The police station is a
mad-house; tips coming in on the tip-line but nothing panning out; officers are
scurrying everywhere. John, Marlena and
Brady discuss having a target on their back; Abe assures them they have officers
on watch. Abe asks if they have any
other suggestions; Marlena gives him her client file on Clyde Weston (she says
he has stepped over the line and she is not worried about losing her license). She says she realized, it could have been
Claire; Abe says it may help. Paul and
Claire finish up dinner they made without a stove to cook it on… she thanks
him, and tells him she is going to find a hot spot – he tells her no she’s not;
he is not letting her go anywhere. She
looks shocked. She says, she shouldn’t
be in jail; she wants to go to the pub (her online channel is making hits and
she has to stay on or her career is over.
JJ comes by to check on his mother; even though they begin talking about
the danger in town right now, the conversation turns to Abby. JJ blames Chad; Jennifer tells him he can’t…
it wasn’t his fault. Chad is having a
meeting at the diner with an out-of-town businessman; he can’t wait to get out
of town, telling Chad they want the deal to work, but now they have met
face-to-face, he says they can finish up online. Gabi walks in as he rushes out; Chad asks what she’s doing out
and about. He calls her ‘Slim.’ She smiles sweetly (I think there might be
something building here); he asks if she knows what’s really going on out there. All she knows is that Rafe and JJ say they
are going to be in for a rough night.
Chad and Gabi discuss being locked in the panic room, laughing about
almost melting because it was so hot in there; she mentions how being locked up
brought back bad memories of jail.
Chad
apologizes; JJ calls. JJ asks Gabi to
meet him, since he has a few hours off; tells her he’s left a room key for her
at the desk and gives her a room number; when she gets there, he is sound
asleep on the bed – she snuggles up next to him. He wakes up with a start and
apologizes for being asleep. She says
she knows he’s working very hard; he puts music on his phone and they
dance. He apologizes to her for disappearing
and not staying in touch; she says she understands, and he is here now. They kiss, lay down on the bed, and he gets
called back to the station. Sonny comes
by to check on Paul (making Claire mad when he sides with Paul about her not
leaving); Paul asks why he’s there and Sonny says, just checking on him,
because they are friends (even though they can’t ever “go there” again). Sonny asks Paul to be careful; Paul gets
defensive and they almost get in an argument, looking deeply into each other’s
eyes.
Chad goes to see Jennifer,
offering her security, as he has a few extra guards; she doesn’t think she’s in
danger. But when he says Abby would
want to know she is safe, she says okay; he also tells her that he’d been
putting Abby’s things away and found a watch that he wanted to give her. It has two clock faces; one stopped at the
exact moment she said yes to his proposal.
Jennifer points out that the second one is “now” and time does go on; we
have to remember that. Brady gets a
call from ‘his men’ telling him that there is a sighting… all three men, at a
warehouse on the docks. He tells them
to take them out if they can; Sonny comes in and hears him ordering the hit –
Brady defends his actions, saying this is life or death. Sonny agrees with him; they have to take
them out. Shots are fired, but it was
bad information; no one is inside that warehouse.
John gets a call from Claire; she looks scared… Orphius takes her
phone, telling John, “it’s me.”
