03-17-2017 (Friday) The Letter

Chloe meets with Eduardo; she tells him that she is scared to death.  Nicole could be anywhere, she tells him; she says she knows she is only doing this because he hates Diemos but she appreciates it.  He says he is doing it because it’s the right thing to do; she hugs him.  Kate happens by.  After Chloe leaves, Kate tells Eduardo that she doesn’t think he should be helping her; she says it’s not “the right thing.”  He says he gave his word and he is going to keep it.

Nicole and Brady have gotten fake ID’s and are dressed, supposedly, in disguise; Brady tells Nicole that he is going to take care of her and her daughter.  They head out to catch a bus; Nicole realizes that Holly has a fever.  Brady says he knows someone they can go to; they go to Dr. Lee.  But the doctor says he is going to call and turn them in; Brady stops him, physically, and yells at him for his part in this whole mess, for not notifying Nicole that he was implanting her embryo into Chloe Lane.  Nicole reminds him of when she and Daniel first came to him; she begs him to help her daughter.  He takes them to an exam room; he checks the baby out and gives her some medicine.  He says he will be back to check on them in a few minutes; but when he doesn’t return, Brady gets nervous.  He tells Nicole they need to go; when the doctor steps back in the room, with Chloe and Eduardo, Brady and Nicole and Holly are gone.

Claire comes in and jumps on Theo’s lap; she tells him that she wants him to make love to her, right now.  He stands up and tells her he didn’t expect that to happen so soon; she scoffs what, asking if he wants to wait like a year.  She says she doesn’t want to wait; Ciara walks in and asks, “what for what?”  Claire looks guilty; she covers by saying, they were trying decide if they should wait for her for dinner.  She tells them she is going to stay at her mom’s house tonight; Claire tells Theo that’s perfect.  They have the house all to themselves; she starts kissing Theo then sends him out to buy condoms.  While he’s gone, she spices up the front room, adding blue lights to the curtains to make it more romantic; when he gets home, she pushes Theo onto the couch and takes his shirt off.

Roman welcomes Eric to the Horton Center; Jennifer comes in and says she is glad to see him.  Eric says he has to find a place to live; Roman gives him the name of a realtor; he calls him and lines up a studio apartment.  Eric kisses Jennifer; she is thrilled.  She tells him that she knows he is going to do terrific, and she will be right there by his side.  She leaves; he smiles.Kate comes into Brady’s Pub and orders a drink; Roman says it sounds like she has a problem.  He asks if she wants to talk about it; she shakes her head.  Ciara tells her grandma Julie that she still has feelings for Theo and doesn’t know what to do about it; Julie suggests Ciara write Theo a letter to let him know how she feels; Ciara says that’s a great idea.  She sits down and writes a letter.

03-16-2017 (Thursday) REGRETS

Jade says she must be crazy, because after all that, she still hopes her father is okay; Kayla says she does too, assuring Jade it is normal for her to want her father to pull through.  Steve comes in talking about Tripp; Jade asks what she missed.  They tell her, including her as family.  She tells Joey she loves him and he lets her down as gently as possible; they agree that they are still friends.  She cries when he leaves the room.

Hope brings her cousin, Eli, into the department; the new Commissioner asks her who this is.  After she tells him, he asks who in this town she isn’t related to and walks away; Hope says he’s a real sweetheart.  She gives Eli a tour of the department; introduces him to Rafe, and he inquires about the local FBI office.  He says he is thinking about asking for a transfer; Rafe wishes him luck.

Diemos tells his henchman that he never should have let Nicole and Brady walk out of that motel room; he offers a bonus to whoever finds them first and tells the man to spread the word.  Rafe comes in, looking for answers; says he is going down to the docks to have a look around.  Deimos asks if he has a warrant; Rafe says he thought he’d give him a chance to cooperate first.  Deimos tells him to have a look around, and then suggests he go check out DeMira Enterprises afterward.  Deimos mocks the stellar reputation of the Salem PD; Rafe says they will keep an eye on him and thanks him for his cooperation.

Gabi and Chad both go out of their way to assure Abigail that nothing was happening; he tripped, trying to put his pants on too fast, she was trying to help him.  Abby looks slightly suspicious, but plays along.  Gabi tells Abigail she is there to talk about the gift bags she brought for tonight’s benefit; Abby asks Chad if he is okay without an audience.  He laughs; she and Gabi leave.  They discuss the benefit itinerary and go to pack the bags; Kate sits down with Chad and tells him that she thinks Gabi is the right woman for him.  He says he knows how right Gabi is for him, but so is Abigail; he acknowledges that something needs to change.  She asks what he means by that and tells her he is committed to Abby and Thomas; he says maybe the temptation needs to be removed, permanently.  (That sounds bad, but I’m sure it’s not.)  Kate asks how he intends to do that; he says he is going to tell Abigail about his feelings for Gabi and then promise to never see Gabi again – and if he sees her walking down the street, he says, he’ll go the other way.

An officer tells Hope that an alarm is going off at the Hernandez residence; he tried to reach Rafe but couldn’t get ahold of him.  Hope goes to check it out.  She goes in to find the kitchen a mess, hears a noise in the other room and enters with her gun drawn; she finds Rafe in a bubble-bath.  He laughs about how he lured her there; says he had to get her out of the office, commenting on what a hard ass that Commissioner Raines is.  She kisses him, he gets out and they go to the bed, as if getting ready to make love; Hope pulls out her handcuffs and puts them on Rafe’s left hand, cuffing him to the headboard.  He smiles; she climbs off and tells him this is his punishment for scaring her.  She leaves.

03-15-2017 (Wednesday) The New Horton

The Horton’s prepare to meet Eli; Julie worries whether he will like her double-chocolate cake or not.  He shows up and says double-chocolate cake is his favorite; Julie smiles.  Valerie tells Maggie that she regrets now that Eli will not ever get to know his father, and she’s afraid Eli may never forgive her.  Eli is introduced to Hope and Jennifer (who is showing a lot of silver in her hair with it all pulled back); he says he is slightly confused about how everyone is related.  They laugh and tell him he will catch up, adding that it only gets more complicated.  Julie introduces Eli to his great-great-grandparents via their memorial plaque and pictures; he tells her that he is very happy to be part of the family and happy to meet all of them.  Julie hugs him; Valerie shows up.  After she leaves, the family discusses their issues; Lucas admits that he mom kept him a secret from his dad too, and he chose to forgive her.  Julie stresses that the difference is Lucas got a chance to know his father; Hope hints that Eli could still get to know David too.  Eli looks confused.  The family starts telling stories about David, how he met Valerie, and the circumstances of the time (racial discrimination and such); but to David, love is love, Julie adds.  Eli thanks everyone for making him feel like a part of this family and says he looks forward to getting to know them all better.

Abe comes to visit JJ at work; he says he has a problem, apparently, with JJ and Lani dating.  He tells JJ not going to deny that they are involved, adding that he does not approve; JJ asks why.  Abe says he likes him, just not for his daughter; JJ asks him to explain.  Abe says she needs someone more mature; he tells JJ he’s a good guy and he cares about him, but he says, he cares deeply for his daughter and he hopes the two of them will respect his opinion on this.  JJ tells Abe that he will prove himself to him, given time.  Abe finds Valerie walking through the park and can tell that she is sad; she says she is having a hard time not having Eli all to herself.  He tells her that he understands how she feels and she says she doesn’t know what she would do without him; he says he isn’t going anywhere, and they kiss.

Gabi stops to drop Ariana off with Lucas for the evening; he says it’s his pleasure to watch her.  She says she might call Sonny to come spend some time with her; Ari calls out for Chad.  Lucas asks if someone has a crush; Gabi gets nervous, asking what?  He laughs, saying Ari is too young to be interested in guys; but then admits that he knows Chad loves Ari too.  Gabi suddenly says that “they” need to get going; she says she is taking Ari to ‘daycare’ now.  I’m confused.

Abigail asks Chad what he thinks of her work on his speech; he says he is going to have to let her edit all of his speeches from now on.  From a conversation about Thomas playing sports, Chad slips into the memory of Gabi teaching him to pitch; Abigail notices his distraction.  He apologizes; they kiss.  Chad gives his speech before the press, at the pre-benefit conference, saying DeMira is glad to be giving back to the community; he talks about how teamwork creates memories that last a lifetime, commitment, self-discipline, and loyalty.  Abby smiles.  Later, after he and Abby talk about what a success this whole fundraiser will be, he recollects those memories again, and a little more; then, glances back up at Abigail.  As she continues talking with the contributors, more memories overcome Chad, more details to the memories; Abby notices he is lost in thought again and asks what is wrong.  He tells her that he was taking a trip down memory lane with all this talk of Salem High; he gets nervous and dumps his drink on him.  He is grateful when Abby says she brought him an extra suit; he goes to change his clothes.  Gabi walks in on him; he falls down.  As she tries to help him up, and they laugh about it, Abigail walks in.

Ciara comes home; she says one of her teachers got sick.  Claire says the guy is an “alki” and Theo hints that isn’t cool.  He excuses himself, saying he has somewhere to go; Ciara tells Claire they need to talk… she says it’s not anything she’s done, but she’s not going to like it.  She reaffirms their friendship, and says she wouldn’t ever do anything to mess up her and Theo as a couple, but she has to admit that she still has feelings for Theo; Claire is obviously pissed.  She says she knew she wanted Theo back; Ciara says she doesn’t – she’s just trying to be honest.  She says its just hard living there with them; Claire asks if she is going to move out and Ciara quickly says no.  She just asks if they can tone it down a bit; Claire is insulted, but says they’ll try, then encourages Ciara to keep dating so she can find someone.  As they hug Ciara swears again that she would never try to come in between her and Theo; Claire smiles so fake, and says, “you better not” as she squeezes her in supposed friendship.

Claire goes to talk to her great-grandmother; she tells her what Ciara told her and says it felt like Ciara was putting her on notice because she wants Theo back.  Marlena tells her she doesn’t believe that’s it at all; maybe, she says, Ciara is just trying to be honest with her.  She tells Claire that she needs to think about Theo’s needs as well; Claire may have gotten the wrong idea.  She hugs Marlena and says that is the best advice ever; happily, now, she gets up and leaves.  Theo is home when Claire gets back, and she talks to him about taking their relationship to the next level; he asks her what that means, exactly.  She says she thinks they should sleep together; Theo looks uncomfortable as hell with that idea.

03-14-2017 (Tuesday) The Surprise

Adrian answers her door; Kate stands there, with both Justin and Lucas, a table and a woman (maybe a masseuse).  Adrian smiles.  Kate has picked out a robe and some dresses for her to put on after her pampering; she thanks them and they leave her to enjoy.  Justin comes back later, because he forgot his phone; Adrian invites him to sit down, while she’s soaking her feet.  They talk about their kids.  When she’s done, Justin takes her to the square to return the dresses that were too big; he texts Lucas to meet them there.  Lucas is a little pissed when he learns that Justin and Adrian have spent the afternoon together; but he covers it up when Adrian comes out of the shop, looking glamorous.  She gets a call from her doctor; the tumor shrank, but not enough to avoid the surgery.

Brady tells Nicole to sit tight while he goes to get some money; she tells him she doesn’t think he should come with them.  Brady says he won’t be content until he knows she is settled; he tells her he won’t be long.  She hugs him and tells him he is the one person she knows she can trust completely; he brushes her hair out of her face.  When Brady stops by the mansion, Victor hard times him about getting “sucked in” again by Nicole and her messes; Brady tries to plead Nicole’s case.  Victor tells him it is written all over his face that he has fallen for her again; he says she is going to hurt him like she did before.  Brady tells Victor he is wrong and asks him to just get Deimos back in his case.Victor asks Deimos if his meeting went wrong; he tells Victor what happened.  Victor doesn’t seem concerned; he tells Deimos all he wants to know now is what the hell Deimos has done with his lucrative antiquities business.  Deimos says he has no idea why the dealer backed out on him; then he realizes that Chad has done something and vows revenge.

Abigail tells Chad she is worried about him going after Deimos; Chad assures her he isn’t going anywhere.  Sonny shows up at Chad’s, saying that he heard he stole some valuable revenue from Titan; he smiles, and says he is there to thank Chad.  Sonny says this artifact trade Chad did or didn’t steal, may just be Deimos’ downfall; Chad says it’s one thing to want Deimos out, but he’s afraid it’s another thing to make it happen.Kate comes home and congratulates Chad on his recent acquisition; Chad gets a phone call.  Kate talks to Abigail, and tries to get her on board to the ‘fact’ that sometimes, business has to engage in practices that bend the rules.  Abby says selling stolen antiques isn’t bending the rules, it’s breaking them and Chad doesn’t want to do business that way; Kate insinuates that it is Abby, not Chad, who feels that way.  Sonny meets with Paul; he tells him to keep watching Deimos and let him know if he is going to make a move against Chad.  Paul questions if that is so he can warn Chad; Sonny says not exactly.

Nicole waits for Brady to return, and recalls their past together; she regrets screwing up over and over again.  She tells Holly, her daddy changed all of that; and now here she is, counting on Brady like she always has.  Brady says goodbye to Maggie and asks if she will give his little boy (Tat) a little extra attention for him; she says that would be her pleasure.  He says he will only be gone a week or so, telling her it’s a business trip; Victor doesn’t say anything.  (I think she knows.)  After Brady leaves, Maggie asks Victor what that was all about, saying she say “the looks” they were giving each other.  Victor confesses that Brady is going somewhere with Nicole; she cries, hoping that he can convince Nicole to come back before long.  She says Holly is all she has left of Daniel; she has to be part of her life.

Chad tells Kate he supports his wife and does want to go legit, but he tells Abby he may have to hold onto the antiquities for a while first.  He says by the time he gets done, there won’t be anything left of the Kariakis fortune, or Deimos.  Abby looks worried.  Deimos’ henchman tells him that he overheard Chad telling Gabi that he was still in love with her; Deimos asks what about his wife.  The man says, Chad says he’s in love with her too; Deimos smiles.  He says that may be something he can use.  Nicole nervously waits for Brady to come back (somewhere in the park, I guess); a hand reaches out for her shoulder.  It’s Brady; she is relieved.  She tells him how much his friendship means to her.
