Friday 02-26-2016

Maggie tells Victor that Carolyn moved out.  She didn’t say goodbye so he wouldn’t try to stop her like the last time.  Rafe comes to see Chad; tells him they found Stephano’s body, and that Andre has been arrested.  Roman comes to see Hope… tells her he knows what really happened.  She breaks down and admits that she killed Stephano – he asks why she didn’t come to him.  She says it’s bad enough that she involved Rafe; Roman tells her he is going to let Andre take the fall.

Looks like Joey really killed Ava.  Why didn’t that guard ever come back for her?  He called someone, on his cellphone, walking away from the room, saying he didn't want to move this patient if there wasn't really a fire.  Where did he go?  Carolyn runs into Damos in the park.  She has a vision of him shaking hands with some man, and faints.  Steve finds Joey in Ava’s room; sends him home and walks out to tell the guard and nurse that he killed her.  When Carolyn comes to, she is in Damos’ motel room and tells him she wants to know how he knows ‘Dr. Malcom’ – the monster who was torturing her son, Bo.  He tells her that name doesn’t ring a bell.  She tells Damos she saw him with Dr. Malcom.  He says he has heard about her, and her visions; she tells him she wants to leave.  He shows her the door. 

 

Chad goes to see Andre; Andre begs him to help him… Chad says he is not going to lift a finger for him.  He is angry, even knowing his father was not the best person, he said he loved his children; he can’t believe Andre did this.  Andre tells him if he walks away from him now, he’ll regret it for the rest of his life.  Once home, Abby tells him he has a right to mourn his father; he tells her that’s not what his father would want – he’s done wallowing.  He is ready to live life to the fullest.  He tells Abby he is ready to have a real wedding, right there, in Salem.  “Sounds perfect.”

Kayla is called to the hospital.  Carolyn goes back to tell Victor that she thinks Damos had something to do with what happened to Bo.  Hope gets a disturbing phone call.  Damos gets a text from Dr. Malcom; tells him to call.  Hope meets Rafe to tell him Roman knows everything; then tells him she thinks she might have killed the wrong man.

Thursday 02-25-2016

Opening scene: Ava, acting terrified, screaming “get her away from she… she’s going to try to kill me again” – Roman is there now; Ava tells him she wants Kayla arrested and thrown in jail.  Ciara wakes up from another dream, (she’s sleeping in a chair in the living room); she’s remembering the rape.  Hope is there; she assures her Andre is in jail.  Ciara tells her that’s not who she is afraid of.  Hope asks who then?  Ciara says “never mind.”  She tells her it was just a bad dream.

Philip is talking to Damos now… he tells him he wants to get back at his father.  Philip tells him he has the formula for the serum Damos wanted.  Damos is intrigued.  Roman refuses to arrest Kayla; talks to Ava alone and asks how she ended up giving JJ the slip and overdosing at Steve and Kayla’s house when she had agreed to get on a plane and leave town.  Steve and Kayla go home; Kayla tells him he can stay, sleep on the couch.

Belle buys “Edge of the Square” (a local night club) from Victor, using Stephano’s money.  Victor said that sweetened the deal.  She calls Claire to meet her there.  When Bell tells her she bought it for her so she would have a place to perform, Claire is not impressed.  Hope is trying to baby Ciara.  Belle texts and invites Ciara to the ‘kickback’ party – she says she’s in.  Hope asks her not to be drinking tonight; Ciara agrees (while rolling her eyes).  Hope tells her to be back by midnight.  They walk out the door and Ciara apologizes to Bell – tells her she is going to be stuck as designated driver, because she plans on getting trashed.  Theo stops by to see Ciara… he didn’t know about the party; he leaves.  Now Hope is concerned.  Damos looks at the paperwork, is upset that it is dated from months ago, Philip has been holding out; Philip tells him Victor wants him to spy for him, but that he really wants to get revenge against Victor.  Now none of us are sure what to think about Philip.  Who’s side is he on?  

 

Meanwhile, at the party, Ciara says the place is creepy and she doesn’t like being there, but she’s going to stay; Joey freaks out (seeing Ava’s face) and says he’s got to get out of there.  Jade runs after him.  Paul Norita is there; ‘officer’ Loni introduces herself to him, as a Marlins fan - asks for an autographed baseball for her brother, Theo.  Theo asks a group of ‘cool kids’ where Nancy Braden’s house is; they tell him nobody’s there, they say they are all behind the pier in a warehouse; they are headed that way.  Seems to me, they are lying.  Chase follows them.  Theo does show up at the party though; Ciara is pretty rude to him.  Claire mentions Chase and Ciara tells her she hates him; Chase is standing in the background.  Two boys start fighting and Theo intervenes – Clare tells Ciara they need to go.  Paul stops the boy who was getting picked on, and asks him if he needs to talk.

Kayla brings Steve pillows and a blanket for the couch.  They say goodnight.  Joey comes home; pops some pills before walking in the door, seeing his dad through the window.  Steve tells him what happened to Ava; that she’s trying to set his mother up for murder.  Joey says he is tired of Ava controlling their lives.  Philip finds Belle in the square; he can tell she’s upset, asks if something happened with Claire.  She says she can’t make Claire understand how much she loves her, or she doesn’t care… Philip says it’s not true.  He tells her he will never forget how special she is; they kiss.  Joey walks into the hospital and pulls the fire alarm; sneaks into Ava’s room.  I believe he wants to kill her.  Belle and Philip end up in bed.  Wow… he has a nice body!  Strong, muscular – mmm.  Sorry.  Joey puts a pillow over Ava’s face.  Nice.

Wednesday 02-24-2016

Nicole and Teresa spend the first two minutes of this show fighting; Teresa wants to go after Brady.  Nicole tells her to let him have this time with Summer – she goes anyway.  Kayla is leaning over Ava’s body when Steve walks in the door; she stupidly pulled the needle out of her arm, so now her prints are on it.  This is obviously Ava’s plan… to set Kayla up for her murder (or attempted murder).  Steve seems more concerned with waking Ava up than tending to Kayla.  No wonder she’s paranoid about their relationship.  I question it myself. 

Summer tells her story to Brady, how she and Daniel met; on the beach.  Said there was just a connection.  She describes her mood swings – Daniel always pulled her back up, or back down, she said.  Joey reflects on his tantrum; then throws a chair.  God, Teresa’s tears seem so fake to me.  Summer swears her connection with Daniel was never romantic.  I guess Steve n Kayla are debating on whether to call anybody or not.  Steve says let her die.  Jade introduces herself to Joey.  They had a class together last semester; she invites him to a party.  He agrees to go.  Kayla, being a doctor, refuses to let Ava die.  She called an ambulance; Morphine overdose, she says.  Steve deduces Ava was up to something more than just committing suicide (duh)… says they have to figure it out.

Brady asks Summer if she wants to come back to Salem and meet Maggie – maybe finish the DNA test for Daniel?  Teresa is being petty, making fun of Summer’s name, being insecure; Nicole calls her out on it.  Teresa says they are going to that bar and she is “going to collect him”?  Summer considers going.  Brady tells her that he believes in Daniel – he knows this is right.  Steve and Kayla go to the hospital to check on Ava; he asks about their meeting in the park.  She tells him Ava provoked her, kept telling her how much he wanted her and couldn’t get enough of her; so she attacked her.  That’s what she wanted, he says.  The doctor tells them that Ava is awake.  Kayla demands that Steve stay away from Ava – she goes in her room.  Summer fears that Maggie won’t be able to stand her; says she can’t stand herself half the time.  Brady assures her Maggie will welcome her with open arms.  She still says she’s not going (Teresa is there now, smiling smugly that Summer is refusing to go).  Kayla tells Ava the game stops now; Ava says that’s where you’re wrong, and starts screaming “she injected me – she tried to kill me.”  (Told you so.)

Tuesday 02-23-2016

Ava asks to go back to her hotel room to shower.  She puts the moves on JJ… he refuses.  Goes to wait outside her door.  Teresa shows up at Brady’s door in LA; asks what Nicole is doing there and why he’s wet – he asks her why she’s there.  (Do we have issues arising with the supposed ‘lovebirds’?  I hope so.)  Teresa asks if this is woman he’s been dreaming about, which shocks Summer; she demands to know how he could be dreaming about her.  (They haven’t told her Daniel is dead yet.)  Steve and Joey are still fighting; Joey is taking it pretty hard – just said he wished he was dead and ran out the door.  That’s kind of dramatic. 

 

Ava just pulled something off the bottom of a dresser drawer (a needle, and that bottle she got last week).  Hmmm.  I wonder what’s in that bottle.  JJ comes in just in time not to see her put it in her purse; she says she’s ready.  Asks him to grab her suitcase for her.  Smacks him over the head with her purse and knocks him to the floor.  She’s outta there!  Roman’s officers do find a body in the foundation of the building Andre told them Stephano’s body would be in… they are bringing it out.  Rafe tells Roman he is sure it is Stephano and calls Hope to tell her he has good news.  Summer is totally confused, because they still haven’t told her Daniel is dead yet… just talking about how Brady has wondered who she was all this time he’s been dreaming about her.  She assumes Daniel told him about her and he is now stalking her - she leaves the room, saying this is too weird.  Brady runs after her again.  Why doesn’t he just yell DANIEL IS DEAD!?  Nicole is concerned he is pushing himself too hard.  Teresa demands to know why Nicole lied to her.  Hope tells Rafe she doesn’t think she can ever put this behind her.  Steve catches up with Joey and gets him to break down; they hug.

Awe… Ava tricks JJ   Chase calls Hope. Tells her he’s not coming back.  On the beach, Brady finds Summer, sitting again and asks her to let him explain.  She offers to buy him a drink.  Jennifer!  That’s Abby’s mom’s name – Lol.  Hope just asked Chase to come back to Jennifer’s house.  Wow, finally.  No one has said that woman’s name since I started watching this show, I swear!  Ok.  So Chase tells Hope he is going to live with his aunt in Chicago; he’s not coming back.

Summer just asked Brady, point blank, why he didn’t just ask Daniel whatever it is he wants to know about her – now he HAS to tell her, right?  Andre leaves Chase in his hideaway while he goes to take care of some things.  Chase recalls the event, telling Ciara it was what they both wanted; then Ciara, in her room, remembers begging him to stop, saying ‘please’.  Hope calls to her and she pretends to be asleep.  She’s not sleeping.  Rafe is there to tell Hope they positively identified Stephano and are looking for Andre right now.  Finally… Brady tells Summer that he is alive because of Daniel; and that he started dreaming about her immediately after the transplant – and he believes there must be a reason.  Daniel wanted him to find her.  Surprisingly, she believes him.  She touches his heart.  He asks her why she thinks Daniel wanted him to find her… she tells Brady that Daniel believed they were brother and sister.  Andre is stopped in the square and placed under arrest.  Kayla comes back to the house to find Ava sprawled out on the floor just inside their front door.  Wait, what???

Monday 02-22-2016

So Brady runs after Summer; Nicole shows up on the beach just in time to see him heading into the waves.  He emerges with Summer in his arms.  Ciara is still shaken, but refuses to tell Theo what happened… he is trying his best to make her feel better.  Kayla is confronted by Ava in the park; Ava taunts her, saying Steve wanted it – that he really loves her and that’s why he acts like he hates her so much.  Kayla calls the police and tells them they better get to the park now, before she kills this bitch.  Steve talks to Hope about what happened with Ava; fears he has lost Kayla for good now.  Summer is upset when she comes to, but denies that she was trying to kill herself.  Brady starts having trouble breathing (may have been too much stress on his heart).  Ava really pisses Kayla off; she starts to strangle her just as Roman and JJ arrive.  Ciara finds a bottle of liquor in her mom’s cabinet and wants to drink it; Theo demands to know what is wrong with her.  She turns away from him, he reaches for her arm and she jerks away from him, dropping the bottle in the process; tells him not to tell her what to do.  Hope comes in the door and asks what’s going on.

Chase tells Andre that he forced himself on Ciara – admitting that he raped her… she didn’t want to, he says; he’s like his dad, a monster.  Andre seems sickly intrigued.  He talks about what a phony Hope Brady is, acting like a pillar of the community while she is anything but; says her daughter is probably just like her.  Chase gets irritated by this, telling Andre they have been nothing but good to him.  Chase seems truly regretful of what he has done – Theo tries to take the blame for the broken bottle.  Hope asks to talk with Ciara alone.  Ok, they are living with Abby’s mom right now, because of the fire… that’s why she was there the other day (I missed that last week).  Hope tells Ciara she can tell her anything, but Ciara is not wanting to admit what Chase did yet.  Andre tells Chase he just needs to forgive himself and move on; in time the guilt will subside.  He promises Chase to ‘protect him’ for as long as he can.  Brady explains to Summer how he knows her; she said “stuff happened” and she hadn’t seen him since.  Hope can tell Ciara is not happy with Chase living with them; she asks why – Ciara gives her several reasons, all but the most recent.  Steve tries to explain why he did what he did to Joey.

Roman tells Ava he could throw the book at her; Kayla says she would rather have her go to the other side of the world.  She tells her if she leaves town and never comes back, she won’t press charges – Roman says kidnapping is a federal offense; it’s not her choice.  Chase questions what “as long as you can” means (Andre explains he may have to leave the country); tells Chase they may come after him, if Ciara tells what he did.  Ciara is having flashbacks of the rape now – decently filmed face shots only.  She is crying.  Ava asks what time her flight leaves.  Roman says he doesn’t like it, but he concedes; tells Ava if he ever sees her around there again he’ll have her in a jail cell immediately.

Friday 02-19-2016

Today’s show finds Brady on the beach in LA… he goes into a diner/bar on the shore and asks if anyone knows a woman named Summer; the bar tender tells him he’s new, the regular guy might know her.  A song comes on, the one from his dream; this is all familiar to him.  Meanwhile, Nicole is confirming a flight to LA; tells Teresa she is going to Chicago (then Teresa wants to go of course).  Nicole makes up one excuse after another and says “bye!” as she exits out the door; Teresa knows she’s up to something.  Teresa imagines a phone call from the LAPD; Brady is dead – tells herself “stop”… then she imagines Nicole and Brady coming home to tell her that they are together now; he’s moving in with her – again, “stop it”.  Philip demands Victor’s attention – he wants to explain why he did what he did.  Tells Victor about the woman who died in his motel room years ago, how he covered it up, then Damos showed up and blackmailed him with pictures of it all.  He says he’s so sorry.  Victor doesn’t appear to be moved. 

Marlaina finds Belle in the bar; she tells Marlaina, Shawn and Clair both say they don’t recognize her anymore… she doesn’t recognize herself.  Tells her she is tired of being ‘the responsible one’, wants and deserves to have some fun.  But then says she really wants to focus on Claire.  How does that make sense?  Ava is watching a video of Steven and herself, ‘making love’ and decides to text it to Kayla… Kayla sees it and is aghast!  Meantime, Steve talks to John in the park – tells him about having sex with Ava.  John tells him he better tell Kayla quick or he’s going to lose her.  I’m not sure why he didn’t tell her immediately; they just always have to throw that element of distrust in there.  Kayla shows Steve the video when he gets home; he just sits there stupid like, and swears he was going to tell her.  Lingers before offering any real explanation; then Kayla doesn’t really buy it.  Across town, Victor tells Philip he should have come to him when he first needed help… tells him he never expected him to be perfect.  Then he tells him that he knows what he can do to make things right; tells him to go back to Damos – and find out his next move. 

Turns out Brady knows the regular bartender; they talk about old times (he must have been on the show at some point before).  He knows Summer, he says… she comes in all the time, usually a ‘sure bet’ on Friday.  But she has issues, he concludes.  Brady waits a while and then leaves his number with his old friend; he goes back to sit on the beach, where he sees Summer.  She gets up and walks into the water.  Brady runs after her.  Steve tries, poorly, to explain to Kayla that he didn’t WANT to have sex with Ava, but she changed the deal… sex for Kayla’s freedom.  He did what he had to do, to save her.  She tells him she can’t trust him anymore and leaves the house crying.  Steve texts Ava, “U R a dead woman’; but, what do you know?  Ava finds Kayla in the park.

Thursday 02-18-2016

Shawn is upset with Belle and questions her motives and her sanity; he tells her keeping the money is dangerous.  She scoffs at him and sends him away… Eric is at her door.  She is his attorney and he is there to discuss his DUI charges.  She tells him he is going to have to do time; a minimum of three to as much as fourteen.

Brady is dreaming of that woman again; first, at the beach, then an exam room in a psychiatric care facility ‘Salem Cares’.  He believes Daniel is trying to tell him something.  Andre stares down Hope and Rafe at the station; Roman takes him in for interrogation.  Chase is frantically looking for Andre.  Ciara is crying; her dress is torn.  She’s at Abby’s mom’s house?  I guess… she comes in offering to make Ciara dinner.

Nicole is barely hold it together; the presents from their wedding registry were delivered.  Nobody thought to cancel it?  One present is a mug… from the Salem Cares psychiatric clinic; she calls the director to come pick up the presents, all but the mug and one blender.  Teresa worries that Brady is obsessing about this woman in his dreams; he assures her he is fine and she is the one always on his mind and in his heart – but tells her he needs to find the answers (to make sure he does all he can to find them).  He tells her he is going to LA.  She says, “like hell you are”… he insists he has to go, saying it could change his life (which upsets her); but he calms her down and tells her he is going.

Theo shows up at the door; Ciara asks him to get her out of there – they go to the park.  Theo can tell Chase hurt her, but she won’t tell him how; he hugs her.  Nicole brings Teresa the blender she kept; Teresa boohoos about Brady - she's jealous.  Nicole says, "the heart has reasons."  Andre tells Roman exactly where he can find his father’s body; insists Hope killed him, and Rafe covered it up.  Roman questions how he knows where the body is.  He doesn’t buy his story; has him escorted to his cell.  Hope and Rafe look at each other concerned. 

 

Eric goes to the bar and has a drink… shame on him.  Abby’s mom finally comes out and apologizes for taking so long – looks around to see her house empty – takes a pill.  Shame on her.  Eric shows up at her door, drunk; he knows about her addiction and starts teasing her about it.  What a pair!  He kisses her.  She doesn’t pull away.  Ciara asks Theo to tell her a story and he ends up talking about Stephano and how much he misses him; then apologizes.  Shawn talks to Loni(?), the new recruit, in the square… asks her to dinner.  She says, “how about tonight?”  Roman may be considering what Andre had to say; he sends a team out to look for Stephano’s body.  Rafe assures Hope all is well.

Wednesday 02-17-2016

Kaya is home; Steve assures her that it is all over… she asks what happened while she ‘was gone’ and he avoids telling her.  Ciara calls Hope; tells her she has to find Chase.  Chase is enjoying a meal with Andre in his hotel room.  He is talking to Andre about his father, admitting it is still hard for him to acknowledge what he did.  Then they start talking about Ciara; Andre coaches Chase ‘to win Ciara’s heart’.  There’s a new regular on the show “Shawn Douglas”, apparently he is Bo and Hope’s son, and Belle’s ex-husband; and he’s a cop too.  So the police find Hope’s gun in Andre’s suitcase and Rafe deduces that Andre stole her gun to try to frame her and has something to do with his father’s disappearance – of course, we all know better.  Chad shows Rafe the statue with Stephano’s blood on it; he sends it for testing.

Hope talks to Shawn about being careful; she gives him Bo’s St. Jude necklace.  Belle tries to talk Claire into going on a trip with her; she’s rather hyper.  Claire questions where she got the money to go on a trip like that (gets mouthy) and Belle almost hits her.  Do they have a volatile relationship?  Claire tells her dad about her concerns – he goes to talk to Belle.  Theo tells Ciara that he really loves her; she tells him she doesn’t want their friendship to ever change.  Apparently he grew up with Stephano; he said he was always nice to him and took care of him.  Shawn finds Chase and brings him home.  Kayla wants to file charges against Ava; guess who’s back in Salem??  Rafe is doing a good job of making it look like Andre killed Stephano – develops a theory… missing money, Andre took it, Stephano found out – call making the transfer came from inside the house after all.  Chad asks Andre if its true… Andre swears they’ve turned all the evidence around; Chad doesn’t believe him at first, but then he does.

Roman orders Rafe to bring Andre in; he voluntarily goes in.  Chase and Ciara are now home, alone.  He tells her he loves her – makes a move.  She tries to pull away, but then lets him kiss her? She tries again to stop him… is he going to rape her?  Holy cow.  Bold move, writers.  Wow – Eve has a camera in Steve and Kayla’s bedroom!?!

Tuesday 02-16-2016:

Gabby n JJ seem happy.  Abby and Chad are preparing to elope.  They tell the butler he can stay, but he must understand he works for them now, not Stephano or Andre – they are no longer allowed in the mansion.  Abby really doesn’t want to elope (why did she agree?)… she tells Chad she has to tell her mom before they go.  Meanwhile, ‘mom’ forgot to send out an important press release; insisting she had done it, she realizes she didn’t even finish writing it!
 
Ciara recalls accusing Chas of starting the fire – he ran away – now she is worried about him.  Hope and Rafe make a new plan to ‘take care of Andre once and for all’.  Abby leaves Chad to go help her mom (and to tell her that they are eloping)… Chase is thinking of leaving town; Andre talks him out of it, like he really cares.  Tells him he needs to stand up for himself; to stay for Ciara.  Andre offers to help him.  Ciara calls to apologize to Chase, but only gets his voicemail.  Abby talks to JJ and Gabby; JJ still isn’t happy she’s back with Chad, let alone marrying him.  Gabby sticks up for Chad; tells JJ he should give him a chance. 

Abby recalls (or imagines) Chad asking her to sign a pre-nup… looks like a wedding dress, but it’s not her current one.  “Just a precaution” he tells her; “you are marrying into a grand family”… they drink some wine.  Chad toasts her, his “prize possession” (she knows it’s not really Chad); she poisoned his wine, tells him she is nobody’s prize possession, and finds Chad locked up in a room.  Was this a distant memory from a time past – or a fantasy?  She tells JJ they are eloping, so he won’t have to worry about coming to the wedding. 

Ciara tells Hope that Chase took off again.  Hope is upset.  Ciara feels bad; Theo, however, wishes he would just stay gone.  Hope goes to the police station to file two reports: one for Chase being missing, and one for her house being vandalized.  Roman talks to Hope; she admits she is angry and scared.  He offers to pull some strings to get her back on the force.  She said she’d like that.  Rafe stops by the mansion to talk to Chad about Andre; asks to look in Andre’s bags… finds Hope’s gun.

Monday 02-15-2016

Brady is still baffled about who the woman he keeps dreaming of is… it’s not Daniel’s ex-wife.  John and Eduardo talk; ‘the agency’ is trying to pull them both back in.  Victor orders a problem eliminated (namely, Damos).  Philip is trying to find evidence against Damos; not having much luck so far.  Damos gives an expensive necklace to Kate – she may regret doing business with him.  Teresa and Nicole are looking for headquarters for their new clothing design company; Brady goes in for a checkup.  John might have info that can help Philip… Belle tells Philip that they need to give each other some space.  Brady’s doctor senses that something is bothering Brady – of course, Brady tells him he’s fine.  Damos is attacked in the park; wow, he knows how to defend himself.  He sends Victor a text: “nice try brother…”.   Victor is angry.

Week Ending 02-15-2016

My apologies for falling behind again; here's a quick recap of last week.

 

Monday 02-08:  Chase apologizes to Theo; but Theo couldn't accept his apology - he told Chase no one had ever been so mean.  Chad asks Abby to elope... she really doesn't want to.  Joey rescues Kayla; she goes to the hospital, but keeps her abduction a secret.  Steve and Ava find out that their baby died of pneumonia; Steve leaves Ava and tells her he never wants to see her again.

 

Tuesday 02-09:  Teresa is feeling insecure now about her relationship with Brady, because of Nicole.  Belle finds Clair sitting in the park; she asks what happened.  Victor finds his houseguest leaving him a note; she says she can't stay there another minute...  Kate now owns Basic Black all on her own, but Teresa and Nicole have all the designs -   Damos is making threats to someone on the phone.

 

Wednesday 02-10:  Victor asks Phillip why he didn't stop the take over of Wilmington; Damos makes an appearance.  Phillip says "no" - Victor asks what the hell is going on.  Abby and Chad admire their son and talk about his future.  Rafe runs into Eduardo at the bar; he invites him to have a drink.  Hope dreams of coming home to find Andre holding a knife to Ciara's throat; Chase meets Andre  in the park.

 

Thursday 02-11:  Steve comes home to find Kayla sitting in the dark; she asks what happened.  Ava is remembering their night together; then recalls Steve's departure, and gets angry.  John Black is feeling nostalgic; Marlaina comforts him.  Chase's backpack rings... and then explodes into flames; Hopes house is on fire.  Andre watches from his computer.

 

Friday 02-12:  Apparently they got the fire put out before it caused too much damage - they found the camera Andre had hidden and destroyed it.  Salem is preparing for the anniversary celebration, and Valentine's Day.  Nichole hears urgent knocking at her door; it's a flower delivery.

Friday 02-05-2016

Abby and ‘mom’ come home from Daniels memorial service; mom makes a big deal about how bad her back hurts after sitting at the ceremony for two hours.  Theresa brings Abby’s wedding dress; it’s beautiful.  J.J. gets his uniform.  Abby notices that her mom is acting strangely when she comes back downstairs – super happy.  She’s concerned.  Chad goes to see Andre to see what is so urgent - Andre tells him he saw Stephano’s body in an abandoned building that got blown up... he’s sure Hope killed him.  Chad could care less; Andre can’t believe his attitude.  He shows him Hope’s gun… Chad says it doesn’t mean Hope did it.  Andre keeps insisting and adds that Fernandez was in on it.  Tells Chad they have a duty to avenge their father’s death; shows him the ring he took off of Stephano’s finger.  Chad tells Andre that he’s insane and that he wants no part of any vengeance. 

Oh… Damos Kariakis explains how he was framed; accused of killing a woman that Victor actually killed – doing time for his brother did not increase his fondness for him.  Claims he is here to make things right… offers Kate the loan she needs to buy out the girls.  Chad tells Andre that he and Abby are buying the mansion, and as soon as his name is on the deed, he wants him out of there… Andre is not happy.  He tries to appear intimidating as he exits.  Chad goes to talk to Hope; tells her about Andre’s face, etc.  Hope says he must be making it all up.  Chad lets her know that Andre believes she killed their father – even though he doesn’t care – Hope thanks him for letting her know, tells him goodbye, and calls Rafe in a panic.  Theresa talks to Abby about her concerns; she recognizes the symptoms, as someone with experience abusing drugs. Tells Abby she should count the pills.

Nichole has been talking to Brady about missing Daniel; she accidentally called him Daniel.  She explains that its just that his heart still beating keeps Daniel alive – Brady says he understands, because of the dreams he’s having.  They continue talking; he comforts her.  Theresa comes home (slight look of shock when she sees them).  I can never remember this woman’s name (Nichole and Theresa’s “silent partner”)… she’s talking to Damos.  Chad walks in on Abby gazing at herself still in her wedding dress; she gets upset and tells him he can’t look at her right now.  After making him stand, turned around for several minutes, he talks her into letting him turn around – they fall into each other’s arms, laugh and exchange ‘I love yous.’ 

Damos leaves and Eduardo sits down at the table with Kate.  Apparently they have unresolved issues… discussing invisible lines drawn in the sand.  He tells her he probably can’t change.  She tells him they don’t have anything else to talk about.  He leaves, shaking his head.  J.J. is given an assignment to tail Damos Kariakis.  Rafe assures Hope that everything will be ok; they just need to ride it out.  Goes to see Andra; tells him to stay the hell away from Hope.  Chad tells Abby he wants to go get married in Paris, right away.  Brady has another dream of the mystery woman.

Thursday 02-04-2016

This actor playing Damos... he used to play a guy named David on All My Children; he was a real creep - looks like he landed the same type of role here on Days.  Steve n Kayla's son is angry about the kiss he walked in on, between Ava and his dad.  Steve and Ava are in a hotel room wherever they went (looking for their son).  Patrick questions Belle about her feelings for Shawn; she tells him they are over.  Who is that guy, staring at Gabby?

Looks like J.J., is going to graduate from the police academy.  Belle tells Patrick that he is like a drug to her, and that's not good.  Steve questions whether or not Ava is actually dying like she says, due to a 'slip of the tongue' she makes...saying, "no matter how long it takes."  Gabby gives J.J. a shoulder rub.  Patrick continues to plead his case to Belle; he may have 'fluid' moral standards, he says, but he's a good distraction.  Belle tells him they have too many problems here 'in the real world' to be playing around.  Then they kiss.  Figures.  Theo knocks on Joey's door, to tell him that Chase was the one taunting him - Joey is short with him... not a good time, he says.  Ava admits to lying about having Leukemia; but she tells Steve that she did it for LOVE (his love), and swears that she is telling the truth about their son.  He doesn't know what to think now.

Paul Norita is greeted by the guy who was staring at Gabby earlier... tells Paul he used to work at the prison, and thought she was hot in her prison uniform - but now - Wow, he says; ok, so he's an asshole.  He is extremely offensive to Paul about being gay too.  Good thing Paul has a positive attitude about it now.  J.J. and Gabby awkwardly decide to go get a yogurt.  Belle and Phillip now go to his room.  Ava still insists that 'Patch' have sex with her if he wants to save his wife; Kayla is now hallucinating.  Steve 'reluctantly' kisses her, as they go to commercial break.

The ass from the jail confronts Gabby; J.J. tells him to leave her alone - he tries to touch her and J.J. quickly gets his hands behind his back (if only he had those cuffs already).  Damos is looking at pictures of Phillip, Brady and a bunch of other guys uncertain to me.  Belle n Phillip, in bed; Belle gets a disappointing text from Claire...she's auditioning at Julliard, but has Eve there for support.  Damos calls to tell Phillip they need to talk, now.  Kayla is still hallucinating; Steve and Ava are getting ready to have some angry sex.

J.J., roughly sends the former corrections officer asshole away, tells Gabby he enjoys being with her - says they have a lot in common and they should just be happy.  Joey asks Theo to go away, telling him it's just not a good time for them to visit.  Ava is fondling Steve, as he looks regretful; he tells her to make the call, to release Kayla.  Ava calls Joey to tell him where to find his mother.  J.J. offers to teach Gabby to defend herself; she sneaks a kiss, during a defensive move.  Now, what is Belle snooping around for... and who is the girl in those pictures??  Phillip meets with Damos as requested - asks what Damos has done with his father.  J.J. apologizes to Gabby even though she is the one who made the first move; she tells him to stop being stupid, says she likes him... they decide to take it slow and see where this goes.  Belle puts a question mark on the envelope with the unknown girl's pictures in it, and leaves it for Phillip to find as she exits the hotel room. 

During their conversation, Damos asks about 'the serum' (the one developed to save Phillip's grandma, paid for by Victor); apparently Phillip was supposed to have gotten ahold of it for Damos by now.  Then he makes a veiled threat about some high-ranking official's daughter that overdosed, apparently while with Phillip some time ago.  Joey finds Kayla; Steve tells Ava he hopes she's happy because that's all she's getting from him.  Ava responds that she is going to get much, much more from him (unless he wants Kayla to know what they just did).  Like he couldn't just tell her.  Whatever.

Wednesday 02-03-2016

Ok, so it looks like Abby’s mom is going to an AA meeting with Eric; that’s good.  Oh.  Ok… so she tells people she doesn’t want to take the pills, but then she does take them.  Yep, she has a problem.  Chase is at the house when Hope, Rafe and Ciara get home; they all tell him they were worried about him.  All is forgiven.  Andre swears revenge on Hope – he is quite certain that his father is dead.  That bandage on his face is driving me crazy; it is so obviously fake!  It has a line of blood on the outside, it is flopping loosely and only taped at the top and at the bottom. 

So even though Hope talked Rafe into going fishing at the cabin, they both admit now that neither one of them knows how to cook a fish.  Hope clumsily spills her drink on Rafe, and then offers to wash his shirt; things get all awkward and Rafe says goodnight.  Abby tells Chad she will go along with buying the mansion, under the condition that Stephano never steps foot in it again.  Done, Chad said.  He goes down on one knee and gives her an engagement ring.  By the end of the show, Eric is at a bar with a drink in his hand – thankfully, he decides to sit it down and leaves.  J.J. is watching him.  Andre is standing outside of Hope’s window.  Uh-oh.

Tuesday 02-02-2016

Belle warns Eve to stay away from her daughter; Edwardo is in a fight with some guy, in a motel room?  Where is he?  Ava wants so badly to believe Steve; he kisses her to try to persuade her.  I don’t think she’s falling for it.  I mean, just a week ago, he said he would rather poke his good eye out than to ever be with her again.  Hmmm.  Kayla may have found a way out (a vent); or not.  Nichole and Teresa have a plan; I don’t quite understand it yet, to get rid of their ‘silent’ partner.  Looks like they are walking away from Basic Black, but I know that can’t be right.  Brady just said he would invest.  Belle is talking to Claire’s dad; he tells her that the music program Eve runs would not be lasting very much longer.  Belle trips getting up, he catches her – they are face to face – so romantic; she pulls away, telling him she’s “not ready”.  Ava tells Steve that he will let Kayla go, if he makes love to her right then; Steve suddenly begins to strangle her.  Brady falls asleep and has a very strange dream, which wakes him.  Who was that woman sitting on the beach?  Steve lets Ava go; she tells Steve to come to Indonesia with her to find their son, and she will then call and tell Joey where to find Kayla.  He agrees.

Monday 02-01-2016

Ok, so it appears that Damos and Phillip are both plotting against Victor.  Not sure what that's about.  While at the cabin, Ciara looks at Chase's phone and sees that he is the one sending Theo all those mean texts; she is mad and throws his phone at him.  He leaves the cabin.  Steven believes he has a lead on finding his and Ava's son; he vows to get Kayla home safe.  Hope and Ciara talk about what Chase has done; must be a really troubled young man, Hope figures.  Phillip tells Belle that Damos is forcing him to work with him, against Victor - he swears he loves his grandfather and doesn't want to but has no choice.  Steven offers to go away with Ava to look for their son, if she will just let Kayla go now; she considers, asking, what if I did?  Damos taunts Victor; apparently, he is holding some grudge from thirty years ago.  Ciara gets ahold of Chase on the phone; he's planning on leaving town.  Eve is coaching Belle's daughter, Claire, in singing for Juliard - Belle sees them hugging and doesn't like it at all, I can tell. 

Week Ending 1-29

I'm sorry I'm running behind... I'll try to keep up better in the future; but truly not too much has happened these past couple of weeks, so that's a good thing for me.

I really like the idea that Brady is having dreams of Daniels memories; but Nichol is sure torn up - I hurt for her.  Now, as Andre was searching for his father, in the very place he happened to be, a demolition crew imploded part of the building; chunks of concrete fell right on top of Andre... but, of course, he made it out with only a few minor scratches on his face - although, he just pulled a big chunk of glass (?) out of his cheek.  He calls on Chad for help; Chad refuses to come.  He calls a doctor to the house instead, who claims he can't stitch him up if they aren't at the hospital, so he puts a loosely placed patch over the cut instead. 

Victor's brother, Damos, shows up in town - I remember this actor from All My Children.  Eric is released from the hospital and immediately turns himself in; he is arrested for drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.  Brady goes home with Theresa. 

Melanie comes back for Daniel's funeral (I had forgotten she was his daughter).  Brady acts like he is barely even happy to see her; she is acting like it's perfectly normal that he and Teresa are together now, like it doesn't bother her at all.  That's truly unbelievable...it just simply wouldn't be so!  And now Brady is reassuring Theresa that SHE is the one he loves... ick; are you kidding me?

Theirs was the ultimate love story (Mel and Brady).  It was portrayed as a never-dying love that could withstand anything and wouldn't just fade away.  This love would have survived the time, and the distance - and the invasion of Theresa; but no, the writer's have to go and ruin it.

Melanie is so beautiful...but she sure plays a mousy part - barely speaking above a whisper at any given time; still, I don't understand why they couldn't have had her stand by Brady's side after bringing home the baby.  Geeze, even if the actress just wanted off the show, they could have re-cast her part; other soaps have done it plenty of times... Lulu and Carly from OLTL have each been played by three different people!  So now it looks like Abby's mom is tempted by the pain pills.  Does she have a past with addiction?  If so, it was before my time as a Days viewer.

Ugh, the memories of Daniel and Nichole are making me bawl!  It is just so sad.  He was such a nice guy; and now Eric shows up at her door, asking for forgiveness.  I don't blame her a bit for her reaction.  Wow... that was actually kind of cruel of the writers, to have the man she once loved, kill the man she was about to marry.  Honestly, not cool.

Chad and Abby are looking for a place of their own - is he serious about buying the mansion?? 

Little Parker is getting more and more adorable, every time they bring him on the show; Melanie is happy to see him at least.  Hope decides to take the kids to their family cabin in the woods, just to get away from things; Rafe decides to go with them.  It's probably a good thing.  Something's bound to happen.  Now, what is Andre looking for in Hope's house - and who is that?  She has a son??  Wow, there's apparently still a lot about this show that I don't know.

Week Ending 1-22

So quite a bit went on this week... Eric is having nightmares about the accident; Brady is dreaming about Nicole.  Phillip whisked Belle away to Vegas for the weekend - not much of Chad and Abby this week.  'Mom' is having back spasms; Chad takes her to the hospital.  The doctor says it could have been serious (there is swelling); points for Chad.  Hope decides to quit the force?  She 'confessed' to shooting the man in the park that she supposedly didn't really shoot; charges against her were dropped for lack of evidence.  Andre demands an investigation into his father's disappearance, bringing in evidence - a smear of blood on a small statue.

Eric visits Daniel in the morgue; promises to "make it right" - how can he make this mess right?  Claire tries to get her dad to get back with her mom; John Black finally found his birth mother and is learning about his biological father... when he passes out.  He was faking (thankfully, he smelled the poison in his drink).  A former employer/ nemesis is there; John overcomes him and leaves his mom's COLDLY.  Ciara notices the sexual tension between Hope and Rafe; she gets the idea to get them together.  I've always thought they should be together.  J. J. and Gabby are getting very close.

As the week ends, Andre insists, to Chad, that something has happened to their father.  Chad has a talk with Hope.  Abby's mom is now taking pain killers (I see an addiction coming on).  Hope is now haunted by the memory of killing Stephano - so she does remember it, vividly.  Andre goes looking for his dad, somehow, deducing that he might find a clue in the abandoned warehouse that seems to be attached to the mansion.  While in there, a demolition crew blows part of it up?  What??

Week Ending 1-15

This week starts out with Ava telling Steve that the child in the pictures is his son; she wants him to find the child.  Chad spontaneously proposes to Abby; she accepts.  Victor offers to pay for a new hospital wing, in Daniel's name; he insists on bringing Brady home to recover - Brady refuses.  Hope shoots Stephano (supposedly in a moment of insanity), claiming a black-out... but boy, did she pull that trigger with vigor - she was pent up with rage.  Rafe helps Hope cover up Stephano's murder.

Abby tells her mom and J.J. that she and Chad are getting married; they are less than thrilled.  She mentions that there had been a cancellation on Valentine's Day, so that's when they were having the wedding - but mom reminds her that was when Daniel and Nichole were going to get married.  Hope now decides that her best chance of getting away with Stephano's murder is to confess to the murder she supposedly didn't commit?  Thinks this will keep the focus off of Stephano; not sure that's smart.

Chad is sure taking a lot of chances, being back at the family mansion (and alone, with his brother, Andre)... why would they go there to make love??  How dumb.  Rafe and Hope review their plan.  Chad tells Abby he has moved out of the mansion.  Joey tells Ava he loves her; she tells him she is dying and makes him leave.  Kayla is standing at her door; Ava clocks her over the head!
