane back to Salem, saying Susan could
have taken him away and he “could have lost him all over again.” Paul looks very hurt. He asks Sonny to understand his position;
how he feared he would lose everything they had together if he found Will
alive. Sonny sees Will walk in; Paul
backs up Sonny’s claim that he is Will… ‘Will’ asks Paul who he is. He tells him he is Sonny’s fiancĂ©`; now
‘Will’ is very confused.
Sammi tries her best to get through to Susan
after ‘Will’ leaves; she knows Susan is using him to replace her dead son. She reminds Susan of their history together,
and says E.J. would be very disappointed in her. Although, at moments, Susan appears to be regretful, she reaches
out and slaps Sammi across the face, hard!
Surprisingly, Sammi doesn’t react; she responds… talking softly to
Susan; Susan breaks down, Sammi says she sees her pain. Susan cries; Sammi pleads with her, “tell
Will the truth.” Susan jumps up and
says she won’t, calling Sammi a “horrible witch of a mother.” Sammi takes a breath and asks E.J. (looking
up) to help her, not to kill Susan.
Sonny explains, Will was gone already when he met Paul; Sonny mentions their wedding day, and Will getting shot… pointing right where he has the scar from the bullet. Marlena comes in the bar next; Will says he knows she is supposed to be his grandma, from the pictures Sammi showed him. She says she is. Then, John brings in 'Elvis.' Roger, as Susan calls him, refuses to back up Susan's story any longer, he says.
