10-20-2017 (Friday) Coming and Going

Hope breaks the news to Jen about Dr. Rolf supposedly reviving Will after he was pronounced dead; Jennifer says, “Ben is psychotic!”  Hope knows this but believes Steffano may have had something to do with it, if it’s true; Hope says she has found nothing on Steffano’s whereabouts though, or Rolf’s.  Jen says all she remembers about Dr. Rolf was that he was “Steffano’s Mini-Me.”Andre tells Kate he has “wonderful news about Will.”  He tells her there is a chance that Will is alive; he projects excitement and asks why she doesn’t seem happy about it.  Andre goes to see Hope; he tells her he doesn’t particularly need to see her, but he says Kate insisted.  He says he hopes he’s not making a terrible mistake.

Sammi forces a “party” upon Eric for their birthday; she brings a cake and lights one candle on top of it.  She tells him they can’t waste it on something they can never have; Eric says she must be thinking of Will; she is quiet, but nods.  She tells Eric that Andre is going to lure Rolf out of retirement, and “make him feel like he’s being summoned by the old man.”  Sammi asks if she shove a piece of cake in Nicole’s face; Eric told her there’s been a change of plans.  She cheers when she thinks he dumped her; she gets mad when he tells her she dumped him and calls Nicole “that bitch.”  He tells his sister it was weird; she left to go get her baby, and when she came back, it was like somebody “flipped a switch.”  Brady talks to Nicole in the park; he tells Nicole that he is getting “satisfaction” out of this.  She asks why he is trying to control the rest of her life; he snaps back that it’s because she ruined the rest of his.  She pleads with him to let her be with Eric; Brady says if he finds out that she leaves town with Eric, he will call the cops immediately.  He tells her, “you Can’t be with the one you love” and adds, “welcome to my world.

Sammi jumps up and tells Eric she has to go somewhere; he asks what she’s going to do.  She says maybe something, but promises not to get into any trouble; she leaves.  Eric looks through a box of old photos, then recollects the recent good times, and bad; he stands frozen.  Nicole bumps into Sammi in the Square; Sammi tells her Eric is “in shreds.”  She says they both know she was never good enough for her brother; she is grateful she dumped him, she says… Nicole tells her to wait, saying she has no idea what she’s talking about.  (Personally, I’m a little annoyed by this whole storyline; Nicole seems like a flip-flopping slut, who can’t control her urges and can’t make up her mind.  Not the Nicole I love.)  She tells Sammi that what she did, she did for her daughter and says she won’t explain it to her; she tells her she would have done the same thing.  Sammi wishes her luck; Jen sees Nicole, asking if that was Sammi.  Neither one knew she was back in town; Sammi asks what Sammi said to her.  Nicole says it wasn’t her.  She sits down and holds Holly for a minute, saying she isn’t giving up on Eric; she says to herself, “with God as my witness, I will be back” and heads out of the Square, pushing the carriage and pulling her bags.“

Adrian” insists Justin answer his phone; she says it’s driving her crazy.  Justin starts to answer his phone, but sees Maggie struggling to get down the stairs with her suitcases.  He sits the phone down on the tabletop; “Adrian” sees “Statesville Prison” calling and grabs it, dogging into the other room.  She answers as “Adrian Kariakis.”  Adrian says, “no you are not.”  She tells Bonnie she is on to her, and Steve will soon be on to her too; she says Hattie told her everything and it’s only a matter of time.  Bonnie looks worried.  Adrian demands Bonnie put Justin on the phone, but then turns desperate sounding, pleading and Bonnie hangs up on her; Justin comes in and she tells him it was just some jailbird who got his number from the phone book.  She goes to get ready for her wedding; Victor hires a Justice of the Peace, and upon meeting him, Bonnie fires him.  She brings in Sheila, who has apparently been ‘ordained’ to perform the ceremony; she pays her in cash.  Just as Victor asks about a witness, Brady walks in and asks what’s going on; Victor explains the situation very briefly, sounding obviously ‘not right’ and tells Brady if he wants to stay in his “good graces” he will stand as a “silent witness to this whole thing.”  Sheila starts to stumble through the preamble, laughing at marriage being called an “institution.”  But they are interrupted by Maggie bursting in the door, yelling, “stop!”

Kate stands, looking out the window. She turns and hugs Sammi when she sees her walk in; she reminds Sammi the chance of Will being alive is still “highly unlikely.”  They talk about Lucas and how concerned they are about him; Sammi promises to try again.  Kate tells Sammi that Andre has found Rolf; Andre tells Hope this same news.  Sammi gets mad that Chad didn’t tell her; Kate says he didn’t know.  She says Andre just told her.  A note is slipped under a hotel room door; a man sees it and opens the door.  He is surprised to see Hope Brady; Hope asks if he was expecting someone else.  Jen walks into Eric’s to find cake all over the wall and him, on the floor, holding his arm out of the coffee table.  I think there’s a necklace in his hand.

10-19-2017 (Thursday) I Don't, I Do...?

Abigail walks in to see Sammi kissing Chad; Chad pulls away and says she caught him by surprise.  Abigail asks Sammi if that was “payback” for the affair she had with EJ; Sammi just smiles.  Chad suggests they just forget it happened; Sammi apologizes and agrees.  They talk about this Dr. Rolf; Chad says he’s checking on it.  Andre walks in and asks why he should help her; he says he wouldn’t have agreed if he’d known it was “this woman” they were helping.  He wishes her luck and says it will be on her own dime and not theirs; Abigail tells Andre to stop as he tries to leave the room.  She asks him to do it for her, not for Sammi; he agrees.

Steve goes to the prison to talk to Hattie; she comes in and asks him “what’s shakin’?”  He asks her what she did to his sister; she plays dumb.  She denies doing anything; he says “it’s like someone has taken over her body or something.”  He tells her what she’s been doing, now “hooking up with Victor, a man she’s hated her whole life.”  Hattie asks what’s so strange about that; she says, “she could end up with a lot of dough.”  He asks Hattie about their little “therapy session” and demands to know the “real story.”   She still insists she doesn’t know anything; Steve storms out.  Adrian sees him as he disappears through the doorway; she runs after him and calls out to him, but is stopped by the guards of course.  Hattie tells Adrian what Bonnie is doing with her life; Adrian says it doesn’t make any sense.  She begs Hattie to please help her stop this; Hattie goes back to playing solitaire.  Adrian says Steve is going to figure it out anyway; it’s only a matter of time.  Hattie recalls that “Patch” said he would make her pay… she agrees to help Adrian. She gives Adrian her phone card; Adrian makes a call.

Justin asks “Adrian” to explain her self; she says she can’t. She says she just woke up the other morning and said to herself, “wow, I’m in love with Victor.”  He asks if Victor actually feels the same way; if she is sure of his feelings.  She tells him to go ask himself, and walks back in the room to see Victor and Maggie kissing; she screams, “what in the hell is going on?”  Victor looks guilty at first, then plays along, telling Maggie to “get off” him, saying he told her it was over; Adrian sits down next to Victor.  He says they “all know why this is happening, so let’s just get on with it.”  He pulls out a folder with divorce papers in it; Maggie begins to cry when he asks her to sign them.  “No time like the present,” he says.  Maggie refuses to sign them; she says he’ll get a divorce over her dead body.  She asks Justin to represent her; he looks over the papers and says Victor was “more than generous” and suggests she just sign the papers; she does.  After she leaves, Bonnie asks Victor how much money he gave her and why so much; he asks what her problem with Maggie is anyway.  She just tells him all he needs to worry about is her; she says she wants to get married TODAY and tells him she is going to get ready.  Justin tells “Adrian” that he knows something is going on; she shrugs her shoulders.  His phone rings, but he ignores it; Adrian, on the payphone, pleads for him to pick up the phone.  “Adrian” asks if he isn’t going to answer his phone; he just stares at her.

Theo and Claire talk about making love again; she tells him that Tripp is “at work.”  Theo is a little upset when she says she put in a good word for him at the diner; Kayla sits at a table in the Square, and Tripp asks if he can get her a cup of coffee.  She ends up telling him that she doesn’t want things to be uncomfortable for him anymore; she is going to tell Steve that she accepts him as part of their family.  Theo tells Claire that he doesn’t want her working with Tripp and gets pouty; Claire tells him to stop and swears he is the only one she wants to be with.  He tells her she’s the only one for him too; they decide to make love right there on the couch.  Steve finds Kayla at the table; he says Hattie stonewalled him, but he knows that she knows why Adrian hasn’t been her self lately.

10-18-2017 (Wednesday) A Prayer for Rescue

Adrian tells Hattie she is going to help her; she asks what she thinks Hope would think if she knew what she was doing to a member of her family.  Hattie considers it but then tells her no, “you’re on your own,” she says.  Bonnie goes to see her past love ‘Mickey Horton’ – she brings flowers to his grave and tells him they are “weatherproof” and will “never die” just like their love.  Bonnie starts to fatisize about Maggie being in a wheel chair and being the one taking care of her; she serves her a rat on a plate and Maggie screams.  Maggie falls out of the chair and Bonnie laughs; she comes back to reality.  She tells Mickey she’s not going to break Maggie’s hip, just her heart.  Bonnie has another fantasy about Maggie working for her, as the maid, breaking the figurines just to torment her.  He lays her head of Mickey’s headstone.  Justin calls Marlena to talk to her about what “Adrian” has done; Sonny comes in and hears him.  Sonny inquires, but Justin says he was just talking about a client.  Sonny tells him about Rolf; he says Will wouldn’t be the first one he brought back from the dead.  Sonny tells him he thinks he has a way to track him down.

Chad calls Andre out about being Alfie; he tells him the board wants him to resign immediately.  He tells him they all know what he did to Hattie Adams; Chad says Andre will have to convince the board that he deserves a third chance.  He suggests publicly apologizing to Hattie; then he says he needs to find someone needy.  Sonny walks in and asks if he wants to help him; Andre says he will see what he can do.

Kayla and Steve talk about Joey, how much they miss him, and whether they did the right thing about telling him all this confusion about Will.  Steve says they did, and he’ll be just fine; Steve gets a call from his mom.  She tells him “the women inhabiting Adrian’s body is not [her] daughter.”  She’s been skipping daily calls with her mom, hasn’t posted anything in weeks and she’s concerned about her; Kayla and Steve agree she has not been acting like herself lately.  They go to talk to Justin; when they get there, he tells them that Adrian just announced that she and Victor are “in love and going to get married as soon as possible.”  He tells them about Hattie taking Marlena’s place; he says maybe she could have hypnotized Adrian or something.  Steve asks if he thinks Hattie is still controlling Adrian, from prison; Justin says he doesn’t know what else to think.  (No one would think that another woman did the same thing as Hattie? Lol).  Steve wonders what would make his sister act like this.  Adrian, in prison, prays for someone to figure this out.

Sammi walks into Marlena’s office; Marlena starts to cry as she gets up to hug her.Sammi says she is glad to be back in town, despite the circumstances.  Marlena brings up Lucas; Sammi says she wishes she could help him.  She says she is going to kill Adrian for dumping him the way she did; Marlena tells Sammi she should focus more on trying to help Lucas and not on hurting Adrian.  Sammi agrees, but says Adrian better stay out of her way.  Marlena asks Sammi how she feels; she starts to cry, saying she doesn’t want to get her hopes up (thinking Will might be alive) just to have them smashed again.  She recalls similar circumstances with EJ; she imagined finding him, and cries.  She says she dragged her kids all the way around the world, and never found their father; she misses him more now, she says, than she ever has.  Marlena holds her; she tells her to just focus on her family.  Sammi stands up and says no… she has to find Dr. Rolf.  Marlena says, she wouldn’t be Sammi Brady if she did nothing; Sammi hugs her.  Next thing we see, Sammi strolls through the mansion; Chad walks in and is surprised to see her.  He is even more surprised when she grabs his face and kisses him.

10-17-2017 (Tuesday) Pulling the Strings

Sammi isn’t surprised to see Lucas, but he is surprised to see her; he tells her he knows she isn’t real, and she grabs the bottle out of his hand to show him how real she is.  He tries to grab it back and she steps on his hand; she asks what happened to him and his sobriety.  He says the woman he loved decided to go back to her [] ex husband and dumped him; he says the universe slapped a ‘kick me’ sign on his back.  When she tells him that John and Paul were there trying to dig up their son, Lucas says he will kill them; Sammi says she will help.  She remembers identifying her son’s body in the morgue; she tells Lucas they should have been better for him.  Lucas tells her he knew they loved him, and he loved them, despite themselves.  She agrees, saying he needed more time; she strokes his hair and tells Will they are there for him and will keep him safe… she kisses his forehead.  They both sit on the ground by Will’s graveside now, crying; Lucas says he wants it to be true, but it’s just not possible.  He says he misses him more every day; Sammi sobs, “me too.”  They agree that Will needs to be protected; they are sure he is dead and don’t want to dig him up.  They talk about his flaws and how much he loved them.  Sammi tells Lucas they need to talk about his drinking, but that conversation quickly turns to her joining him in finishing the bottle.  Apparently, she did it so that he couldn’t finish it; he tells her he can get more.

Victor tells “Adrian” that everybody is going to know something is really, really wrong, if he dumps the woman he loves and gets with her, a woman he despises, and hurts Justin in the process.  She tells him he better make sure they don’t.  Justin and Maggie come in; “Adrian” has called them to a family dinner.    “Adrian” says it is going to be memorable; she winks at Victor.  They pour drinks and “Adrian” tells everyone that Victor has an announcement; he gulps and says he just as well say it… he tells them that he and Adrian have fallen in love.  They gasp; Justin says this must just be a cruel joke.  “Adrian” says it’s no joke; she says they’ve been fighting it for years, but it was “bigger than both of [them].”  Maggie tells Justin that she thinks Victor has had a small stroke; Justin says he thinks Adrian has had a delayed reaction to the chemo.  “Adrian” says she just realized life is short and she wants to marry the man of her dreams before she gets another day older.  Maggie says she’s out of there; Justin follows.   Victor questions what “Adrian” means when she says Maggie is going to get what is coming to her; he asks what Maggie ever did to her.  She says it doesn’t matter, reminding him of the only two options he has.

Sonny takes out Will’s picture and holds it, asking, “could you really be alive?”  Paul walks in to see and hear this.  He sits down next to Sonny; Paul tells Sonny he has to tell him something.  Sonny gets angry to think Paul would attempt to dig up Will’s body; Paul asks Sonny to tell him one day went by without him thinking of Will instead of him.  Sonny snaps back, he can’t think of him 24/7 right now, having just found out that his dead husband might really be alive; Paul apologizes and says he knows Sonny loved Will.  Sonny says he is tired and asks if they can just go to bed; Paul says the bed isn’t big enough for the three of them, and tells Sonny to call him in the morning.  He leaves.

Nicole knocks on Eric’s door; he is elated to see her.  He says he was worried; she should have been there hours ago.  She apologizes; he hugs her and asks where Holly is.  Nicole says she let her spend the night again at Chloe’s; he carries on about how it will be hard for Chloe to come see her there.  She tells him Holly isn’t moving there; he sees she is having second thoughts, but hopes it is the farmhouse – he says he always thought she was more of a city girl.  She tells him to stop; she says it wasn’t any of those things… she says she can’t be with him.  She remembers Brady ordering her to “break Eric’s heart” and tells him that last night was a big mistake; she says she was vulnerable and he took advantage of that.  He yells, “that’s not true.”  He says he tried to leave and she came after him; she says she got caught up in the moment and she didn’t mean for it to happen.  He says he didn’t either; he grabs her face and reminds her they made love last night and this morning.  Nicole says it wasn’t love; it was just sex.  Eric knows she is lying and asks her why; he knows Brady made her do it somehow, but she denies it.  She says she knows what she needs and it isn’t him; she says she doesn’t need anybody; Eric kisses her.  She pushes him away and tells him it is over and he just as to accept it; she runs out the door, crying.
